"We drove into Epoisses thinking of the cheese and this clean and convenient location delivered. It has a great view of the moated old city and was the first place that caught our eye. The menu has some of the classics, but also some different...items for those wanting to branch out. The feuilleté and Mme de Sévigny salad delivered the cheese we were looking for! The escargots were not the usual butter and garlic, but maybe a bechamel with mushroom? Different, and chock full of fresh meaty snails. I had the beef with mustard sauce, perfectly cooked with two-color carrottes Vichy, creamed spinach and potatoes (anna or dauphinois, I can't remember which is which), all on point. We also tried the ris de veau, so tender with delicious and creamy sauce, and the beautiful scallop and salmon mousse. Desserts of crème bruleé and mango mousse cake were excellent. I like that they wanted to know if we had any feedback, and I offered two small changes. I recommend this place and will return next time I'm in Epoisses."
