"We ate here twice during our week-long stay in the area and we enjoyed both visits. The setting of this restaurant is just lovely; on an island on the River Cher. On the first visit, we said inside and on the second, we said outside on the terrace right next to the water. It was glorious in such hot weather. As our visits were on the same week, the menu was the same, so we could try out most of it. Their menu is not extensive and we ignored the pizzas, though we did like the look of them - nice thin crust with generous toppings. Judging by the expressions of the other customers, they tasted good, too.For starters, we had sampled Gaspacho (sic), Carpaccio of Melon with ham (melon ribbons with slices of Serrano Ham) and tomato salad with goat cheese. All lovely and refreshing. The Gaspacho was very good, not a true Spanish version, but absolutely delicious nonetheless. For main courses, We had steak frites and saucisse Montlouis - a special kind of sausage, like a Toulous sausage but with different seasonings. The sausage was very tasty. The steaks were decent; the second time was better, but not that exciting. The quality of the meat was good. For pudding, it was Strawberry with Cream. Delicious and just the right amount. The service was good, attentive and not snooty at all. This restaurant is busy, so booking is essential."
