"I was there with a party of 5 including a 7 year old child. We waited 1hr and 20minutes for our food to arrive which in its self is unacceptable. There was no communication about late running from the staff whatsoever. Further to this we had a vegan in our party. I ordered a beef burger special and she ordered a vegan burger. I had tried this beyond meat burger myself and recommended it to her. The food came and we were very hungry so tucked in. We double checked with the waiter if the cheese and mayo on the vegan burger was definitely vegan too and were assured that it was. Half way through my partner asked how the burger was, and at this point I realised the blue cheese was missing! At which point the realisation struck that we had been given the wrong burgers with the meat one going to our Vegan. She had not eaten red meat for 30 years and was most upset. I explained to the waiter who was not very concerned or apologetic. He came back and said the kitchen had labelled them wrongly, apologised, and said he would take the cost off the bill. The scallops ordered were cut into slices, weird, never seen that before. Over all not a pleasant experience. We eat out a lot and know good service and food. we know vegan food has come a long way and is very meat like, like I say, I got half way though the beyond meat burger before noticing there had been a mistake."

"Glengarry Castle Hotel is my new all time favorite hotel. Here's why: it's a beautiful manor house on the grounds of the old Invergarry Castle. rooms are beautiful and individually decorated. Ours had a fantastic view of Loch Oich. very comfortable furnishings. The mattress was great, and we had a nice little sitting area as well. nice bathroom the shower had great water pressure. The toilet can be a little slow to refill, but when you remember the house is 100+ years old, you can't complain. The area immediately around the hotel is amazing to explore. You can walk through the gardens, around (not in, unfortunately) the old castle, as well as up and down the Loch and to the River Garry. Be careful to not let the sheep out. We didn't take advantage of it, but you can rent boats from them as well, along with tennis equipment. I could write a separate five star review just for the dining room, but I'll be succinct and say it's phenomenal. We had three excellent dinners here, and made it to breakfast once. Everything was fresh, cooked to order, and delicious. My husband had steak three nights in a row, while I tried the pheasant, duck and lamb; anything with smoked salmon was delicious as well. No bad picks. Correspondingly, service is phenomenal. Everyone from the front desk to the dining room is lovely. Great location within the Highlands: 45 minutes or so to Fort William, 15 minutes to Fort Augustus and Loch Ness, and an hour or so from Inverness. It's at the perfect spot to explore the Great Glen. I can't say enough about this place everything about it is a wonderful experience."
