"My review only refers to the gelateria because I just wanted to eat ice cream. I find the price/performance ratio a disgrace. To charge €9.5 for a banal spaghetti ice cream without saying it was particularly lavish is quite a lot. Then I decided on an iced coffee. €7.5 for a scoop of vanilla ice cream, the cheapest spray cream and some coffee in a simple 0.25 l glass. I have no understanding of that. In Oberammergau (also very touristy) there is more of everything in top quality for a lower price. No recommendation! Sorry."

"We have been at that place a few times now. The menu is pretty large and the food ranges from basic to great (specially when you know that you are away from town!). Ask for non-nutrion or lactose or gluten free if you need it, and lots of vegetarian food is offered too. The staff is friendly (hey, they are italians :-)). The Pizza is made ia a wood oven. The wine menu is good too. The restaurant renovated and centrally located. Food is offered 7 days from 11 a.m. to around midnight (also unusual). If you need a table book before you arrive. Parking is close by."

"Alpenhof Murnau is a lovely member of the Relais/Chateaux association. It doesn't disappoint-- Murnau itself is a lovely town that attracted writers and painters like Kandinsky. Excellent rooms, suites, and the kitchen is outstanding. Both the "normal" dining and the gourmet restaurant have high (and delicious) standards and great service. The breakfast is one of the best I've experienced in Germany-- a beautiful buffet of all the "expected" items plus some Bavarian specialties-- like small weißwurst. And wonderful freshly squeezed orangejuice and champagne-- and, (very German) all sorts of pro-biotic health drinks. The hotel has a full service spa, a beautiful indoor pool (also an nice outdoor pool). In the distance you can see the Bavarian Alps in the direction of Oberammergau and Garmish-Partenkirche. But the little towns are the treasures. Of course-- Oberammergau with it's Passion Play every 10 years since the plague in the 1500's. The Passion Play Theater has all kinds of musical and dramatic performances-- concerts and even operas. The area is also the location of the Ludwig castles-- Neuschwanstein (the Sleeping Beauty castle at Disneyland is patterned after this one. "Mad" King Ludwig of Bavaria build a number of castles that you can easily visit from Murnau. (He was a supporter of composer Richard Wagner.) I've been back to Alpenhof Murnau a number of times and each time was a wonderful experience."

"we visited the RISTORANTE PIZZERIA at the outskirt of MURNAU - BAVARIA, located on the road from MURNAU to BAD- KOHLGRUB.This Restaurant is known to us since many years so we decided to go there for a small dinner. The people were very friendly, although it was pretty cramped there. But we got a nice table for 2, and the waiters - all of them - were very attentive and friendly. The Food was brought in a timely manner, and they were able to deliver an Appetizer before the dinner, even we ordered it quite some time later.So this Service is remarkable.The Food was good Quality, However it was a bit too salty for our taste, and the seafood - muscles - were a bit on the small side and not as good tasting as we were used to from their competitors. But all in all it was worth the Money. The desert was good tasting, However a bit too commercialized - you know what I mean with that.The Restaurant is recommendable, and the Service was great."

"we were 10 people the table was very close, we then set ourselves a chair. we had really bad luck with our bedining. "who wants to eat Bavarian properly, he won't find a better address than the karg brownstüberl. especially beautiful on a warm summer evening is the small beer garden behind the house, because inside it is something too original for one or the other. the services are very friendly and eating. so if Schweinshaxn with knödel and krautsalat, please here!And to this you have to drink a karg white beer even if you are not a white beer fan - even obama tried it at the G7 summit 2015 - that is why the slogan of the brewery has since also been "yes we karg"."

"Eine sehr engagierte geführte Metzgerei. Schön und nicht überladen ausgestatteter Tresen, Frisches und Gutes! an der Warmhaltetheke. Das Lokal einfach und zweckmäßig ausgestattet. Die Jung Chefin vorzüglich im Service. Es gbit gutes regionales Bier, guten Wein und herrliche Würste. Wir hatten Woll und Weißwürste, beides vorzüglich und sehr schön serviert (Wollwürste mit g'schmackigem kartoffelsalat, Weiße im Sud wie sich's g'hört. wir hatten eigentlich Lust auf ein Schweinsbratl, das gab es an diesem Tag nicht, aber die Schnitte Wammerl haben wir dann doch am Tisch verzehrt, obwohl Verzehr von der Warmtheke nur am Stehtisch erlaubt ist. Die Chefin hat das wohlwollend übersehen. Herrlich die Kasse: Man wirft Münzen und Scheine in den Automaten, schon kommt das Wechselgeld zurückgerasselt. Kompliment dem jungen Team!"

"Cafe Miteinander "Together opened earlier this year in Murnau, just off the main tourist/shopping street. We had a full lunch there, which consisted of a thai-inspired potato and cauliflower dish, and a cake afterwards. The owner was very friendly, the place is a nice spot also to sit outside. The food had a home-made appearance, and the Thai-inspired was somewhat difficult to detect basically, it was just potatoes with cauliflower and a fairly nondescript white sauce which might have had hints of coconut and ginger. The cakes were also fine, but again, this is not fine dining. In particular when it comes to the main dish, the flavours were extremely mild maybe appropriate for a town that does not exactly draw the most adventurous of tourists. For what it offers, it is on the expensive side. Anyway, it is the only vegetarian/vegan place within 20 kms, so go if you are there."
