"We came here for dessert pancakes that were delicious even if really not very copyy at all. After reading all the good reviews about the kindness of the staff, I was a little disappointed, but not surprised because I heard that I did not expect a warm and friendly service in france. we didn't realize that it was a few minutes before 9:00 p.m. (Since it remains so clear a lot later here), it is at that moment that they close, so honestly, maybe it was just "on the tourists" for the day! Tasty pancakes however!"

"not too big restaurant resembling a caviste. the service is welcoming and very friendly. Even if the kitchen was not yet open, we could already sit down to have a drink. I then chose the menu. the entrance was absolutely delicious, sort of croissant with goat cheese mousse. the main dish was the choice between a tuna steak or a lamb. I chose tuna steak. It was well prepared. with the intercoast a vegetable and couscous ratatouille. It was a great combination. Cold pepper a little less. but tastes differ. dessert was also very well, ice with warm blown. the restaurant is also in a nice place and the prices are good."

"After arriving late to the small town of Bayeux, we decided to walk to town near where our room was located. The first place we stumbled upon was Restaurant Campanile Bayeux. This is situated apart from the hotel of which it is part of and at first glance seemed rather empty. However once we entered it was decently full of other diners at this late hour (about 9:30 pm). The staff spoke enough English for us to get by. The restaurant serves buffet style for one flat price. You can also order off a menu. My husband ordered the salmon which was served hot and cooked just right. I ordered the buffet as I wanted soup and salad. The soup was a wonderful chicken vegetable and the salad was one you could prepare to your liking with lots of greens, carrots, boiled egg, cheese, tomatoes, bread and butter. It was just what I wanted. There was also some heartier fare like quiche. Pate was served right away too. There was a variety of desserts including mouse, tarts, cookies, cakes and all were wonderful. I think the only reason I don't rate this higher is we really wanted to find something that had more atmosphere considering the location we were in and this really has more of a off-highway type of feeling. It was very clean, staff was excellent and friendly."

"I think the previous bad reviews are from earlier in the year before the 80th D Day events. I had dinner tonight and it was really good. We didn’t book but they fitted us in. I’m scared of tourist traps and this wasn’t the cheapest but the staff are amazing and fast. The food tasted great and I had a vegetarian omelette omitting the jambon) served with home made frites and a beautifully dressed green salad perfectly seasoned . Hubby had great moule marinaire and we were very happy. Multi lingual staff and clean toilets !"

"I came to sit at the bar at 1:00 and the place was busy - a good sign. I was well received and I was told that there would be a little waiting for food because of the number of people. It was very useful because I was on my lunch break. I ended up having a ham and cheese baguette, which was very good, and a local cider bottle. the culminating point of the visit was to meet and discuss with dara who at the same time listens and has stories to share. it directs a place with a good welcoming atmosphere and is a sociable person. I will certainly be back!"

"Have been here before a couple of years ago and enjoyed our meal. This time we turned up for lunch near the end of a busy session but were still smilingly offered a table.Thè restaurant is an individually run establishment which qualifies for the fait maison government regulated scheme. It is always worth looking for the logo. To qualify the establishment must make/cook as much of the food as possible from fresh and not simply reheat or use industrial mass produced products.2 of our party went for the formule and the bulots (whelks or sea snails) where excellent as was the homemade mayonaise. The steaks were honest bavette a cheaper cut very common all over france but a tasty one and on a 17.90 euro menu for 3 courses all that can reasonably be expected. Ours were perfectly cooked and the frites were made from fresh potato not from the freezer. The other dish in our party was cod from the a la carte menu a generous thiçk cut fillet again properly cooked. Desserts were standard fayre. The restaurant is small and when busy tight for space but it has an authentic feel. Service was very good and friendly.This is not fine dining but an honest authentic eating experience clearly with a kitchen team who know what they are doing."

"C'ets pas la 1 er fois que nous somme déçu , on a déjà eu des problème avec des sandwichs qui n'était pas les bon on a rapeller car l'erreur est humaine on y retourne je prend un poulet moutarde comme d'habitude je regarde dedant et la surprise 2 petit morceau de poulet même dans les salade il y en a plus . Au prix du sandwich sa serai normal que il y est un minimum d'ongrdien la j'ai payer pour du pain trois morceau de feuille de salade et deux petit petit morceau de poulet !! Vraiment déçu au prix qu'on paye !!! La photo parle d'elle même !"

"À fuir ! Nullement gastronomique. Vendu 2 bières de 33cl, alors que nous avons eu que 25cl dans un verre à vin. A peine 1/4 de la carte était disponible. Assiette terre et mère avec 2 bulots, un peu de saumon, 3 crevettes et une tranche de jambon sec, plat catastrophique, pain rassi. Une tarte normande n'est pas une tarte tatin !! Super cher pour la qualité."

"We spent a week in bayeux and ate here four times. delicious hamburgers and pizzas. My husband, my grandmother, my 5-year-old daughter and I loved each time. The service is a little slow because it's a small place and always busy but it's worth waiting. Moreover, a large part of bayeux is often closed and pizza sam always seemed open. ignore the weak notes. good food for a reasonable price. The staff is super nice and nice."

"We had the last pizza that night because they prepare pasta every day. 22h arrived after fiasco at the start of bets. We walked from our hotel in the quiet streets of bayeux, found this place and ten minutes later, we sat in front of the cathedral on a bench eating the best pizza of our trip and drinking heineken cans. We had the cathedral for ourselves and enjoyed the cheapest dinner of our two weeks in europe. super young men, very little English, no matter what!"

"this restaurant is just across from the cathedral and maybe 3 minutes walk from the city centre. they have some fixed-priced menus, including one where you can choose any aperitif, any main dish and any dessert. all fixed-priced menus are much cheaper than ordering on the map. We got the chicken and the duck. both prepared perfectly and were delicious. I had the foie gras in the entrance that was also excellent. Please book here. We saw at least 10 people trying to enter and even with open tables, they were repressed. the restaurant wants to do an excellent job (what they do!) on the people they serve. Obviously, they have excellent choice of wines. a good menu with many selections."

"Without our knowledge, there was only one Chinese restaurant in a 50 km radius around the place we stayed. we were discouraged by entering because there were no customers inside (but good sign). However (!!), the food was incredibly delicious and the friendly boss told us about nearby attractions. benefits: authentic Chinese food incredibly delicious! very friendly service and delicious mango (drink)! drawbacks: prepare for a long waiting time because there is only one cook (probably the husband because it is a family restaurant). We were starved at the time the food was there. the portions are too small but we soon realized that it was something that all French Chinese restaurants were doing. Chinese: Don't be surprised by the small portions of food! Just make sure you order more at first. But this place is legitimate! Not to be missed! we came back three times:)"

"I went there on a Saturday night when there were only 3 tables including our catch. because there was no one the service was fast or too fast. The staff spent their time looking at what was pretty annoying. I chose a ham-egg cake. It's one of the cheapest on the map and I didn't take anything else, I felt it wasn't a good idea for the waitress. For the cake it's barely if I had a slice of whole ham and only an egg, or at least the egg yellow. The only taste I felt was the oil so much the cake was impregnated. there are better crêperies on bayeux, the unusual is more a default restaurant."

"We chose this restaurant to eat fried mussels. Unfortunately, there was no more, so we took something else. Both salmon tagliatelles were relatively good, as well as the bar net. But we found some dishes quite expensive (steak chopped at 16€50). A mention to the young man who served us from beginning to end, who is very kind and very professional"

"De passage à Bayeux, nous avons déjeuné en famille mon mari et mes deux filles. Nous avons bien mangé. Le seul petit bémol c'est les frites qui sont gorgé d'huile dommage et la formule enfants avec seulement jambon beurre mais nous avons pris un formule panini avec une frite qu'elle se sont partagées. Je recommande tout de même pour la qualité prix c'est très bien ."

"The oliverade is a little jewel. a wonderful Italian fine grocery store - a rarity itself in provincial france, with fantastic fresh pasta and anti-pasti to take away, but also an excellent restaurant for lunch. this place is only open on the noon and has only about 10 seats inside but about 20 to 25 outside. my husband had a charolais steak tartare with tagliatelles and a green salad that, although a slightly strange combination, was exceptional. I had chicken ravioli with green salad and balsamic vinaigrette. It was a refreshing change compared to the creamy and standard Norman cuisine and I will certainly take friends to visit in a few weeks, as well as ourselves whenever we visit bayeux. the extra bonus is that because we bought food at the charcuterie, we can recreate the experience ourselves tomorrow night!"

"We have just spent four nights at Chateau de Sully with friends as part of a small group tour of the Normandy D Day beaches. The hotel is perfectly located for this, although you do need a car, and is also only a few miles from the beautiful town of Bayeux with it's famous tapestry which is well worth a visit. The hotel is set in beautifully kept grounds with a large terrace with lots of seating at the rear. I haven't put a review on TripAdvisor for some time but felt this hotel deserved it as some of the past reviews have been somewhat critical. An up-date is due. It is clear that the hotel have recently addressed many of the criticisms and as a result has improved considerably. The public areas have been refurbished and the bar and restaurant are now bright, modern and comfortable areas. The staff on reception could not have been more helpful sorting out additional restaurant reservations and taxis for us and generally answering any questions we had. The food at the hotel continues to be excellent. Dinner was a gastronomic experience with several small beautifully presented tasting courses as well as the main dishes. Breakfasts were superb. Set out buffet style but with plenty of fresh choice: lovely breads, fresh fruit, cold and hot options and a very helpful member of staff if you needed anything else. The hotel also provided us with plentiful picnic bags for each day, including soft drinks, water and wine. The one weak spot continues to be the bedrooms which are somewhat dated. However we had a large super king sized bed, new bedlinen, fluffy towels in the bathroom and all was spotless. Our room was very close to the road and although I'm a light sleeper I wasn't disturbed by traffic noise at all. We didn't have time to use the pool but I believe this has also been recently refurbished."

"patricia of the bayeux hotel recommended this restaurant and we were not disappointed! We arrived 30 minutes before the opening and were chased. I point out that the local guide said they opened at 6:30 p.m. and they said "the book was false and it was not his problem"! we walked a little and came back quickly at 7:00. we were given a very nice table and our waitress was very cordial and explained what the different dishes were (we don't know French.) we were more than satisfied with our selection of dishes and wines. At the end of the meal, the waitress brought a sealed bottle of calvados and said she was on the house. I assumed she meant that we could each take a picture, but she literally meant that we could drink the whole bottle. I loved it, but my wife wasn't so much. recommend this restaurant to all those who visit bayeux!"
