"I am reluctant to write this review score as it is as already difficult to book a table for Sunday lunch ! But it is the best Sunday lunch you can have ! It never disappoints , the red cabbage and the cheese cauliflower are the best , roast potatoes any Yorkshire puddings the best and the lamb melts in your mouth ! I hoping that we don't make it more difficult to get a table ! It also has some of the best beers you can drink Thank you for all the hard work that you do to ensure your customers have a great lunch ! It is much appreciated by all your friends and customers ! Please keep doing what you do as it is simply the best !"

"Absolutely lovely food! Fantastic. We went in for lunch and had a light bite. The fish finger sandwich was lovely! On of us was gluten free. The only thing she could have really was soup. So one improvement could be for the sandwiches or light bites if they could have gluten free bread alternatives as this would then give more choice. Lots of gluten free options for main meals though but we only wanted the light bites at lunch time really. Thank you."

"Been for a lovely dinner here this evening. Had a chicken burger (two southern fried chicken breasts, decent portion! , hand cut chips and onion rings and my husband had a lamb burger. Both were absolutely lovely. We had sticky toffee pudding and black forest cheesecake for dessert and both were delicious. Not too big portion wise which was perfect. Service was friendly and non intrusive, food came extremely quickly and was hot, locals and non-locals made to feel welcome. The decor was lovely (the chairs were super comfy which makes a nice change from being tortured on uncomfortable chairs haha . So as someone just visiting locally, I'd highly recommend The Banc!"

"When walking past it looked like a lovely cafe however when we sat down and ordered we found a coating of dust of the dado rails next to our table, the toilet had a weird smell of dampness, there was dust all over the skirting...boards and dust in the top of the toilet lid. (However it wasnt a urine smell and no urine stains in sight, must be the only good thing out of our visit food arrived, sausages were out of a frozen bag as if they were sainsburys basics, bacon was tough, the lasagne tasted really fatty however it was homemade but a frozen one would of tasted nicer compared to this, ordered a Brie bacon and cranberry sandwich on brown bread however it came out on white bread. Also the tea was too weak stirred and stirred the pot so I dread to think that the tea bags were re-used or there really really cheep. We were greeted nice by waiter, wait was too long, price was too high especially for the standard. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND OR GO TO THIS PLACE AGAIN FOR TWO REASONS, HYGIENIC REASONS AND REALLY POOR FOOD. How can you mess a pot of tea up "

"We hired Proper Pizza to cater for our party and they exceeded our expectations. They delivered all the pizzas directly to the party location, which was a field. The service was superb and the pizzas were delicious. They got every order correct, including accommodating dietary requirements like gluten-free options (which were wrapped in extra bags for protection). We highly recommend them!"

"only the most beautiful little bistro. the owners make them welcome from the moment they go. we were next to the heating and offered to cover in the undercover court as it was a terrible day. our 3 years old was treated like a gott and received a special hot chocolate. the selection of the food was incredible with vegan and vegetarian options and the eating itself was of great value and tasted delicious. if they are ever in newtown, cafe glitz is a must to visit."

"We were booked in for Sunday roast. On booking we told the restaurant about the foods I am allergic to (one of which is egg). Upon arrival we confirmed with the bar staff the allergies I suffer with. On ordering the roast beef I was asked what my allergies were again and then I was asked by the staff again a few minutes later. At this point I have spoke to 3 different members of staff about my allergies. For dessert, I asked for ice cream and asked the staff at the time I ordered if it had egg in, I was told “I will check”. The ice cream arrives and just as I was enjoying my second spoonful of ice cream a member of staff ran up the stairs to tell to stop eating as the ice cream may have egg in. As anyone who has had an allergic reaction can tell you, this can be a very stressful experience. A nervous 5 minutes later a 4th member of staff (who I assume was the manager) ran up to tell me that it didn’t have egg in. He was very apologetic. To further apologies our deserts and drinks were refunded. This experience spoilt what was intended to be a relaxing Sunday roast. The overbearing experience from being asked so many times about my allergies made me nervous that the front of house and kitchen had no confidence, experience or training with dealing with what in reality are quite simple allergies. The incident with the ice cream summed it all up. I think the staff would have been more relaxed and capable if I had walked in and announced I had a bomb instead! For the sake of balance, the roast beef was really good, as was the gravy, I would recommend going if visiting and you don’t have any allergies"

"Delicious food and really friendly staff, very reasonably priced! Really good selection for vegetarians too. Highly recommend! Came back a second time, and they even gave our dogs some sausages! Lovely to have somewhere dog friendly. Sat outside but there’s an awning that gives good shelter from the rain."

"We had a delightful evening at Caer Beris Manor to celebrate our wedding anniversary whilst visiting the local area. We were lucky enough to secure a table on the evening of their reopening after lockdown so were the first to experience the newly refurbished hotel and the revamped menu. The decor is wonderfully eccentric encompassing everything from William Morris prints, an ultra modern appero area overlooking the grounds and a montagnyard mural outside on the terrace. The staff were all delightful. We arrived early and were offered drinks in the conservatory. Omar went out of his way to make us feel welcome and even had a special anniversary dessert prepared for us which was a lovely gesture. The highlight was however the food. It was a concise menu full of locally sourced produce put together in some really interesting combinations. I had an eel en croute to start and a beef fillet with miso as a main course and both were excellent. The prices are high (particularly for the local area) but the quality justified the price. We couldn’t have asked for a better evening to emerge from lockdown!"

"Lovely pit stop for lunch. We visited en route to our holiday in Pembrokeshire. We were given a warm welcome and the sandwiches were fresh, plentiful and tasty. They were served with a side salad and crisps. We also had a pot of tea for two, which came accompanied with a pot of hot water, which was plenty to top up for a second cup. The tea room was clean and the only reason for four stars not five is that it would have been nice to have some music on for atmosphere."

"Never had a bad meal at this place. It feels like going to your grandparents house for a meal or something. Lovely family atmosphere. The food is of a ridiculously high quality and stupidly tasty. It truly feels 'home made '. The usual staples (onion rings etc) are amazing. In fact, this is the first time in years I haven 't been dissapointed by onion rings. The Hog (massive) is the best mixed grill I 've ever had. The gammon has to be seen (and tasted) to be believed. I don 't like Gammon... It has the paradoxical features or being too salty and too bland at the same time. But... their gammon is outstanding. I love their gammon. It 's all top-notch. Garlic saute potatoes on the side. Worth a visit just for those. Had a homemade cookies and cream cheesecake (size of a large fudge cake/gataux type cake) and it was sublime. The crust is crumbly, gooey and moist at the same time and is the best I 've ever had. Be prepared to go home in pain if you brave the Hog. Worth it though. WARNING TO NEW VISITORS: there will be a wait for your food. Everything is cooked fresh and obviously with a lot of love. We waited 40/45 mins for our food but we knew to expect it. It 's honestly worth the wait but allow for time. Lovely staff Outstanding chef"

"The restaurant is in a beautiful location and the staff is friendly and helpful. The interior is clean, comfortable, and spacious, creating a relaxed atmosphere. Our family, ranging in age from 8 to nearly 80 years old, had a wonderful experience."
"Yesterday on Easter Sunday the wonderful team at the Green Inn served over 30 members of the Burton family with wonderful dinners including carveries, lamb shank, seabass, gammon, et cetera, et cetera. The whole occasion was fantastic and the food magnificent. The service was really excellent too very professional, responsive and yet suitably low key. I cannot thank Min and her team enough for looking after us so well we will definitely be back!"

"On a recent holiday to Llangorse, we visited the Red Lion twice once for Sunday lunch and once on a Wednesday evening. We’d been looking forward to sampling the menu at the Red Lion since its relaunch and the food was exceptional. Sunday lunch was fantastic the meats were cooked beautifully alongside the huge homemade Yorkshire puddings and spring veg. My partner also commented that the hake was the best fish he had ever had. We almost didn’t have room for pudding (almost! but I’m glad we did as the raspberry pavlova was easily one of the nicest I’ve tasted. Equally, on the Wednesday, between us we went for the bavette steak and the chicken caesar salad and again, everything was delicious. I’d like to say that because of how much we enjoyed the food, we had a great experience at the Red Lion but unfortunately, the service and attitude of some of the staff when we dined there on the Wednesday evening really let us down. We were welcomed to our table by who we think was the chef with no issues. However, as the evening progressed, the service went downhill for us. The two waitresses who served us seemed like they didn’t really want to be there. When our order for mains was taken, we weren’t told that there was no hake on the menu, we only found out from a conversation overheard by my partner at the bar. Equally, the same happened on the Sunday when we weren’t told until we came to order our starters that some items weren’t available which should have been made known to us after we were seated. After our food arrived on the Wednesday, we were not asked by the waitress if we wanted any condiments or anything else they could get for us. When my partner approached the waitress to ask if those of us having steak could have a steak knife, he was told no as the steak should have been tender enough to cut it with a regular knife? We were quite taken aback by that response and despite what the waitress said, a steak knife was still required to cut our meat but at that point, we didn’t want to ask again so got on with our meals. We weren’t asked if everything was ok with our meal until our plates were cleared again, we expected someone to ask this earlier to check everything was ok. We waited a considerable time to be asked if we wanted dessert. We were also confused as we were told at the start of both meals that drinks could only be ordered at the bar, however, when our plates from our mains were being collected, we were told we could order them at the table which was inconsistent to what we’d previously been told. When we told the waitress we did want a dessert, menus were brought out but the waitress didn’t return. A second waitress then appeared and abruptly and rudely asked how many of us were having desserts so she could place the cutlery. There wouldn’t have been any issue at all with this being asked other than the way the waitress spoke or rather shouted at us. The whole party were surprised at her tone of voice to the point where we were almost lost for words. When the same waitress realised we hadn’t actually ordered dessert as the other waitress hadn’t come back to take our order, the waitress did apologise, but then went and sat on the window sill cross legged and asked for our order which we found to be a bit strange and unprofessional. We were also short of one set of dessert cutlery which was then pulled out of the top of the waitress’ dungarees. At that stage, we considered cancelling dessert and paying the bill, however, we persevered and the desserts (biscoff cheesecake and the raspberry pavlova were once again divine. We hope that the issues we have encountered are just teething problems due to it being a new establishment as the service we have received at other local pubs in the area has been second to none whereas in all honesty, we were not made to feel welcome on either occasion we visited the Red Lion. For the price of food and drink here, we would expect more from the level of service and hope this has been rectified at our next visit in 2024."

"After our car broke down mid journey to our holiday, we found ourselves stranded in Welshpool on a Sunday evening until a garage could help us. We decided to book somewhere to just get us and our 3 year old down for the night while we made a plan. The Lion Hotel was SO welcoming and friendly, our room specified an extra bed for the little one and it surpassed all expectations of a pull out cot bed. Instead we were given a beautiful double room with an adjoining simple single room with its own ensuite! Ideal for us so she could sleep and not be disturbed by our frantic phone calls to towing companies. Breakfast in the morning was delicious with a fabulous selection of cooked items as well as fruits, yoghurts and cereals. We loved finding all the different art works, the decor is so fun and tactile. What could have been an incredibly stressful and disappointing night ended up being a wonderful experience and our daughter loved our mini holiday. Thank you for rescuing our weekend!"

"Came across this cafe and decided to go in as they were okay with dogs. First impressions were the decor wasn't my thing but that's just me... You might like it! The majority of the place looked clean, however there were a few points me and my partner noticed; the covers for the chairs were very dirty and it wasn't fresh dirt either. The salt, pepper and sugar pot on the table were visibly dirty so we weren't really comfortable using them tbh. I didn't find the place great value for money, it was overpriced for what it was but the breakfast was cooked well so I have no complaints on the food quality but it didn't fit the price. The drinks however were below par, almost £4 for a flat white and it was shocking; worst coffee I've ever had as it was pretty much all milk. Would I visit again if I was in Brecon? Probably not, and I'd probably be happier with popping in the coffee1 for a snack and save abit of money."

"During our visit to Brecon, we stopped at this restaurant for lunch. Despite a bit of a wait for our food, 30 minutes for the dim sum starters, it was well worth it as the entire meal was delicious and freshly prepared. My partner ordered the Lamb Nettle Curry and I had the Chicken Korma, both of which were amazing. We left feeling satisfied and full. The waiter was very friendly and talkative, sharing tales about Nepal while I admired a beautiful picture on the wall of snow-capped mountains and yaks. We highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return when we're in the area."

"Really tasty food and extremely reasonably priced. I was able to try a few dishes within my budget which is always a treat when eating Indian food! Lots of vegetarian options too. The only downside was service was a little slow, and the ordering process was quite confusing as each section of the menu had to be taken separately, instead of just saying what you want. But when it did arrive it was delicious!!!"
