"I visited The Olive Tree today and found the tea room area to be very nice. I ordered a fruit scone with jam, but unfortunately it was a great disappointment. The scone was very dry and only had two sultanas in the entire scone. Even with butter and jam, the scone remained dry. I mentioned this to a staff member upon leaving, but they seemed uninterested. This was my first visit since the tea area had changed, and I was very disappointed. Thank you for reading this review."

"We went to this restaurant for lunch and arrived shortly after a group of hikers. The atmosphere of the pub was cozy, with low ceilings and an old-fashioned charm. Unfortunately, the hikers were taking a while to order their drinks, and then the owner insisted on taking their food orders one by one. Despite the hikers being fine with us ordering in between, the owner wanted to take all their orders first. After waiting for about 20 minutes with our boots off as requested, we decided to leave and eat somewhere else. It's a shame because the last time we visited this pub about 15 years ago, we didn't feel welcome either, despite changes in staff. It was disappointing to have a similar experience this time."

"probably the best Chinese in edenbridge. don't get me wrong, the others are great too. but this one has only the edge, except that it is only a takeaway, no seat in the restaurant. the quality of eating was great. the crispy chili cow reminds me of the time on asia. the noodles are fresh and unobstructed, and the rice fluffy and well seasoned. the spicy foods are great and hot as they should be. also the typical western flavors are sweet and sour and so on are very good. why travel to soho in london if this is available in their neighbourhood. that will be a regular hunting for these lazy nights. faster service also in Chinese new year!"

"Sorry but this was one of the worst curry house experiences I've had. We were waiting for approaching an hour and a half to get our food, then when it arrived it was pretty cold and my chicken didn't quite taste right. If the food was tasty I wouldn't have minded the wait so much. We had no apology for the length of time we were waiting. It was also frustrating that there were a continuous number of take away customers coming and going clearly getting priority over sit-in customers. Pretty disappointed for a curry house."

"We met up with friends for a get-together at this restaurant, and it was our second visit while it was their first. They mentioned the friendly welcome they received. The menu was very diverse, and we all enjoyed our meals – Scampi, Fish Pie, Ham, Egg Chips. The person who had the Fish Pie said it was the best they had ever had! We also indulged in a variety of desserts. The prices were reasonable. This is a classic pub with traditional values, offering good service and courtesy. We and our friends agreed that we would like to return soon."

"Pleasant cafe apart from the service we experienced. We were given half a thimble full of milk to accompany two pots of tea. Requested more so waitress took half full jug to fill which then failed to arrive. One of us went back inside to obtain milk to be met with surly response. Given full thimble of milk without a smile. Subsequently had to go back inside to obtain further top up again without a smile. Seriously considered requesting refund of tip. Can only assume waitress awaiting customer service training."

"Wanted to have dinner at Hattusa but decided it was too much like hard work to take a 5 year old out. Opted for the shopping and was impressed. The ordering was quick and easy and the meal was ready at the scheduled time. The packing was well organized and the portions generous. Most importantly the food was excellent. An additional plus was that each item for each order (there were 3 dishes ordered) was separately wrapped so we could use the extra salad the next day. Will certainly use them again."

"I have visited this restaurant many times, as well as its now-closed sister restaurant The Montien in Westerham. The food here is always excellent, delicious, and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful with menu choices. The Lamb Mussaman Curry is absolutely delicious, and the Tiger Cry is a unique steak dish. There is a convenient car park right across from the restaurant, and I have never had a bad meal here in over 10 years of dining. The menu is extensive and I am slowly trying everything on it. I always look forward to my visits to this restaurant."

"Having been invited to a Ruby Wedding party in the Chartwell Room I took a look at Donnington Manor Hotel's website and was very impressed by photos of stylish gardens, a sumptuous and historic dining-room, and delicious-looking food. The guests (38 of us) had been asked to choose three courses from a menu provided in advance, and I chose home-made chicken liver pate with red onion jam and sourdough bread; roasted sirloin of beef served with roast potato, seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and red wine jus, and for pudding apple tarte tatin with vanilla ice-cream. I'm sorry to say that the food was a considerable disappointment: The pate had no discernible flavour so the blob of red onion jam was most welcome, but aside from (delicious-looking) bread rolls served in a basket I don't recall having any sourdough bread. The beef was overcooked and so tough I couldn't cut it, and managed only the softest bits of the two slices (in fairness, my brother, who was seated at another table, enjoyed his beef). Two halves of a small roast potato were hidden under the beef as were some small pieces of boiled carrot and French bean. The red wine jus had all the hallmarks of instant gravy from a jar (glutinous, and with unidentifiable dots in it), and had been poured over everything on the plate. The Yorkshire puddings looked marvellous, but I gave mine to a fellow guest so can't comment on that. The apple tarte tatin was *delicious*!! Sadly it was only about four spoonsful, and the modest scoop of vanilla ice-cream, equally delicious, was almost completely melted by the time I received it. I think there were only three waiters; it's not a surprise that there were long delays in service. The reason I didn't comment on these shortcomings in the food was that I was sitting next to the host, my cousin, and he and his wife chose Donnington Manor because that's where they held their wedding reception, forty years previously."

"The server was very friendly and attentive, but unfortunately, some of the items we wanted to order were not available. So, two of us ended up ordering fish and chips. The fish was difficult to eat due to the thick, greasy batter coating it. My plate was also covered in grease, making it a very disappointing meal. The chips were decent, and although the service was slow, the staff was very helpful. The interior of the pub was nice, but overall, I would not return to this restaurant."

"I have been eating vegetarian food from this restaurant for the last seven months; there is no compromise with the taste. Talking with the cook about the secret of tasty food in his restaurant, He replied that it's because of his raw ingredients and his experience in cooking in one of the top hotel for years. He Makes his food so perfect that no one else can take that food more tater. I am lucky that he has opened his restaurant in Dunton green. I have seen his kitchen and cold storage room, It's fully cleaned, and everything is perfectly managed I recommend you try veg from the flowers of India"

"The atmosphere was nice, but the restaurant was empty except for a food critic. The food was mediocre and lacking flavor, quite unexciting. I will not be returning. The service was cold and distant. The music was terrible, with popular pop songs mashed up into remixes. I will not be going back and do not recommend this place."

"I was quite disappointed with my experience at Bill's. I had been anticipating dining there for a while, but unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. I ordered the fish pie, which was disappointing as the fish was overcooked and lacked flavor. The service was also slow and the atmosphere was only average. In my opinion, the restaurant did not live up to the high praise it had received."
