"Have vacationed in Altea for the month of November. We’ve visited Altea many times before but always by the marina area. On our 1st morning in Altea this year we vacationed just off Calle del Conde de Altea and on our way to find the Mercadona we ran into El Copernico, the perfect place to drop in for a cafe con leche and baguette. We had the great privilege of meeting Pilar. We were amazed that Pilar does it all! Makes all the coffees fresh and the food, cleans up and does the dishes! Pilar’s personality and service are a rare find not to mention her delicious food. You are assured you are getting fresh food as early a.m. you can see Pilar with her shopping bag picking up that days food from the fresh meat market down the street or at Consum. El Copernico became our regular breakfast establishment. The light music varies from jazz to oldies. El Copernico is a must try. It is located just a minute from the Garganes Tram station heading towards Calle del Conde de Altea towards the sea front! If you stop by tell her April say hi from Florida!"

"We had a great meal here, creative spin on traditional local dishes. The atmosphere is traditional and enhanced by the giant centrepiece of a huge stine olive oil press and a compliment of fotos. The service was excellent. We were treated to a considerate, professional yet friendly evening by Toni. He not only made sure we had everything needed and also answered many questions about food, wine and culture. Couldn't have been better!"

"Pedimos unos langostinos y una ensalada y luego el pollo. con sésamo. El sésamo lo estamos buscando aún... Unos trozos enanos de pollo rebozado.. y un montón de lechuga. La ensalada de lo más normal y los langostinos estaban bien pero con un montón otra vez de lechuga. Mucho verde y poca chicha. Pero lo peor fue el trato de una camarera.. Nos trajo parte de la vuelta en monedas de céntimos de 1 y 2 céntimos. Un detalle feísimo...se lo dijimos y no nos hizo ni caso... En cambio con los ingleses se desvivian. En definitiva un sitio que jamás volveré ni lo recomendaré."
