Now it was on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in October when the sun unpacked all its muscles in an already warm and sunny year and taught the fear that we finally visited the house. Of course, the offer of an outdoor stay on this day was also a motive. And the terrace at Rems offered sun for sunbathers and spacious parasols for quick sweaters. Also interesting was a connected beer garden. Apparently they are cultivated in the eastern state. I guess Vesper can be brought, drinks are ordered in the house. But that was... closed. Whatever. There was room for us on the terrace. Vesper had no one. On the contrary, we were cooked anyway. Sonja (l. Geiseloffizier welcomed us kindly and left us the choice between the few free places. She also brought the cards to the table. The latter were obviously reduced on Sunday. Whether because of the rush or reduced team strength, I can't say, but tap the first. Something's going on. I usually have half of it. Let's go to the main protagonist on my plate. A burger who just looked good. Super juicy and really delicious. Even the rolls really delicious. But somehow something was wrong. The Burgersoße was beautiful. Yeah, really. But the booms were missing. Swabian: He was a little quiet. When it was cleared (from another lady I mentioned this and read more casually: "or would the two sauces (i.e. Ketchup and Mayo, which I thought to be a supplement to the pommes on it?) Pragmatically, she said I had to decide. Rumors. "Wir waren als Familie eher aus der Not heraus dort, weil wir eine Alternative für das an diesem Abend völlig überfüllte "Ladies Diner" in Esslingen suchten, wo wir einfach viel zu lange auf einen Platz hätten warten müssen. Von letzterem sind wir spitzenmäßige Burger und ein Top-Ambiente gewohnt - insofern war der Vergleich mit dem "Little Archie" vielleicht auch etwas unfair. Trotzdem: Alles in allem waren wir einigermaßen zufrieden. Der Service war schnell und sehr freundlich, die jungen Mitarbeiter auf Zack und aufmerksam, obwohl der Laden gut besucht war. Man hat uns auch das Essen, das übrig war, sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend eingepackt, das war prima. Das Essen selbst war grade noch ok, hat uns aber echt nicht vom Hocker gerissen. Zunächst hatten wir eine "Mixed-Extras"-Platte mit Zwiebelringen, Chilli-Cheese-Nuggets und Mozzarella-Sticks. Das war gut, aber wahrlich keine Kochkunst, sondern TK-Convenience-Food, das aus der Fitte kam. Die Burger - übrigens enorm große Portionen und fast zu viel - sahen lecker aus, schmeckten auch ganz ok, wobei die Patties sich auch wieder als gewöhnliche Industrieware entpuppten. Generell war aber das Essen eher überwürzt und hart an der Grenze zum Versalzenen. Zudem war zu viel Pfeffer am Essen, unsere Kinder klagten über die Schärfe in den Bürgern. Die BBQ-Sauce, mit der alles eingedeckt ist, ist außerdem nicht besonders gut - uns ist rätselhaft, warum man die sogar im Lokal in Flaschen kaufen kann. Gut waren hingegen die "Archie Fries", bei denen es sich - entgegen des irreführenden Namens - um frittierte Kartoffelscheiben handelt. Diese waren knusprig und lecker. Nachtisch gibt es außer überteuertem Hägen-Dasz-Eis fast keinen, aber der hätte bei den enormen Portionsgrößen eh nicht mehr reingepasst. Fazit: Zum Sattwerden ok, aber mehr auch nicht. Wer elaborierte oder auch nur originelle Küche erwartet, ist hier fehl am Platz. Und für das gebotene Convenience-Food ist es ehrlich gesagt auch deutlich zu teuer. Darum werden wir wohl eher nicht mehr kommen."
