"Back in my 'day ' (the late 80 's, 90 's and early 2k), Blackwood Rd had the usual town/village shops. Walks to school including a stop at Taylors News for sweets, chippy tea, hair cut, pharmaceutical support... Roll on 30 years later, and something that could have come a lot lot sooner (when I was walking the streets, on my way home after a night out at the local public houses when turning '18 ' in the late 90 's) there is a restaurant. An indian restaurant. Visiting parents, as now live in Lincolnshire, and they took me here... Service; fantastic, very personal, great conversation. Location; 'hidden ' away, and parking could be an issue if early doors. Drinks; unlicensed, so BYOB. Wine for me. Food; when 'testing ' an Indian restaurant I will always go with the chefs/restaurants 'own ' Jalfrazi. If its good, I know the rest of the menu will be good. Lots of experience here . No complaints from parents, nor myself. Price; absolutely spot on for portion size. Lamb Tikka Sylheti Jalfrazi. Not over powered with chilli, just a nice warmth on the back of the tongue, perfection. As well as the starters, all was beautiful. Highly recommended, and parents say take out/delivery is spot on too. Those that know me, you know I like my curry. If i say its good, its very good. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"This review has taken longer than expected because I have been in two minds about leaving one. But considering how bad the situation could have been for somebody else, I concluded that I should write one. Unfortunately, a few weeks ago, having ordered a chicken sandwich with soup combination, I was served chicken which was 'allergen contaminated ' with prawns, which I have an allergy to. The contamination included whole prawns. The manager came out to see me and dealt with the situation politely and offered a refund, cookie for my son, and a new bowl of soup for me. She said that the chef did not know how the contamination had occurred. I understand that mistakes happen, which I why I didn 't make a great fuss (mainly because the reaction I had was relatively mild itchy throat, slight cough, and increased body temperature), and I thought it best not to leave a review. But having heard another story in the media, recently, about how a restaurant 's negligence had led to a serious reaction for a customer, I changed my mind. Of course, this could be a one off incident, but please be aware that something like this can happen and it can happen anywhere I will certainly be more cautious with everything I eat from now on and not assume that what I order is what I will get. Ordinarily, I would never expect to find prawns in a chicken sandwich. I would have given this eatery another chance, but I didn 't receive a refund for my meal (obviously I didn 't finish the sandwich I ordered); the manager never came back to process that or check on me in the last 20 minutes (whilst I was waiting to be sure I was okay). Consequently, I will not be eating there again which is a shame, as they are our neighbours."
