"So I came here for a private event, the room was lovely and private and the carvery was lovely. The downside to this is we had booked the room from 4 onwards and guests were arriving for half 4/5. Food to start coming out like half 4. But we had been delayed and asked our guests to wait outside as prior to this there was still people sat in the room eating their food which made setting up for us a bit more delayed. One of the waiters was so rude and shouting. Another staff member pushed our guests wheelchair out the way (wasn’t in the way it was tucked in the corner) pushed our mirror sign out the way, barging through without saying excuse me. We had 30 guests we all spent a lot of money there which made some of the guests really angry to be treated like this. Every-time guests went to the bar the staff were being rude. The staff were talking about us when we was literally stood there right in front of us. But a few of us had noticed they had sent us a private menu prior to this regarding food. That was fine. But it was advertised for a different price on our menu. Got to the bar and guests were being charged more than they should off. In a way this had ruined our experience here. Everything felt so rushed and it had ruined the celebration for the guests. The communication wasn’t that great either, we had emailed them and in the end had to phone up as we felt we were being ignored. This is why we didn’t give a tip"

"I ordered on line. There was nowhere to say when you wanted the food, so it came at there convenience I.e. before I really wanted it. When it did arrive it was all undercooked so I had to throw most of it away. When I rung to complain there was no interest, no offer of compensation or a replacement meal. I'll use the other Chinese in the town next time. They can't be worse. Added in response: I concede that I could have put a time in the comments section, it didn’t occur to me that that is what it might be for as I have invariably in the past order ed,with other takeaways, by phone. I acknowledge that any retailer (and individual, for that matter) can get things wrong and it was in that light that I rang to complain. Had I have bought something else on the High Street and it was substandard I would expect to complain and that the retailer would have a policy for dealing with such things and that the staff would be trained in how to deal with them. It was clear that when I rang the person that I spoke to had had no such training and from the level of response/abuse that the owner has produced she/he has no policy other than to defame the character of their customer. Rather than wanting to take advantage of a small family run business, since moving to the town I have done my best to stop using online retailers in favour of local shops following the mantra “if you don’t use them you’ll loose them”."
