"We found Casa No Name online and liked the website and the menu so we took a chance. I will admit that walking down the side streets of Marseilles with all the walls covered in graffiti can be a bit intimidating, but it wasn't scary so we kept walking. We arrived at 8PM on a Thursday night without a reservation. Luckily we did not need one that early! They graciously seated us and brought us the menus. Our host and server were quick to be sure that we understood the menu. We used what little French we knew and they helped with translating to English as needed. It was really nice to have a French restaurant person allow us to use our French even though it was not great! : We started with a glass of champagne and starters of Panisses comme à l’Estaque (a local specialty and a Wrap de Gorgonzola, roquette et poires (arugula and pears wrapped in gorgonzola . Both were delicious. For our main course we had the Charlotte d'aubergines épicée aux trois viandes (spicy eggplant with three meats and the filet mignon (Filet mignon of pork stuffed with chard and chorizo, polenta . Both were prepared perfectly and were scrumptious. The chef checked on us right after we ordered to be sure we knew what we were getting and again shortly after the food was delivered. That was pretty awesome. We enjoyed a very nice bottle of Domaine de la Gayère, Cuvée de Chris, Cotes du Rhône 2010, nicely priced at 24 Euros. A big thank thank you to all of the staff who were gracious, friendly and very efficient! The entire meal including the wine was 74 euros. We will definitely return on our next trip to Marseilles. I recommend that you try it too!"
