"In the small Birkenauer district you can find book blades. This inn is the start, endpoint of many beautiful larger and smaller hiking routes through the Odenwald. After a nice, well signposted 1 hour hike from Weinheimer Burg Wachenburg, we arrived starved at the noon in Gasthaus Zum Grün Baum. The hiking trail we used is part of the European long-distance hiking trail E1, on the way we enjoyed and fantastic views in desperate valleys, large scattered meadows and in good weather to the hills of the Palatinate forest. In the green tree you can be pampered with good home cooking and self-celled apple wine, the apple wine/ juice is traditionally crocheted from fruits of the adjacent sprouts A children's playground is located next to the large gardens, which is shaded in the summer by Platans and chestnuts The menu ranges from Odenwälder specialties such as cooking cheese/hand cheese.. about various schnitzel variations, Rumpsteak,Vesperteller,Kaffee and cakes as well ice cream. This is supplemented by various day offers. We opted for: carving with onion sauce 8.20 euros with bread for supplements and salad each approx. 2,50 euros extra. hunter carving with potatoes 8,20 Euro large day soup with grießnockerln 4,00 Euro and 1 serving of Pommes 2,20 Euro added an apple juice choir 0.5 l for 3,10 Euro; Lemonenlimo 0.5l for 3,10 Euro; and 1l bottle of water at 3,50 Euro everything was tasty and the prices of Anno added, all not star-densed, but good and the portions rich, no wonder the inn was very well visited."
