"We stumbled across this gem of a pub while camping in the area. It’s off the beaten track in a small village. We were greeted by a cheerful guy behind the bar, he was helpful and made us feel very welcome, the young lady who served us was also lovely, she ensured we had all we wanted and checked on us a couple of times. The food is out of this world! Excellent pub grub with a few twists, I had the “Mother Clucker” and my wife had the best fish and chips she’s ever had! The kids loved their menu, it’s quite cleverly written, offers loads of options including vegetarian and healthy choices as well as the usuals. A vegan friend was pleasantly surprised with the choice, no vegan burgers in sight!! she settled on the Veganic wrap, which she loved! Outside there is a great kids play area which kept the kids entertained for a good while, dogs are welcome in the pub and on the patio, but not in the play area, which is a great idea, we know the the kids are able to run around without liking out for poo! If you are looking for a chilled family/ dog friendly pub with great food and fabulous staff, then this is the place to visit!"
