"The Speedy Gonzales flame cake, which used to taste great, has now suffered a significant drop in quality. The crust was not crispy but more like dried out, unbaked dough that was difficult to cut. Eating with hands was impossible as the toppings kept falling off. Compared to before, the toppings were disappointing: low-quality minced meat, sparse vegetable selection, and a dry, flavorless sauce."

"Good food and salads. For me the one or the other price was a little too high. Especially the flame cake. They are well occupied and also taste very good. And the salads were missing the bread or 1-2 slices of baguette. Even if I had received something on request, it belongs to me or it should be asked when ordering if desired. Therefore only 4 stars at dinner. Otherwise it would have been 5."

"It’s an unbiased five star rating as we’ve travelled throughout Europe and there is much to be said about a family run business. They work so much harder than those working for chains. My sister in law, Heidi or her son, Alex, will go daily to pick fresh vegetables, breads and whatever else they need for the restaurant side. The only thing that I’ve seen ever get delivered is the beer and lots of it. Heidi has sacrificed much for the hotel but in her heart, I know she wouldn’t change a thing. My niece, Angela, works along side her mom and brother. Yes, they have chefs but none ever seem to be good enough for the Barb so it is my family who cooks and does so proudly. They don’t need the money, they could walk away today but all the money in the world wouldn’t give them the love and passion they have for the hotel. If each one of us gave 1/10 of what each of them give each and everyday, the world would be a better place."

"In the China Restaurant Jasmin you always feed full satisfaction. A secret tip is the buffet offered on Thursday and Saturday evening as well as on Sunday afternoon with almost all specialties and is refilled according to the motto All You Can Eat. "Probably the cheapest and most rich Thai restaurant in the Kaiserslautern area. Simple but complete menu of Thai essentials. I didn't find the sharp selections too hot. Everything was tasteful and big. We had the Thai roles, fried, but not too heavy; the red chicken cure, which was spicy and tasteful; roasted duck yellow curry and duck fried rice. One of the only places that still serves water through the glass for 1 euro. The total bill for all the food we took home most was 27 euros. Fast, friendly and clean restaurant. Enjoy Khao Lak!"
