"heppenheim has a restaurant that meets up-to-date claims.Well hidden in an inconspicuous hotel is the breakwater restaurant. Hotel restaurants are more useful in their orientation, here not definitiw! we were only on the day of the evening and were looking for a restaurant for a quick dinner. our navi led us to the restaurant. because of the outer appearance, we wanted to turn around, but when turning the outside area. what a happiness. The terrace borders directly to a lake, great view. the tables are provided with tablecloths and with fabric-served, cutlery, wind light and a green plant. as very pleasant, we felt that the sunshades came out without annoying advertising. to the table you will be accompanied after the kind greeting and the discreet note that the terrace is available exclusively restaurant guests (which can be considered normal for a restaurant terrace). a view into the inner also revealed that the outer one conveys a completely false impression, because the two restaurants in the interior are also high-quality, modern and tasteful. The impression continued when we got the card. not only the dishes offered in it convinced in the written form and made lust for more, no even the card itself is a more than enjoyable exception to the otherwise usual and usual. After studying the card we decided to serve for the candle-light dinner, because now we were so convinced that we were served from our plan to eat just a little bit more and decided to get a little more time to invest.Alts shortly afterwards the greeting came from the kitchen, a finely decorated gazpacho. continued with a fabulous pulpo. for a long time the best I could enjoy in sachen pulpo. in the following a duet of suppening was served. here it was tasted that the chefs understand their craftsmanship. the main course was served with a perfectly roasted bark fillet and sea foliage. the complete court knew to convince with a balanced composition and was cooked to a very high level. This is also served separately here and is not, as so often, only to be found as small kleks on the teller. the menu was rounded off by the sweet end, a kokos panna cotta. the wine map finds interesting and good, but also sometimes average compositions and is therefore not compiled for the very high demands. but this did not stop our visit, because we were not allowed to look at the alcoholic side of the drink card because of the still outstanding journey. a magnificent take-off makes the house brand sekt from the house geldermann. an excellent champagne, which is best drunk puristically. What often comes too short in such reviews is the quality of the offered service. also here we were not disappointed, you realize that you have to do it here with profis that understand your craftsmanship. top, so on. Finally, to say: who wants to pamper himself in beautiful ambiente by good service is right here. who can then still be in pain that the big (French) wolves are missing on the wine map must have eaten here, especially on the terrace."

"The abundance of dithyrambic online reviews lead us to expect a fine evening at this reasonably-priced Italian. Unfortunately, this was not to be. The drinks came out a little late, but the real problem was that food service was so slow it was abnormal. I...basically waited close to an hour and a half (after ordering time for one spaghetti dish. This taken into account that we had reserved in advance, we were the first to arrive at the restaurant at the opening time, our dishes were only simple pizza and pasta mains (no oven dishes, risotto... , and the dishes at our table were served with large intervals, so it had nothing to do with waiting to serve it all at once. The restaurant was not near full capacity, either. We had to remind the staff about our order several times, without being offered an apology or a small compensation as is usual in such cases, but when we eventually did get the food I was (sadly far from impressed. Although portion size was fine, the pasta was just a bit too hard (even though I like al dente , the sauce was passable but did not taste great, same for the seafood. I have had considerably better seafood pasta elsewhere (incl. Germany with similar price range , and could not finish my plate despite being quite hungry. I guess the staff were trying their best (waiters were running around actively ? Perhaps something went wrong in the kitchen and this is not usual, but I am sorry to say my experience is the food is nothing to write home about and you will need a Buddha's patience to be able to even get it."

"Small attractive hotel with attached restaurant in the heart of the old town of Heppenheim . The exterior is located directly on the historic market square with its impressive city fountain. Built in 1782, it is still property of the family and is managed by the family in 7 generation. From here you have a beautiful view of the mountain opposite the village with the castle Starkenburg and the surrounding vineyards. Many of the city's sights are also within walking distance to Dom St. Peter, outdoor stage, museum, lantern path.................. Every year in summer the gas sensations take place. Artists, comedy, magic, cabaret, street theatre, puppet play.......... different places of the old town are played, this is all free for donations, but is asked. When we are at home, it is time to get to the charming mountain road around this spectacle at least one of the 3 days of play. We are happy to go before or after dinner, so this time too. It was very windy outside this day, we could not use the beautiful outside surface of the restaurant. Inside the restaurant, old and new style elements are skillfully combined. dark wood furniture, silver tea lights and fresh flowers on the tables. The menu is quite small and offers regional dishes with products from farms and producers directly from the region, which, depending on the season from the Odenwald, trout and seedlings from the fish farm Lehmann, hand cheese and cooking cheese from the odenwälderkä cookery, switch over to the... But as we were usually on the road by car, alcohol fell in favor of juice and lemonade. We feed: roasted wooden cabbage with vegetable curry and basmati rice cabbage slightly browned, the herbal curry pikant spices very well cooked cheese carving with pommes and salad baked pork carving with hessian. Salad was a little pale, bare marinade, almost nothing tasted. To drink we refresh Maracuja juice choir good and ginger lemon lemon lemonade slightly acidic cream fine The service was diligent and attentive, so there was nothing to complain about from this site."
