"Nächtlichen Hungergelüsten folgend bestellte ich mir per Internet ein Menü. Das Service war schnell, ein freundlicher Bote brachte das Essen schon 20 Minuten nach der Bestellung. Leider hat die Schnelligkeit ihre Tücken. Offensichtlich war das Essen nicht frisch zubereitet, ich hatte sogar das Gefühl, dass das Hühnchen süßsuaer mindestens den ganzen Tag in der Sauce verbracht hatte, von knusprig keine Rede, das hätte ich auch ohne Zähne essen können. Auch das Essen meiner Frau war derartig ungenießbar, dass wir schweren Herzens die ganze Ladung in den Müll beförderten. Nie wieder."

"Ein Wirtshaus wie aus guten alten Zeiten! Die Speisen munden vorzüglich und die Schnitzel sind die Besten in ganz Linz. Wirklich sehr zu empfehlen. Seit Jahren sind wir immer sehr zufrieden gewesen. Auch alle anderen Speisen, die nicht nur typisch österreichische Hausmannskost sind, wie Fischfilet auf gedünsteten Gemüse sind schmackhaft und sehr gut. Die Stube ist ansprechend und richtig zum Wohlfühlen. Darüber hinaus lädt ein Gastgarten dazu ein, bei schönem Wetter draußen zu schmausen und zu trinken. Parkplätze sind genug vor dem Haus vorhanden. Ich komme jedes Mal wieder gerne und freue mich schon auf den nächsten Besuch."

"Eine Reservierung ist laut Mailantwort generell nicht möglich (obwohl die Webseite das anbietet..), dort angekommen, sind viele Tische reserviert..? Die Bestellung dauert, man muss vorab zahlen, wartet dann nervig lang auf das extrem überteuerte Getränk, dazwischen stürzt das System ab, niemand weiß mehr, welche Drinks noch fehlen, Bedienung stark überfordert.. Keine Snacks, kein Essensangebot, kein Chef, der seine Runden zieht; man muss sich für Burger an anderer Stelle anstellen, sehr lange für die Damentoilette - nervt, wenn man sich unterhalten will.. Man hat den Eindruck, Service und Business sind sekundär, alles ruht ausschließlich auf der wirklich coolen Location, schade irgendwie.. Nächstes Mal setz ich mich mit meinem Bier an die benachbarte Donaulände, dort ists ebenso chillig..."

"Wir haben an der Sushi Bar platzgenommen, der Aperitif war ganz in Ordnung aber nichts besonderes. Die Speisekarte mussten wir uns selbst vom Nebentisch besorgen. Bei der Vorspeise wurde meine Miso-Suppe vergessen, die zweite haben wir bekommen (Gambas). Das Sushi war gut ( Herberstein Mix ). Meine Nachspeise katastrophal ( Salzburger Nockerl - innen geronnen-fast flüssig ), der Sorbet-Mix ganz okay. Das Service war eine totale Katastrophe, auch auf den Nebentischen. Uns wurde nichtmal zur Nachspeise ein Besteck gebracht, der Kellner hat diese auf den Tisch gestellt und ist gleich wieder verschwunden, obwohl wir noch nachgerufen haben. Dann sitzt man vor einem Sorbet und keiner kommt mehr. SCHADE... Wir werden nicht mehr hingehen."

Probier ihn unbedingt aus, wenn du in der Nähe bist. An Kitschphobie solltest du nicht leiden: Das Team trägt Volkstracht-Zitate und die Lokaleinrichtung ist leider schiarch. Selbstbedienung, dafür wirklich preiswert. Für geschichtlich Neugierige: In den 1970er Jahren beherbergten die historischen Gewölbe die Meraner Weinstube , deren legendärer Ruf als Spelunke bis heute unerreicht ist. Also, ich esse immer Pferde-Leberkäse. Der ist der beste."

"Not easy to find but through an archway on the right side at the end of the Hauptplatz as you look towards the river: any tram from the Hauptbahnhof will take you there for one euro. Pleasant waitress and the chef was in the UK...merchant navy. He's a good chef too and the menu is not too big but has a good spread and the plates are well filled! I had a mixed side salad, an excellent Wiener schnitzel, a chocolate soufflé dessert, a half litre of good beer, a glass of wine and a coffee for €25 and I call that good value. The ambience is maybe a little bleak but the furniture is good and solid with some interesting paintings on the walls. It was a Sunday night so probably quieter than usual. Try it, see what you think!"

The Aperol Spritz looked good, but tasted more like sparkling water than Prosecco. And that’s unfair! The ingredients on the pizza I ordered were not fresh and they had to be fresh and tasty, by default. Otherwise better don’t offer a pizza with rucola, figs and nuts, which were obviously the cheapest possible on the market. The pizza didn’t look good either. The last time I was there I had a Vegetariana which was way better done. My friend was happy with her pizza, so I guess that one could be also satisfied. I would recommend that the staff pays more attention to what they offer and keep the standards up."

"Our AirBnB host has proposed to us castle cafe and reserved for us. Your summer menu has BBQ on the terrace. We came around 7 and sat at a table near the wall with a great view of the Danube. Reservations are highly recommended to get a good table with a view as the tables on the terrace are quickly filled. The lamb dogs from the BBQ were very good and we also enjoyed an excellent mushroom risotto. Enjoy a good bottle of wine and enjoy the view as dusk made for a very relaxing evening. Our waiters were dedicated and attentive to a fun dinner. All in all, the food was quite good and the prices were very reasonable. I recommend the castle café on a beautiful late summer evening!"
