"After a beautiful mountain biking day up to Engelberg (if you are lazy or not fit, you can rent an awesome electric bike nearby to the restaurant, in the Engel Hotel: my dad enjoyed it very much!,) we were really hungry, so we decided to eat the nearest as possible to the bike rental.We went to this restaurant with little expectations, as it is located in the railway station. The entrance is not very charming; on the left there was a lot of smoke and noise but fortunately, there was also another very quiet and pleasant eating-room on the right hand side as well.We ordered one fantastic Appenzeller Weizen (organic!,) 2 alcohol-free beers, 2 tomato soup (very good,) 2 big salads with nuts and 2 pork escalopes with mushroom sauce (very tasty and balanced,) as well as 2 ice creams with cream. We ended up spending 110 CHF (approx 96 eur,) which was a neat price for the quantity and quality of food.It is not a place to come here for, but if you ever catch up in Stans, it's worth a good meal at a very good value being in Switzerland (approx 32 eur per person fordrink first second course side dish dessert for each one).Everything was ok but the best to me was the excellent organic weizen beer."

ideal for a znüni in between or simply to read a time in rest on the morning. it is a quiet little cozy slightly rustic beizli. the personal is very friendly.

very original restaurant in the middle of stans, equal vis-a-vis from the railway station. here in the evening in the restaurant the stanser originale! intermittent with folk music. in the dining room is a little quieter, especially the carvings in a safe 10 variations are a ravine.

we were in the saeal and tried the different Cordonbleu variations. we had nothing to put out and the Risen-Cordonbleu was the oberhammer. the food fits to the building, simply original and looks. the service was fast and friendly and fits in this restaurant. the only thing we had to complain about, one judges strongly to restaurant when we came home, one had to do the clothes in the laundry basket.

the train station chalet is a rustic cozy beizli in the middle of stans. in the front part of the restaurant it is quite original, one meets stanser originale and practically in every weekend plays some captive. who doesn't care about the noise can experience an exciting evening. in the back part is eaten. I was 3x in the Stübli and have always chosen a carving from the map. there are 20 different variations of carvings, all perfectly cooked and served with lots of supplements

coming from Italy and heading to skylight is now lunch, so we decide for a deviation and we stop in the village of stans. by chance we choose this place and immediately we understand that it is frequented by the locals. a few tables to which people of the place are sitting and drinking beer. the waitress (perhaps owner) brings us the menus and we order two bleu cordon i.e. a cotoletta filled with ham and cheese (emmental, does not smell, as instead most Swiss cheeses:) a classic and one onion. a real delight, not to mention the fries, dry (not greased) with exceptional flavor of potato and no smell of fried oil, with crispy crusty at the right point. add two local beers all for euro 65 in tw...

"Warmer Samstagabend, netter Empfang unsere Dreiergruppe. Beginn mit Walliser Chardonnay leider nicht so nach unserem Geschmack, da wenig gehaltvoll. Wir nahmen alle zwei Vorspeisen: Terrine de foie gras mit confit und danach das Medaillon de foie gras mit confît. Die Terrine war sehr lecker, wunderbar abgeschmeckt, sehr feines confît, schöne Größe. Preis 27. obere Grenze aber ok. Das Medaillon hätte für uns etwas stärker angebraten sein dürfen; ein wenig fleur du sel darüber wäre nicht fehl am Platz gewesen. Es gab nur ein kleines Medaillon, wofür dann der Preis von 27.50 nicht mehr ganz stimmte. Uns begleitete nun ein Rosé, der offenbar gut war, bzw. ein Französischer Sauvignon, der sehr sehr fruchtig, mundend und passend zum Essen war. Weinpreise (bis auf den Chardonnay) ok.Hier passierte dann in unseren Augen die erste Peinlichkeit und Schweizerische Bünzliheit , als nach dem 8. Glas Sauvignon (bei 2 Personen) ein Minirest von etwa 3 Schlucken in der Flasche verblieben ist und der Service diese nicht noch eingeschenkt hat. Alle drei Personen nahmen ein Dessert. Das cremige Eiskaffee mit Kirsch war schön cremig, es hatte genau die richtige Menge Kirsch drin, und dieser war sehr schmackhaft. Zwei Personen nahmen noch Kaffee, und hier passierte dann unseres Erachtens die zweite peinliche schweizerische Bünzliheit : es gab für die dritte Person kein Friandise , weil sie ja keinen Kaffee hatte. Auf Input, dass wir das kleinlich fänden, wollte der Service den Chef schicken, der es aber offenbar nicht für nötig hielt, persönlich vorbeizukommen (und neue Gäste zu gewinnen). Fazit des Abends: es wird kein neues Stammlokal werden, da die nahe liegenden Restaurants Rosenburg in Stans oder das Belvedere in Hergiswil viel mehr zu bieten haben für das gleiche Geld."
