"We went to the restaurant for a Sunday roast and to watch football. The chicken and pork were delicious and served with fresh homemade Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, gravy, and tasty braised cabbage with roast carrots. Although fish and chips were not on the menu, they kindly made it for our daughter who really loved it, especially the warm freshly baked cookie with ice cream for dessert. We will definitely be returning for the food, not just for the football. The pub has recently been refurbished, and the kitchen is now visible in the back room. The pub looks great."

"I would've given 4 or 5 stars but my table had new glasses but one of them had coke clearly left inside tiny bit so it was clearly forgotten to be washed. So we told the waiter and got given a fresh clean glass. Food was nice but a bit higher price then before and my ferrora richer ilkshake was really milky so there clearly was not enough chocolate as at the end it had just whipped cream. Overall lamb chops were nice and lamb curry was really good but the quantity was fairly low. We spent about £80 so it wasn't too expensive however could have been better. I probably would just get lamb curry and naan bread and ask them to make my milkshake less milky. Came back again and it was horrible I would give it 1 star from 4. The lamb shank was saltless The chicken even though I said very very spicy he made one good and the other without spice. They mixed my portions of bread as one instead of giving them separate as I bought 2 portions of naan bread and the lamb pieces were flooded with BBQ sauce. Chicken quarter leg was nice my niece said but won't ever come back to this place it's gone under not sure if management changed. Customer service was not great either."

"I visited this restaurant last Sunday. I have driven past it many times and decided to try it out with my family. The food was very tasty and the portions were large. Initially the staff were quite but when were leaving they were very engaging...and friendly. I like this because they left us to eat without any disturbances and when we wanted something it was easy to call them over and they responded promptly. I will be returning again soon."

"This place was nice at one stage but now it went downhill the hygiene is 0 the little guy that cooks he doesn’t even know what hygiene is . The food is got no flavour anymore the pizza comes all soggy and they add different prices for each items even the dips you have to pay for."

"Terrible experience for my friend’s birthday last night. The waiters provided NO SERVICE. I had to chase to receive the drinks I ordered. I had to chase to get my full order. My friend waited over an hour to receive her birthday cake, which she (and friends after she became upset) had to chase multiple times. To make matters worse we came with multiple children and given no kids menus or informed of what was available. We were never asked if everything was ok for our food and drinks one it arrived. After this terrible experience I was then charged £5 on a £35 meal. Won’t be back in a hurry and would advise not to go here for special occasions."

"Nice cozy atmosphere, good food and lovely staff. There were 23 of us and virtually everyone ordered something different from the menu, in advance. Lauren was just amazing and helpful at every turn. Couldn’t have done it without her.. She not only coped with cancellations and changes with a smile, but also helped to serve at table. The food was well presented and tasty and we all admired dishes we shall try next time (this is the 5th time all the family have travelled to meet up here for a meal). The large back dining room is great and just the right size for a big party. Thanks so much to Lauren and all the staff for an excellent time. Faultless! Xxx"

"I had a great time at this pub. The location is convenient with plenty of parking and bus routes. They offer a good value 2 or 3 course meal deal. The three cheese mushroom bruschetta was a bit too cheesy and creamy for my taste, but still delicious. The prawn and calamari could have been of better quality as I found them to be too deep fried. The fish and chips were a safe and tasty choice, but I wish they would offer salad as an alternative to peas, rather than as a replacement for the chips. Overall, it was a pleasant evening catching up with a friend and I look forward to returning soon."

"I came here with my family Saturday evening for dinner. We had a friendly reception and were seated at a nice table. We had poppadoms to start, which were lovely. We had prawn dishes and a mixed Biriani and chicken dansak with rice and naan bread. The food was very good indeed. A big bonus is that you can bring your own wine with just £1.50 each corkage so that’s an excellent feature of the restaurant. I live locally so I think I am very lucky to have such a good restaurant close by and I would encourage locals to support the business as much as possible. Thank you very much for a lovely evening, Forest Tandoori. We will be back no doubt."

"Chilly Sunday afternoon, 4 of us headed done to The Castle for a roast. Quick service straight away, drink on table in under 5 minutes. Spot on. All 4 ordered roast: chicken, 2 pork and 1 beef. Slightly smaller portion than I was expecting, and no gravy on the side, just what you were given which was a little too thin for my liking, but tasted ok. We all enjoyed the food and the drinks and deserts came around and they were good too, no complaints really. I had the cheese for desert and they gave me tons of crackers and loads of cheese an excellent portion of cheese and great value. I like this place a lot think it could do with some minor improvements but strong Sunday roast."

"I have been a loyal customer of Sahara Grill since they opened their Leyton branch near the mosque and have spent a lot of money there over the years. Two weeks ago, I went there for lunch with my kids. I noticed that there was only one other occupied table as I circled around looking for parking. When we entered, a staff member did not greet us or acknowledge my children. Instead, the first thing he asked was if we had a reservation, even though the restaurant was almost empty. Feeling unwelcome, we decided to leave and went to Nando's instead. We had a great time there and spent half the amount on our meals. Due to the rude service, I will not be returning to Sahara Grill and have advised my family, friends, and acquaintances to do the same."

"Food wasn't the greatest but as the for the service, horrendous, and i quickly understood why the restaurant was empty, i still gave them a go and ordered lamb bhuna, chicken jalfrezi, king prawn tika, prawn puri, tarka dhaal, the bombay potatoes, garlic naan, plain naan, and pilau rice, so i can confidently say i gave them a proper go, the food just didn't hit the spot. I must say due to their service i would not be going again, they were not attentive at all and the manager did not even care about the business, i wouldn't recommend anyone to go"

"pink chai and karak chai are very tasty and delicious. I tend to go here for the drinks, as I am always satisfied with the consistency in their taste. the kebab roll is simple, kebab packed in shana parantha if they have ever tried this. better off getting it from their local kebab shop, tastier and cheaper. But I really enjoy her Desi breakfast, which I would recommend. the halwa puri is also delicious! I enjoy spending time here, socializing with friends and appreciate their customer service. update: chocolate chai mousse tastes like heaven, it is in the grunde ganache. they have not tasted the chai, but I love it as it is. that makes me think of it. the kunafa cheesecake was simple, expected more excitement in my mouth. no toilet that is uncomfortable, but they allow them to wash their hands."

"that was just a normal place to eat, we would eat here again; No. the service was mediocre, there were so many children at the point that it was difficult to hear the other person who spoke to them. when they made a birthday song, they played the music so loud that it was too much in a restaurant. the bathroom looked like it had not been touched in hours, maybe all afternoon, no toilet paper in one of the stands."

"Had lunch today at the King's Head. On arrival, the bar service was good. Sat at a window seat... it was not good to see a dirty table chair with stains on the seat... Food ordered easily, but such a disappointment; fish chips...should be simple to cook, but so little fish and so much batter all dry... Also the King's Head was so noisy with children screaming.... There was an event nearby cordoned off, but this made not difference. Despite this being our local, we won't return in a hurry. Management with respect take this comment on board. A one off function may pay a lot, but locals calling in regularly is better in the long run…."

"A week ago three of us where In Walthamstow. Visited the Goose early evening which was a pleasant and comfortable pub, drink prices reasonable and friendly staff, BUT, terrible food. One of our party was unwell that evening and the steak pie I had was soggy and tasted like it had been microwaved? served with chips and a tiny spoonful of peas and frankly only just about edible. We had a similar experience a few weeks earlier in the Golden Lion in Bexleyheath with the same pub chain. Staff are clearly not being managed or properly trained? Would pop in for again for a drink but not the food."

"I can see why this place gets such mixed reviews on social media. Food was great good sized portions, nicely presented and sensibly priced. We ordered the boar and bacon burger, fish pie, spaghetti with meatballs, hummous and falafel wrap and everything arrived in reasonable time and tasted fine. The problem is the bizarre waiting between breakfast and lunch service i.e. breakfast finishes at 11.30, lunch doesn't start until 12.30, but you have to arrive early to secure a table since they don't accept reservations (and they also rarely answer the phone even during opening hours so you can't double check timings). We tried to order lunch at 12.24 but the assistant said we would have to wait for 6 minutes, while she took orders from other people behind us. Unfortunately almost everyone wanted lunch and the queue was stretching out of the door. They also run out of a lot of things e.g. Coke, bitter, apple juice and only sell organic lager, which one of my lunch guests informed me was pretty grim. There's something slightly weird about the attitude of the employees. You get the impression the whole set up is to suit the management, not the customers, but that individual staff would put it right if only they dared speak up..."

"We lucked out as arrived at London Eye too early and were struggling to find anywhere to eat breakfast, a short 5 minute walk away though we found Giraffe. My first experience of this chain and if the experience we had here is anything to go by then we will all definitely be going back! The service was exceptional, very friendly and very fast! The breakfasts were all huge! And the hot sandwich with small drink for £7 was great value, as the sandwich was HUGE! Including bacon, sausages and a hashbrown (I swapped out the egg for sausage). Sandwich came with small juice or hot drink. My only slight issue was with the female toilets; the cubicles are all very narrow and then the toilet roll holder is huge and sticks so far out that when you sit down on the toilet you have to lean and twist slightly to avoid it! So not the most comfortable.We were surprised that a tip was automatically added to the bill, however I understand it is not compulsory but suggested. Perhaps this is common in London chains? However, we were more than happy to pay as were all very happy with our meals."

"I have never been treated so appalling in any establishment. THIS IS NOT A CHILD FRIENDLY PUB! The landlady is a horrible, bitter women who cannot stand children and make sure parents know that. I went to this pub with my husband and my 2 children. Whilst there, I saw a friend and went to her table to say hello. My 7 year old followed me and the landlady told me and the whole pub ! that my son was running ? . I tried to argued that he wasn't running but she wouldn't have that and she went on and on to make sure I understood her rules and that if he continue running around ? we would have to leave. I felt very embarrassed but also upset as he was not running he only followed me! My children are shy and quiet and understand/follow social rules. By reading other reviews, it seems this pub have a known reputation. There are plenty of decent pubs in E17 who need our support: run by decent people with common sense and respect for others, who embrace equality and do not treat parents and children different from other customers. The Nags Head, I am afraid, is not one of them! Why display signs that give a false idea that children are welcome when managers clearly can't stand the sight of them?"

"We attended a funeral in the function room at this venue today.. it was an absolute disaster from the start. We went to the loo as we arrived and there was no paper in the disabled loo (it was only early lunchtime so not at the end of a busy session). When we walked into the function room it was freezing cold…it was raining outside and a chilly autumnal day but they still had cold air con on and two windows open/broken. We went to get a cup of tea from the station set up but there was no hot water so we had to wait for that.. that came but then there was no milk. When the milk was served it was in a huge jug about 4 litres which I couldn’t lift. The mugs didn’t fit the saucers and wobbled and spilt the tea. The food was served late and it was not labelled so couldn’t work out what anything was. Disastrous for vegetarian or allergy sufferers. The “hot food” was stone cold, greasy and rock hard. The sandwiches were awful, thin stale bread with little filling… there was no garnishing or anything to make it look appealing either… I wouldn’t recommend this venue for a function. The staff were polite but not very efficient. It’s a cold dreary place that needs a good clean and lick of paint wouldn’t go amiss.. I would be embarrassed to serve and charge for food like it. Weddings and funerals should be catered for properly so they run smoothly without stress for the families. It wasn’t even busy so there was no excuse with at least 3/4 waitresses working. It was appalling."
