there is no good ventilation in the restaurant hall to pull smoke from the grill and strong fondue odor. eating is well prepared. the service is good.

The food was really good and the menu changed each day. Set prices of euros for one course or for two courses (some supplements applied). A good wine list from euros to euros a bottle! We ate in the hotel evenings out of

Hotel Macchi is a star hotel. Having aperitive in the lounge is very pricey but very cosy. Then the buffet for lunch with deer civet for the adults and savoyard burger for the children, after great choice of starters with meat, cheese and even...seafood.

the chef carlo crisci offers such specialities: mille leaves of veal and arnad bacon, in superimposed layers of wizard and fat, tuilago with full beans, puré of ratato, glase of meat, garlic made; foie gras and vegetables served in hermetically closed glass jar to preserve the aromatic intensity of the ingredients;

El chef Carlo Crisci ofrece sus especialidades: Milhojas de ternera y tocino de Arnad, en capas superpuestas de magro y grasa, tusilago con morillas rellenas, puré de patatas ratte, glasa de carne, ajos confitados; el potaje de foie gras y verduras servido en tarro de cristal herméticamente cerrado para preservar la intensidad aromática de los ingredientes; el mosaico de bacalao fresco y buey de mar – triángulos del pescado prácticamente crudos, rellenos del marisco y forrados con láminas de puerro, dispuesto en plano y a lo alto – que se acompañan con salsa de oxálida, entre otras delicias.

Ok so this restaurant is not for everyday the menus are plus unless you have the daily special which is prepared principaly for hotel clients good but meagre portions. Ok for my wife but I have left still feeling I could have...eaten more. But the service and attention to detail is second to none. The Cerf room is intimate and very nicely decorated and the whole establishment oozes class. I see they have a midday buffet now which is very reasonable have't tried that but will do if it is on offer in the future. Beware the drinks prices however! for a glass of wine... I guess you arre paying for the environment as well...

a wonderful dinner with friends in a quiet and demanding atmosphere. first class aperitifs (the local beer is excellently served with plenty of warmth. the menu is sufficiently varied, with traditional savoiyard dishes to get out as well as the daily menu, that was the...reason we were there. delicious and colorful tomato buffalo salat, followed by a smoked aloyau steak unusual and tasty. sorbet to finish pineapple, another first for me. very imaginative menu for the gourmands. service impeccable, friendly, attentive and yet discreet. the wine list is also great. highly recommended. a luxurious ambiente in the beautiful hotel.

we have gedimt in this restaurant several times during our stay in chatel and it was always a nice experience. the personal is really attentive and eating was always great. the restaurant is very beautifully decorated and the whole experience is. great they feel that they really care about eating and also taking care of them. they speak very well English, which was very helpful, as one of our group has a food allergy and they were only too happy to talk to the cook to make sure that eating was proper for them to eat. I would not have thought to recommend this restaurant. it is quite expensive, but as the saying says, they get what they pay!

We turned up at the hotel only to be told that they could not find our booking which I had made on the telephone some days in advance. I was worried that they would turn us away but the lady on reception was most hospitable...and worked quickly to explain the format for the evening and to find us a table. The restaurant was lively and busy with guests but the staff were most welcoming and looked after us with exceptional care and attention. We thought the menu for the evening was rather over priced at euros per person and were expecting something more exciting than we were given.
