"This restaurant near the brucken center, The address is - Goetheplatz 1 - 91522 Ansbach Phone - 0981 / 877 22What a wonderful place! Dragan Stankovic and his wife own and operate this restaurant, and they make a wonderful team! With wit and charm Dragan invites guests in, seats them, takes drink and food orders, and makes them feel as thought they are the only patrons in the dining room. His wife does all the cooking in an immaculately clean, and well organized kitchen in back.Dragan is Croatian, and his wife is German, he speaks very little English, however communication is not an issue. They have an English menu, and he uses very creative gestures to get his points across. In fact we even used his pen and paper to draw pictures to talk about his 39 year marriage to his wife.By the end of our first visit to their restaurant, we felt like family. As we walked towards the exit he hugged and kissed each of us on the cheek, he even jumped on a chair to hug a very tall person in our party. He stuffed our hands with chocolates and sent us on our way, feeling full and totally satisfied with our visit. A few months later we returned, Dragon seemed to remember our group! Again we had another wonderful experience! We have lived in Ansbach for 2 years and are now moving back to the states and we will miss visiting with Dragon and eating at the wonderful place that he and his wife own.Recommended dishes - on the English menu Appetizers - the house plate for 2 is huge and enough for 4 or 5 peoplethe breaded hot sheep’s cheese is wonderfulthe garlic bread and sauces are greatand last but not least are the marinated sweet red peppers!Main menu - #68 is pork with a garlic sauce which is sssoooo good, French fries, rice and a salad. I have also had the veal, and lamb which also great! they offer desserts, however by that time we have always been so full we have not ordered.Prices are reasonable, as a group of 4 with drinks appetizers and main course it was about 65 euros."

"Review for North American Visitors. Disclaimer: This review is written for a person that never visited Germany before. Skip this review if you are a well seasoned traveler. Bottom Line Up Front: Highly recommend this hotel. The hotel is in the middle of the historic downtown. The staff are extremely friendly, accommodating, and speak perfect English. Review: I have been staying here for almost a month (out of my 60 days reservation) and I am thoroughly happy with my stay. This hotel is both a restaurant that serves authentic german food (downstair) and hotel (upstairs). The building is historic but the owner did a excellent job at preserving the history while modernizing and upgrading the building with modern amenities. For example, every room has a keypad door (no need to hassle on those magnetic room card), broadband/fast wifi, LED lighting, and LCD TVs. The furniture is modern/contemporary. PROs: -Location: You are in the middle of downtown Ansbach. This mean everything is within walking distance from shopping, eating, parks, etc. -Professional Staff: The staff members are professional and accommodating. I believe the owner has both an educational and professional background working in the hotel/hospitality industry and this hotel reflects her experience. -EV Charger: I saw that they have two types of EV charger (to include a Tesla one). -Parking: Parking space is extremely limited here in Germany. Luckily, the hotel has parking. There are 4 spots in front and you can reserve a space for a small fee (I think $12 a day which is extremely reasonable and affordable). There is a large public parking in the back and other parking space (hourly charges) nearby. CONs (These are no fault to the hotel. It is more of a German cultural thing). -HVAC: Not every room has an Air Conditioner or a fan. It can be a little warm in the summer. Recommend you bring a small USB travel type fan with you or buy a cheap fan at the local convenience store. -Fridge: Not every room has a refrigerator. You need to request a room with one if you insist. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my stay. The entire staff is so warm and welcoming. I hope you find this review helpful."
