"Just dined at this local Italian restaurant. This was a very lovely place, my regret is I forgot to take a picture of my starter and my desert, the 2 best dishes!! The starter I had was the calamari served with tartar sauce. These were the biggest rings of calamari I've ever had. They looked beautiful and they tasted incredible! My mains, as you can see, was the pan fried breaded chicken with spaghetti pomodoro (a plum tomato sauce). The food tasted good, the pasta was cooked well, the sauce was fresh and sweet. I selected both these dishes from their set menu however I was too late to get the set menu price of £10.95. Instead we paid £8 for the calamari and £13 for my main. The food was definitely good enough to visit again for the set menu deal which has many items to choose between. I also forgot to take pictures of my desert which was profiteroles in warm chocolate sauce. I kinda attacked them as soon as they hit the table!! They were awesome, not the best profiteroles I've had but great nonetheless. Also it was only £5 for 3 so a little on the expensive side. The choux pastry was soft, the cream was delicious and the warm choc sauce was lovely! By the way the best profiteroles I've had was at Le Relais de Venise in the City, a kinda favourite place of mine, very simple menu with absolutely amazing deserts! All in all, Olivelli was a great Italian place with impeccable service. A friend of mine joined us unexpectedly and the staff were so accommodating moving us to a bigger table. They recommended dishes and condiments, one of which was a roasted and chopped garlic in olive oil which tasted great through the spaghetti as I do love garlic, and were generally very friendly. Definitely worth trying especially for the set menu which operates between noon and 5pm, well on a Saturday at least."

"A smile wouldn’t go amiss, or perhaps some manners? We arrived at the Dog House at around 9:15pm. We’d been told that there burgers were excellent and after a busy day all 9 of us were famished. Sadly upon arrival the Kitchen was closed so no food for us, our fault for our lack of haste. So we sat outside, enjoyed a pint and decided to order Uber Eats to the pub as most places were shut for food. By the time food arrived the outside area was shut. But thankfully our friend had his wonderful Land Rover on the street next to the pub, which we all sat in the back of where we finsihed off our pints and ate our food. As we ate we noticed all the staff and manger starting at us through the windows. I guess 9 people crammed into a Land Rover would draw stares. Not long later I nipped in to use the loo but the man at the bar said “Excuse me you’re not allowed in here” Surprised I replied “So sorry, so I can’t use your loo?” To which he said “My manager told me you’re not allowed in here at all” Bemused I left to warn the others. Didn’t stop 2 of our members walking straight in to use the loo, and later as we left the manager stood in the doorway looking very stern and unhappy. Why deprive us from the basic right of using a loo? We’re paying customers. The whole pub seemed lovely, sadly the manager let it down. You’d get more joy and happiness from someone who worked in a morgue. All the same we enjoyed our experience."
