"Once in a while my wife and I crave a full English . The circumstances have to be right. We have to be hungry and we have to be on a journey or a shopping trip early in the day. So on this day, very recently, my wife and I drove to Gloucester having deliberately missed breakfast we don 't bother anyway most of the time). We knew where we were going because we check Tripadviser for possible locations. We 'd already seen the reviews for the Trojan Cafe so we said OK let 's check it out. The first favourable impression is that the place is kept very clean and that the decor is uncluttered. I noticed some framed pictures of Turkish holiday locations so I 'm guessing the staff may come from Turkey. My wife ordered a basic all day and I ordered the full all day . We had two mugs of tea and much to my surprise the tea tasted good. I 'm the tea expert at home so I know a good cup when I taste one. We didn 't wait long before the food arrived and I was in for a shock when I got my plate. My reaction was Good God when I saw the amount that was on my large plate. This amused the man who brought it. The plate was full and it was all there and it was piping hot. I won 't list the contents of my all day breakfast other than to say all the elements were there in abundance and excellently cooked. I finished the lot except a couple of slices of toast. Had I thought about it I could have asked for some marmalade and I would have finished the remaining toast off as well. Anyway I was full. I realized I wouldn 't need any other food for the rest of the day. And so it proved. One bit of advice I 'd give to the pleasant staff at this cafe is to research the black pudding a bit more. As a Northerner I 've sampled black puddings before they are not all the same. The black pudding served at the Trojan was a little bland. They can be better and probably a little more expensive. Go for the less fatty type drier and more flavoursome. Notwithstanding I ate the black pudding served up to me. My wife and I turned up in smart casual country clothes and we were surrounded by tradesmen wearing their working cloths streaked with paint and oil. I knew we were in the right place. I thought it was funny. We were all there for the good food and tradesmen know where to get the good stuff. So do the local pensioners who were also there. The prices were right. All in all a very pleasant dining experience but you have to be hungry to cope with the Trojan signature dish. My wife and I both returned empty plates. A couple of pieces of toast don 't count. We will return when we feel the need for a proper full English ."

"Firstly this is a review of Guilt Trip, not Tank which I had been to several times before and had no problems with. I hope Guilt Trip up their game soon or this place won’t last long! We were greeted by some delicious looking donuts, and an electronic menu featuring different toasties. My partner chose the goats cheese toastie only to be told they couldn’t do that as they’d run out of the necessary ingredients. This was closely followed up by a following statement saying that, actually they couldn’t do any toasties at all, but a reason for this wasn’t given. This was lunch time so not ideal! So instead we ordered two donuts and two coffees and were told to sit down at a table and they’d shout us over when they were ready. As we waited we ate the donuts which were actually quite good, although not the best i’d ever had. I was shouted over for the coffees but when asked for warm milk for my Americano, the server said she wouldn’t be able to do warm milk and looked surprised by this request when I asked for it, but said she could give me some frothed milk from the machine, which turned out to be warm when it came anyway! Both servers seemed quite surly and not very welcoming, like they didn’t want to be there. We were in a rush to leave as we had a cinema booking to go to or else I would have stayed and complained. It seems the couple sat next to us had experienced some issue with the younger male server too, as when we got up to leave, the manager had come up their table couple after they’d obviously asked to see him and overheard the lady saying the server had been rude to her. Doesn’t bode well if a coffee shop doesn’t offer warm milk and seems alien to the concept when asked and they’re running out of basic menu items at lunchtime. Also the menus were just photocopied pieces of A4 paper and some of the items on the left hand side had some of the text missing so you couldn’t even read it properly. Bring back Tank! Much better as it was before! Doubt I’ll return"
