"We booked here on a Sunday evening Mother's day. Every place in town was full earlier in the day, and we were happy to find an evening booking. The place was empty when we arrived. The waiters were very nice, but ages of time would pass without us seeing them. We wouldn't see anyone at all, so couldn't even flag someone down. The child's menu listed a cheeseburger and fries. She got a burger with no cheese or anything but a meat patty and we had to wait another 10 minutes or so for her fries. This was after waiting quite a while for the adult meals as well. The canapes and bread were very good, but the egg in the cheddar custard was very under done. The sirloin was in four slices, one of which was entirely gristle. Took ages to get the bill when we finally decided to leave. Strangest of all was that there were only three tables in the restaurant that we could see, so we couldn't figure out why no one was ever around."

"Sometimes it's not about the age of your drink but the age of the place where you drink. This 400 year old pub is steeped in the history of Oxford university all the way. Try the mulled Cider here if they are offering it around the time of your visit. I believe it's a seasonal offering though. The ales are pretty good too. Great drinks and an interiors which smells fragrantly of the richness of the legacy that it is a part of, Kings arms is a must visit if you are traveling to Oxford. Ask any local student studying at the university, they'll swear by the pub too."

"I have been wanting to try DaBa for a while now, and I am happy to report that it did not disappoint! It is now one of my top three favorite local British Indian restaurants. The food was cooked perfectly, especially the Chicken Saag which can easily be overcooked and taste bitter. It was a chef recommendation at DaBa and it was spot on for my taste. The Peshwari Naan that I ordered was also perfect. My partner had the vegetable Thali, which was also very good, although the Rhita was a bit too sweet for our liking. Overall, I highly recommend DaBa Spice. Please give them your support, I am sure you will not be disappointed."

"We’d booked a late session for a family group of 9 and we had a table nicely set back in the middle. Tor looked after us as well as we could have hoped, they had saved us 9 portions of beef in case we had all wanted it which was a very thoughtful touch. We polished off 5 of them. The beef was deliciois annd more than enough and nicely cooked, plenty of veg to suit all. Kids had the burgers which were all very enjoyed. Clean plates all round speaks volumes. Service was always attentive, efficient and friendly. Community pubs are the way forward and when run well like this give a nice atmosphere as well as something for the whole community. Thank you all, lovely experience, we’ll bring the family again if you can put up with us :"

"Had a wonderful one-night stay at this magnificent property only 20 mins away from Oxford. The Feathers hold such a rich history, it is worth a visit regardless. We parked for free in the fire station parking which was only 3-5 mins walk from the hotel. Our room was nicely decorated and stocked with essentials. The reception staff and waiting staff were cheery and easy to talk to. Some guests wished us good morning, it absolutely made our day. Lastly, words are not enough to describe how amazing the breakfast banana walnut bread served with cream fresh was!! Thank you very much team at The Feathers."

"So decided to try this restaurant out last night, nice central location, on street parking around it, small and slightly dated interior but clean and comfortable. 1 starter each, shared risotto for main and ice cream/sorbet for dessert. Food was decent, I wouldn’t say its mind blowing but it was good however on reflection I can’t honestly say it was good value for money. £20pp for seafood risotto and £10 each for 3 scoops of ice cream/sorbet is IMHO over priced by 20-30%. £100 for the 2 of us with no alcohol on the bill was frankly a bit of a shock. FYI I expected a scoop of sorbet but you do get 3 scoops the same portion size as the ice cream which was just too much so be aware of that. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £40–50"

"We visited the Crown on Sunday . We felt customer service was poor, we waited 20 mins before we had to go and ask if anyone was able to take our order only to realise the table behind us who came in before us had also not ordered food either. We were never asked if everything ok . Other than the fact we were hungry we may have been more critical re food but it was typical pub food . We also ordered drinks and had one completely wrong . Then bill was wrong and 12% service charge which we didn’t feel was justified so had that taken off . Would we re visit? Based on our experience and possibly when other places could be tried. No. Better staff training could have made this experience more positive as clearly staff were not working as a team ."

"well.its false advertising..outside the front door and on their website it state eat out to help out ...50% off...but when the bill came £149.00 only £20 was taken off. At no point were we told or shown this This is decieving .Food was prepared to a high standard...still feel miffed at being in the dark...I see other dinners surprised as well. . Having said all that the food was delicious, the bread fantastic. They didnt cook my wifes steak to well done but was easy enough to cook a little further on. At some point I was going to ask for a table near a waiter as 2 tables were served drinks before us as we were seated 10 minutes before they arrived! But they were friendly staff and the food quality was excellent, all in the classic enviroment of The classic Bear Hotel in Woodstock. The vegtables and side were cooked respectfully and the wine sumptuous , shame on the pricing, it was our wedding Anniversay and wanted to make it special."

"our lunch was a Christmas gift from our daughter, which we have every year! we enjoyed the whole experience very much. the restaurant looked beautifully decorated, my man appreciated the music really and the eating was delicious. the only criticism that I had a job to find the aubergine frit in my starter! the staff is very responsive and helpful and we praise oliver our waiter who could tell us exactly what was on our teller, maybe I would have asked him to identify the aubergine! the size of the portions was right and my daughter was very impressed by the photos we sent them from all our curses."

"Popped in for sunday lunch and had a warm welcome on arrival. Given a choice of 3 meats and ordered drinks. Food came out promptly and hot with 5 veg, Yorkshire and loads of meat. Plate was piled high! Very tasty and enjoyable. Only two Choices for desert but the chocolate brownie I had was excellent. Really good value in a quiet locals pub"
