"We made a reservation at the Butchers Arms for dinner with my father. We had frequented this restaurant numerous times when it was under its previous owners. My father is quite difficult to please, and we may have set high expectations. Overall, I would say everything was satisfactory, but the unique touches that made it stand out were no longer there. The expertise of the sommelier, the pre-dinner drink at the bar to peruse the menu and select wines, and the dessert trolley were all missing. The food was decent but didn't reach exceptional levels, and my father's dish was poorly presented and not worth the price. The venue itself was lovely, and the woman in charge was friendly (even managing to handle my father's complaints better than we could), but it didn't live up to what it used to be, leaving us feeling a bit disappointed."
