"This is one of my favorite haunts in Darmstadt. The deli offerings are huge and diverse from quality prepackaged pastas sauces, olive oils, dried herbs, sweets, and other condiments, snacks, amazing coffee ground or as beans, European wines, to the fresh charcuterie, cheeses,...and antipasti to be washed down with a delectable wine. The deli counter makes for a light but delicious meal together with the fresh artisanal bread, or focaccia sandwiches and lunch time soup specials. The wine list by the glass is varied with some great wines. About once a month there is also a live jazz band which creates a great atmosphere. This is also one of my favorite places to buy cases of wines the staff are extremely knowledgeable and have recommended some great wines to pair with food. As I said it’s a gem, well worth a visit"

"Find a small Japanese Korean restaurant in the Kapellplatz district. In clean, reduced Japanese style furnished with dark furniture. Unfortunately, the tables and chairs are very tight, so it was quite loud and could be entertained only under difficult conditions. The place was full, so we had to wait until a place was assigned to us, the service was friendly but reserved as it is the Japanese way. After we finally sat we ordered: Misosuppe very spicy good seaweed salad with horseradish dressing very good. after that there was a cooked tuna reel delicious Tempura Magurorolle,Unagi Mai Aal, 1Sushi Plate Nigiris and Inside Out Rolls good, 1 plate Nigiris with avocados, all tastefully good to very good, but the portions could be somewhat larger. My two companions thought without appetizers they would not have been fed up, for me it was enough. For this we drank ginsentee with honey amazingly good and it warmed so nice in the wet cold weather outside. Next time we would like to try the Korean specialties."

"I had read up on the restaurant online since I needed to find something that had a gluten-free option and would also accommodate my garlic/onion etc allergies. After calling them briefly to confirm, I decided to give them a try. I was not disappointed. Upon entering, I was quickly seated and the owner even recognized my voice from the phone call about 2 hours earlier. They sent a waiter, to help me with the menu and suggest a wine; we decided on lemon risotto with grilled Dorade. Before the main course, I received an appetizer on the house. The main dish looked amazing and the very little I tried tasted fantastic. Unfortunately, since the risotto had chives, I wasn't actually able to eat it. It was quickly removed and a second plate with fish, veggies, and mashed potatoes appeared in no time. Everything looked and tasted wonderful. At no point did the very caring and knowledgeable staff ever made me feel as if I was a bother. In fact, even though the place was packed, multiple of the waiters took the time to come over and to talk to me about the food and their travels to the US. This is an amazing place and if I ever end up in Darmstadt again, I will make sure to go back."

"Das Red Barn ist teilweise sehr voll, nachdem wir letztens keinen Platz bekommen haben, hatte es nun spontan geklappt. Die Einrichtung passt zum Namen, und soll an die Western/frontier Zeit der USA erinnern. Der Service war super, wir wurden schnell bedient und auch bis die Getränke und das Essen auf dem Tisch standen, ist nicht viel Zeit vergangen. Allerdings war auch nicht viel los, da es noch früher Abend war. Der Burger mit Pommes kam in einem Korb. Das sieht schön aus, ist beim Essen jedoch etwas nervig. Das Patty war Medium wie bestellt und der Burger schmeckte gut. Die Pommes sind “fresh cut“, also mit Schale, sehr lecker. Es gibt zudem Nordamerikanische Biersorten zur Auswahl, insgesamt empfehlenswert."

"I've been there three times, with good spacing in between. The first time it was really below average. Second time, everything was great. Third time, below average again. Even when it was great, did not taste like authentic Portuguese food. I know that the owners...are Portuguese, but somehow they are catering for the German taste, not the Portuguese one. Understandable, of course, but very disappointing. With very few exceptions the food in this place is just like in any other German restaurant. over, between me and my friends, we tried half a dozen of rice dishes. The rice always came undercooked and underseasoned. Very disappointing. The bolinhos de bacalhau fried cod fish balls and grilled octopus are very good. The caldo verde is bland and too oily. The rest is not bad, but not memorable. The service is good, the prices are higher than one would expect to pay for such dishes. I am a very big fan of Portuguese food and I really tried to love this place, but it just isn't up to the name"

"Wir waren gestern in der alten Scheune der Grohe Brauerei. Insgesamt 10 Personen über 50 Jahre. Wir haben noch nie so schlecht gegessen. Die meisten Essen gingen zurück in die Küche, ungenießbar. Ich hatte einen Zwiebelrostbraten, das waren zwei Stück paniertes!! Fleisch total blutig mit einer undefinierbaren hellenbraunen Soße, die Zwiebeln waren paniert!!, hart und trocken. Andere hatten Züricher Geschnezeltes, alles war eine pampige Masse, die Rösti lagen ganz unten und waren durchgeweicht, das Fleisch war hart und die Pilzsoße nicht zu definieren. Das Grillhähnchen war paniert!! Offensichtlich soll durch das Pnieren der Speisen Qualitäts- und Geschmacksmängel verdeckt werden.Der Koch wurde aus der Küche gerufen und meinte die Gäste wollen es so!!! ich meine der Koch hat seinen Beruf verfehlt. Einziger Lichtblick, die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und das Bier war gut."

"Wo soll man anfangen, man kommt rein und hat direkt ein super Gefühl. Man wird freundschaftlich und herzlich begrüßt, jeder Wunsch wird umgesetzt und es wird sich toll um einen gesorgt. Beim Essen merkt man sofort, hier wird mit Herz gekocht. Nichts ist 08/15, alles wird frisch zubereitet und geschmacklich wirklich super! Geschmacklich ist alles ein bisschen in Richtung Barbecue ausgelegt, heißt schön würzig, kräftiger Geschmack und gerne auch etwas schärfer. Nicht das typische Burgerrestaurant, aber um mit Freunden bei schönen Wetter was zu essen, genau das Richtige! Vom sitzen her vor allem etwas für draußen, da drinnen nicht so viel Platz ist. Kann man nur weiterempfehlen!"

"Den Hype um dieses Restaurant kann ich manchmal gar nicht verstehen. Nach einigen Jahren Pause war ich auf Wunsch meiner Familie letzte Woche wieder einmal im Delfino. Wir bestellten eine Fischplatte mit Spaghetti und Gemüse für 4 Personen. Eigentlich mochte ich keinen Fisch mit Spaghetti, aber die Chefin lässt ja grundsätzlich keine anderen Meinungen zu. Als meine Tante wagte, nachzufragen, was es denn für ein Fisch ist, bekam sie eine schnippische und etwas arrogante Antwort von der Chefin. Die Fischteilchen auf der Platte waren einfach gegrillt, ebenso das Gemüse (Paprika, Zucchini) und die Spaghetti trieften im Öl. So eine Fischplatte bekommt man auch in einem billigen Touristenlokal am spanischen Strand. Als Vorspeise bestellte ich ein Carpaccio mit Trüffel, wobei man hier den Trüffel nur erahnen konnte. Das einzige gute war der Nachtisch (Tiramisu). Die Kellner waren sehr nett und aufmerksam, aber die Chefin könnte sich mehr in Zurückhaltung und Freundlichkeit üben und sollte nicht immer ihre Gäste massiv davon überzeugen zu wollen, was diese bestellen sollen.Auch sehr störend ist die Lautstärke in diesem Restaurant. Es ist sehr anstrengend, sich mit anderen am Tisch zu unterhalten.Leider hatte ich schon mehrfach in der Vergangenheit dort die gleichen Erlebnisse, deshalb kommt dieses Restaurant für mich nicht mehr in Frage."

"Danny is one of my favorite delivery service. I had the experience that my order wasn't complete. They forgot my beverage twice. Once the deliverer was so kind and asked me if he should come again but I denied it and he cut the bill....The next time I didn't check the delivery. So after my first bite I realized that they forgot my beverage again. I didn't call to complain right after because I didn't mind and it was my fault as well. I could've checked the delivery. Anyway, the Burger was too delicious to complain The next time when I ordered I was just remarking (not complaining) not to forget my beverage again. The operator was very nice and professional and advised me to call right after if this is going to happen again. Then he gave me big bottle for free as compensation, which I didn't expect from him to do that. Well that's customer-friendly isn't it?!? Now that's the reason why I love Danny's burger more! Tasty, Professional and Customer-Friendly! Good work!!!"

"Wir waren an einem Abend dort zu zweit zum Essen, es war ein Samstag. Das Restaurant war nicht ausgebucht. Leider wird man gleich beim Eintreten von einer sterilen Atmosphäre überrascht und es wirkt alles nicht sehr gemütlich. Die Karte ist typisch Griechisch und wird durch ei paar Fisch-Spezialitäten ergänzt. Wir hatten eine Vorspeise, ein Paar welches nach usn ins Lokal kam hat die Hauptspeise vor unserer Vorspeise bekommen! insgesamt hat es sehr lange gedauert, die Bedienung war überfordert. Der typische Tomaten-Reis ist nicht auf der Karte."

"Rumpelstilzchen is a rustic restaurant with a very extensive menu, e.g. German food, Italian food, Greek food, burgers. To be honest, I usually don’t like places that try to cater for every taste and offer all different kinds of dishes. But all the food we had was good! The vegan options were as follows: four different vegan pizzas (very thin and crispy dough, no vegan cheese but creative toppings , two salads, two different vegan stuffed eggplants, and also some noodle dishes that should be vegan (Pasta Aglio e Olio, Pasta all Arrabiata… and sweet potato fries. On some days they offer different discounts, e.g. for students, on drinks, on main dishes... check their website. Staff is very friendly, nice rustic atmosphere!"

"Always worth a visit. The Ratskeller in Darmstadt invites you to stay. Whether in the original ambience inside. Here you can take place around the counter in the entrance area, in the rear separate area for food or in the upper floor. In beautiful weather it is worth a place on the marketplace. "The Greek restaurant Poseidon is located on Kennedy Square. It is therefore very easy to reach by tram. It makes a very chic, noble impression from the outside. Nevertheless, it seems rustic. in the interior you sit very pleasant. The room design was really successful. Each table is separated from the other tables by a small white wall. As a result, the noise level is lowered audibly and one does not appear to be observed. The operators are always very friendly and have a lot of sense of humor. A small speciality is as I find, the magnifying glasses, which are best served to every guest who cannot read the small-printed menu added. Waiting for food can take a little longer, but then it tastes really 1a. My favorite dish is Poseidon's plate, where you can find delicious Gyros, subtle Zaziki, a spicy lumbar, a lamb chop and a pig steak. The price-performance ratio could not be better, I was already tired after 3/4 of the plate. Oh yes, the toilets are very clean and it was ensured for best hygiene. This restaurant of special kind has, I think, deserves more than 5 stars, because everything tastes very good and the location is also something very special."

"We had a reservation and was here with my wife for dinner on Nov Their food is no doubt good, there are varieties of fish dishes you can get. They serve some salad and very thin pizza bread with olive oil which is...in some way is included in the cost of the dishes. The restaurant was completely full and some people were coming in even after I liked the rabbithare meat which was there as a day special menu. My wife had ordered a lamb dish but it was hard and fibrous, she didn't like it. There were two gentlemen and two ladies both with shortheight, one was wearing specs and the other without looking after the guests. The lady with the specs was taking care of our table. We were entertained normally until our order was placed and after that the attitude of the lady with the specs was like 'ok, fine now complete eating, pay and leave whenever you like'. Generally in Germany, someone will come to your table, after being served and ask schmeckt gut?.....nothing of that sort here! We couldn't finish all of our food and had asked that lady to pack our food. She made a strange face, looking displeased, and just took away our dishes. She came back later with one packet containing all our leftover inside. Yes my wife and me had ordered different dishes and both of the leftover were put together and given to us.! What?? Later we paid our bill along with some tips. Again no thank you, no signs of gratitude. I am not sure if we will be coming back to this restaurant again"

"It is a first class Italian restaurant with emphasis on perfection of traditional meals. Outstanding in Darmstadt! Nothing for individuals that have not learned to appreciate quality and amibtion in dining. Compared to Gianni in Mannheim and Carmelo Greco in Frankfurt as other top list...Italian restaurants in the region, the atmosphere is warmer and less distinct. Furthermore the meals are more classicalally arranged which I personally prefer"
