"This lunchtime I popped into Caffe Nero Skipton and was served by Harry , who you have the misfortune of having appointed assistant manager .When I approached the counter I asked for my usual A large white Americano to take away. Harry turned away and did not acknowledge he had understood my order so I assumed he had. As always I made my way along towards the till to pay, I realised I had a loyalty voucher to use on your app. Just as I was about to open the app, an incoming call came through on my mobile. I had no intention of answering it, but was equally struggling to open the app while the phone was ringing. Harry remarked: Let me know once you 're off your phone . No sooner had he said that than the called hung up and the app opened, so I scanned it on the till and asked if it had gone through. Harry ignored me, so I assumed because the scanner bleeped that it had, and proceeded to take the drink to the podium to add sugar.Harry then exclaimed: Where are you going? I 've not done nothing yet [sic]. By this time, I had opened my drink and noticed he had given me completely the wrong drink. A latte of some sort. I said I am sorry I am not sure this is the right drink . He said that 's what you asked for . So I said no, I did not it was a large Americano. He begrudgingly poured the latte away and begun to make me my order. This time I was presented with a regular, so I asked for a large. Another grunt. Finally, I was presented with an absolutely burning hot cup of black americano filled to the brim to the point I could not move it off the counter and not add milk. I did remark at this point: If you could please listen to what I am asking for then we would not have all this confusion To which Harry barked at me If you get arsey with me I 'll stop serving you I was so upset at this point that I felt scared to ask him if I could have some milk. But nonetheless I asked for some cold milk: So you did want milk then? I got as a response, and he provided me milk in a small espresso cup. Finally, the cup was so full I asked Harry 's colleague if I could have a 3rd cup to pour some of it into so I could add milk. I did ask to speak to the manager in store but it was No, not in and Harry was too busy to speak to me also. How dare this member of staff think it is acceptable to lambaste and question a customer, while in the meantime use such colloquial and unprofessional language? Can you also make Harry aware that an acknowledgement of a customer should be yes please and no thank you as opposed to nice one as he continually said to customers to their bemusement!"

"Having read reviews on TripAdvisor I had some trepidation stopping here and though we didn't have any issues there is a fundamental problem for the Tearoom workers that causes so much friction/trouble. The car park here is one of 3 on the Bolton Abbey Estate visitors can use to access the walking routes. Unfortunately, access to these car parks comes with a single £15 charge. No problem, if you have paid at one of the said 3 for that access but if stopping at the Tearooms just for the tearoom or gift shop you still have to pay which obviously no one wants to do just to have a cup of tea etc. The poor staff are constantly fighting the same battle with such visitors and the mistake that has been made is unlike say the RHS Gardens in Harrogate where you can visit Betty's Tearoom without having to pass through a manned separate entrance, here the staff are covering both the cafe and the car park access charge. There is no charge for accessing the walking routes or Abbey just the car park so as a business model it's a disaster. Beyond this frankly dumb method it appears the staff are a little fraught and edgy as we witnessed curt responses to queries regarding food availability (non). Outside the seating is broken/old and inside there is little seating and a disorganised feel to the layout and what can be bought in both gifts and food. It's a bit of a car crash all around basically."
