"Our group of ten went out for a birthday Sunday lunch and we were all impressed with every aspect of Lisbon Tapas. The food, which included a variety of set meals and tapas, was fantastic - freshly cooked, well-seasoned, and served in generous portions. The friendly service added to the overall experience, and the ambience was perfect for our celebration. The highlight was when I was surprised with a Pastel de Nata topped with a lit candle and a rendition of 'Happy Birthday' by both family and staff. It was a truly memorable birthday thanks to Lisbon Tapas!"

"The Cross Foxes has the most superb setting being right on the River Dee. It has a wonderful outside terraced sitting/dining area directly overlooking this majestic river, so it's location is prime. It was previously a Brunning Price restaurant and is now under new management/ownership. I hope the new owners make a success of it. We live relatively nearby and know it quite well. We recently called in for an early evening fish and chip supper which was tasty and the new owners appear to be working very hard to make a success of it. It was quite busy when we were there and was filling up as we left. We often like a soup and sandwich for lunch and are pleased to see they offer a choice of them on their menu."

"This was a while ago but just getting round to reviewing it now. Food is absolutely top notch. My partner’s mum drives 30 minutes just to get pizza from Cleopatra’s! We sat in for a meal and I asked for extra olives on my pizza. They absolutely delivered. The tzatziki was also the best I’ve ever tasted and I will be back for more. The waitress up front was absolutely lovely, a younger girl, so friendly. When we went to pay though, the owner/manager ? older lady tried quite heavily to recruit my partner to work there which was a little awkward as he has a job already and we’d only gone there for food and not to find new jobs! It was awkward for him having to say he will think about it. Has a funky stale smell in there and is a bit dated. But you go there for the food, which is amazing and well priced. Can’t beat the service either. Will be back .. as customers though! ;"

"Kim and I, together with our dogs Monty and Stanley, called in on the off-chance for a meal on August Bank Holiday Monday. The bar managers were welcoming, and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Fresh water provided for the dogs and brought to the table with two dog biscuits. Kim and I had Ciabattas with bacon, brie and cranberry with a small salad, coleslaw and fries which were tasty and well presented. A lovely pub excellently staffed. Thank you. "Our experience at the Wynnstay Arms exceeded our expectations. The hotel has convenient parking, is located above a fantastic pub, and is close to Wrexham FC. Situated outside of town, the hotel is peaceful and charming. Despite being an older facility, it is well-maintained, and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They provided us with directions to local attractions and truly represented their town well. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal downstairs and then retired to our quiet and comfortable room. The Wynnstay Arms offers everything you could want in a travel destination, and we are excited to return. We would come back just for the complimentary breakfast and the exceptional staff. Overall, it was a wonderful experience."

"Two couples with a pre-booked table, first visit since pre Covid-19. We had starters, mains, deserts, drinks coffees. Food was average pub grub, unfortunately all hot food was served on cold plates. Menu is extensive, prices are reasonable. We were asked to pay for our starters, main course arrival drinks before our food was served. We were also asked to pay for the next round of drinks during our meal and before ordering desert. Nowhere on the menu did we see that payment was due at time of ordering and it is not what we expected to punctuate our evening out. Appreciated this requirement was not down to the table staff, who were very attentive and proficient, however this payment policy ruined the ambiance of our evening out and as a result although this is the closest functioning pub to our homes none of us will return."

"We visited the Hand for my birthday lunch. This is our first time and it was well worth the drive through stunning countryside. The food was the best we've had in a while. Beautifully cooked and presented. We had the roast option for our main course. Everything was hot and tasty. We will be back again soon and would highly recommend"

"My daughter and I recently attended the RedLion for a meal at short notice, and were pleasantly surprised at the warm reception which we received. The bar was relatively quiet for the time and the day. We went to the bar and placed our order, which was served quite briskly ......the steak, with side salad and trimmings, and a similar burger without the roll, as my daughter is allergic to bread Half way through our meal we were approached by three fellow diners, who made themselves known,...................old friends who had moved from the area, more than twenty years previously, So the Red did us proud, out of the blue , and pink with embarrassment ,we enjoyed a golden evening and the food wasn't bad either. Dietary restrictions: My daughter is allergic to breads so enjoyed her burgher minus thar item butane up for it with side salad."

"Bought a takeaway from here through Just Eat, but I couldn’t rate it on there for some reason. Never had any food from here before, and I was really pleased with the food. The Wagu burger was really nice, and there were plenty of sweet potato fries. Delivery was super speedy too! I would order again, and I would recommend. Service: Delivery Meal type: Dinner"

"I had a pleasant afternoon lunch at this restaurant today. I chose to sit outside, which seemed to surprise the staff at first. However, after only 10 minutes, all the outdoor tables were filled with customers. The food was freshly prepared and delicious. I opted for two tapas plates, which were satisfying. The price of my latte was surprisingly cheaper than most other places in the city. The restaurant appeared to be popular, as it was quite busy even at 10 in the afternoon. Overall, a great dining experience."

"I booked here after seeing a picture of the roast dinner sharing platter on someone’s instagram story, and had my heart set on it. I was not disappointed, nor was my partner! The amount of food you get on it especially the meat is well worth the price! (Which in my opinion is actually worth more than what you charge! and every single thing was delicious! Only niggle was tiny bit of mash but that’s because i LOVE mash but if im honest i definitely did not need any more food! . It was a busy little cosy pub! The service was spot on very friendly and attentive staff. I have been recommend this place to EVERYONE. We will be back we have decided its going to be at least a monthly visit! Thank you"

"Four of us went to eat at this restaurant. We were seated in a very cold room, so we had to keep our coats on. I ordered the beer-battered fish and chips. It looked good when it was brought to the table, but when I cracked through the batter, there was hardly any fish inside. I complained about it, but it seemed like they were aware of the issue and chose to ignore it. There were no apologies given. After talking to a local, we found out that the restaurant had declined in quality since new owners took over. We will not be returning and I definitely would not recommend this place to others."

"As you walk in you immediately appreciate the beautiful building, sympathetically restored. As it was half term, the cafe was extremely busy with a lovely buzz. Although busy, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and pleasant greetings. There is plenty of choice on the menu from soup, a variety of sandwiches/wraps to salads and baked potatoes, to name but a few of the options! As my friend and I had visited quite a few times before, we knew the portions were extremely generous so opted to share a sandwich in order to have one of the beautiful home made cakes. The bread was fresh with a substantial filling. This was followed by a slice of carrot cake and lemon cake- delicious! We also appreciated the big pot of tea which meant we were able to have several cupfuls each, all in beautiful china teacups. In my opinion, the food is very reasonably priced and we are already looking forward to our next visit!"

"Fantastic Sunday lunch with the family, I have celiac so am unable to eat wheat or gluten. Eating out can sometimes be difficult but not at the Nags Head, nothing was to much trouble for the staff and the landlord came over personally and explained the gluten fee menu to me. The food was fantastic and such good value, we will definitely be back! Thank you to all the staff for making our visit so enjoyable"

"I live local to this coffee shop and also my childrens school is as good as next door so its a great meeting place for a catch up with the mums'. Lovely food, all cooked fresh. Good selection of drinks too. Childrens meals very reasonable...and plentiful. The same people own the chip shop next door so you get the option of hot, fresh fish and chips too!! Comfy seating with plenty to read and spotlessly clean."

"We went to Anise after a long 3 hour drive looking for some dinner. Upon walking in, we saw that all food options could be altered to be vegan, none of us are vegan but we thought the accommodation was brilliant. We were seen to quickly despire not booking, and our starters came. The presentation of the food was gorgeous and the food itself was great. Although they were simple dishes, they were dishes that could have easily gone wrong, but they were perfect. We ordered our mains, and yet again the food was perfect and the presentation was also perfect. I genuinely have no criticism. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely, although more on the quiet side, everyone seemed happy and it uplifted our spirits too. The staff are kind and happy to help. We enjoyed everything thoroughly, and would definitely come here again if we were in the area."

"eating? delicious. presentation? inconceivable. personal behaviou? friendly, mature and overall excellent. price? suitable. at the covid 19 restrictions? acceptable. timing? there I had to think if I should adjust my assessment. Now don't get me wrong, it's not like I waited two hours to eat. it was within a reasonable time, and I suspect that the presentation for eating takes some time. but if they go there for food and expect to leave within an hour, not. it is not pub, and it is certainly not mcdonald’s. you have to wait until you have a good meal. on the other hand, I have to give the staff 10/10. one of the bartenders who had mixed my cocktail (aviation) had asked me personally to say that he is aware that he accidentally used another liqueur (black berry instead of vanille) and that he would be happy to restore it with the right liqueur. but since I had never had this drink before I had not recognized the difference, I had it, it tasted delicious and I had no complaints. 10/10 to the personal."

"Having originally gone to the Crafty Dragon pub nearby and left due to not getting our food after an hour wait, we went here and could not have received better service! On arrival we asked the manageress if there was a wait on food because we had waited for over an hour elsewhere. We were informed that there was no wait but she also brought us free dough balls after we were seated before we even ordered anything to help calm our appetites! From here we continued to receive fantastic service, letting us know which meals would take longer to make and they checked on us regularly throughout our visit. Food was brought quickly and tasted great! I don't normally write reviews but felt this restaurant deserved a mention as it is the best restaurant experience we have had for a long time!"

"The lady at the restaurant was very rude. She refused to serve me at the bar and told me that they only offer table service. I sat down and waited to be served, but I watched her serve other customers who had just walked in at the bar. When I went back to the bar to ask for a cocktail for me and my friend, she served other people ahead of us before finally serving us. The atmosphere was really weird and I couldn't understand what her problem was. Overall, the service and atmosphere were both rated a 1."
