"My wife and our 2 kids enjoyed a sunny Saturday afternoon in 5 Lounge Bar of Hotel Metropole (kids are accepted until 7pm !). The view is absolutely perfect, but try to come early as it opens at 5pm, if not, it will be very fast fully occupied and you will not get a table... We ate Meeze and drank cocktails, a few choices of food and drinks are available but the prices are expensive ! It also limits the number of people who can come and afford the place, which is not so bad after all. I will post some photos of the view for you to see what I'm talking about. Expect smokers around you as it is an open air place."

"Really wonderful trip, if a tad expensive. The scenery was stunning and the boat was laid out very well so that you could enjoy your meal and see the sights. We were assured that my vegetarian needs would be catered for quite easily when we booked but when we got on board the waiter became very agitated with me telling him that I could not eat from the set menu. I wasn't offered any alternative to the 1st course as a replacement for the langoustine mousse offered to the other members in our group but It seemed that my dietary needs were accommodated for by the chef for the entree, when an asparagus starter was brought out with my friends lobster. The main course however caused quite a cafuffle when the waiter brought out the asparagus starter again!! He became very agitated when I pointed out that I had already eaten this for entree and tried to force me to eat what he had brought out!! Thankfully my French is pretty good and I was insistent that I didn't want the same again. He swore(in French-me##e m##de m#rde! and eventually came back with an offer for an alternative dish, veg ravioli. I accepted the offer and agreed to wait 10 minutes for it to be cooked and watched my friends eat their steak When my main course finally arrived it consisted of a small bowl of salty veg soup with 2 squares of lasagne type pasta!!! Deconstructed ravioli? And inly 1 piece. We didn't make a fuss as were have a lovely break with friends but considering the meal cost 250CHF we were very disappointed. Pudding was lovely though along with the Swiss wine and Prosecco and Cassis, but nothing could have outdone the lac leman scenery. Simply stunning."

"Première fois dans ce resto. Mes parents y vont souvent et nous ont fait découvrire.On y est allé avec La Fourchette.Ce soir là, il faisait très chaud et lourd. Heureusement, le restaurant est équipé de ventilateurs au plafond et les fenêtres ouvertes, il y avait de l'air qui circulait. L'ambiance était agréable!Pour le repas, nous avons tous pris de la viande (en tartare, sur ardoise ou grillée) avec des accompagnements de légumes et frites. Tous les plats étaient délicieux!!!Puis, il y a eu les desserts (La Fourchette oblige ;p ), pareil nous nous sommes régalés.Pour le service, il n'y avait qu'une personne alors que le resto était presque plein. On n'a jamais eu de retard ou longeur de service. Il a super bien géré et en plus, il était souriant et très sympa.C'était une belle découverte et on y retournera!"

"The concierge at my hotel told me about this place, describing it as honest and trustworthy. We decided to give it a try and were given a table facing the street. No big deal, however, as we understood this was a good place for truffles, a true delicacy. In fact, they celebrate truffles as a festival, putting them on many of their offerings!For an appetizer, I had mashed potatoes with seven grams of truffles, and my partner ordered a green salad with Italian dressing, also sprinkled with the same seven grams of truffles. As an entree, I decided on the tagliatelle pasta while my guest asked for a made to order risotto that did take 20 minutes to prepare. The two choices cost about $40 each and were both delicious with 15 grams of truffles added to each one. They suggested a Swiss red wine which went very well with all of our dishes. Truffles are becoming rarer and more costly, and it was a special experience to have them with every dish.We met a pleasant French couple sitting at an adjacent table who were having the "entrecote," a very appetizing looking New York steak. We plan to go back to try it."

"L'Escapade est l'un des mes QG depuis 20 ans. La cuisine et le service ont toujours été excellents.Lors de ma dernière visite, nous étions installés sur la terrasse. Nous avons pu découvrir la carte d'été, un tartare de saumon de première fraîcheur aux saveurs asiatiques, des St-Jacques servies en carpaccio avec de la truffe, une terrine de foie gras fondante et ses accompagnements sucrés. Les trois entrées étaient délicieuses. En plat, un tartare de bœuf demandé très épicé mais arrivé un peu fade, dommage car la qualité de la viande est top.En dessert, une tarte au citron crémeuse et pas trop sucrée, et une tarte tatin avec sa glace vanille, 2 desserts bien préparés pas trop consistants.Nous avons sélectionné un rosé de Bandol pour accompagner nos plats. Pour quelqu'un comme moi qui n'apprécie pas le rosé, cette bouteille valait le détour. Avec 30° à 21h00 le rouge n'aurait pas passé.Le service, un exemple de gentillesse à suivre à Genève. Toutefois, un peu longuet sur la fin de soirée.L'addition est assez chère mais la qualité des mets le justifie."

"This buffet-style vegetarian restaurant is located discretely in the historic Mairie des Eaux-Vives building. Vert Attitude is similar to the Hiltl and Tibits vegetarian restaurants found in the German-speaking part of Switzerland, but smaller. Diners choose from an attractive buffet of hot and cold dishes which are helpfully marked when gluten free or vegan. Chefs are constantly refreshing the buffet with a good variety of mouth-watering creations. We were very pleased with the selection. The price is a function of the weight of your fully-laden plate. Alternatively, there is a selection of vegetarian burgers on offer. Considering the quality, the price is reasonable (by Swiss standards). We will certainly return for more."

"We were on the lookout for a great steak and we're too tired to go too far from home. Having walked passed this place a million times we thought we should try it. The food was excellent, no fuss straight classic fare from a geneva institution. The restaurant has booth seating which I can imagine was once a burgundy velour but has since been remodeled - what a shame! We ordered chateaubriand which at chf 98 for two was a pretty standard to low price for Geneva. It was delicious, perfectly cooked and on this quiet holiday evening, it was clear the chef was happy to cook this classic piece instead of the ever popular hamburger. The waiter made very helpful wine suggestions which oddly were only available by the glass. We also had an excellent seasonal asparagus starter and coffee and free liqueur to finish. Chf 146 for two - well fed we were very happy with this classic restaurant."
