"first the restaurant deserves high accents for flexibility. because of a change of our plans we have shown up a night early for our reservation, and with only our planned the restaurant is popular, so we were pleasantly surprised when they found us. a quiet table without waiting. the manager (sophie) took care of everything and ended up leading us professionally through our entire meal. for the starters we had the mixed salat (big, colorful and extremely fresh), the Wallisan wine soup (my sohn became more familiar on this trip and the walliser specialities (a delicious teller tender cheese). for the main course there was only one choice in our heads the fondue! we chose the trufflefondue and added dried meat. it was spectacular. the best fondue we ever had. my daughter always said how she could not go back to fondue that she had done with her university mates. after that we have smeared the la religieuse (the nonne) the burned part of the bottom of the fondue pot delicious. for dessert...again...fondue this time, toblerone fondue with assorted obst and rubber bears. delicious. all this was done with sophies choice (the homemade cinnamon plumb aperitif des managers, which was quite smooth, non-too strong and a beautiful end to a great night. sophie and team at saycheese! for a wonderful evening great food, great service, great fondue training. can't wait to come back!"

"This is a must if you’re skiing Zermatt! Make sure to make a reservation and hope to catch it on a nice day because the views and food combined are the most elite experience one could ask for. Everything we ate and drank was beyond delicious and all on a sunny day on the side of the mountain with views of the Matterhorn. Staff was friendly, menu had a lot of variety, and vibes are unbeatable. Would definitely recommend this over or instead of Chez Vrony if you’re having difficulty with reservations!!"

"I simply adore Blatten! Hands down my favourite apres ski spot during winter, and a lovely coffee/lunch place in the summer. On the way down from Furi, or a short hike away from Zermatt. Been there on several occasions and both food and service were always outstanding. The only real problem I have there is: Bombardino oder Gili-Gili? :"

"I would give a 4.3 if that were possible. The meal starts with a glass of champagne for all and a piece of bruschetta, which is not very good. I did not care for my agnolotti dish, but my son, daughter and husband enjoy lyes their meals, which I sampled and found them to be better as well. The atmosphere of the restaurant has a casual feel, that does not seem to match the dining experience."

"Literally the most embarrassing foodstore that has called themselves döner kebab shop I have been to in the world. I have been to German ones, ones in the UK, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Turkey, Greece... knowing the good ones, the authentic oned and the standard ones and the bad. I have seen them all. But this one takes the crown of most pathetic kebab shop, being worst in food and pricing. The döner kebab stick was fried, heated with 60C° , so basically raw. We ordered a fallafel dürum because the kebab looked straight out of the trash bin. We got the 99 penny supermarket fallafel with a one-dimensional filling, tasting like sunflower oil it was fried in. We payed almost 15 Franc, which is mote than 15€ for one dürum. It was 80% lettuce, 10% onion, 3% falafal and the cheap no-name brand garlic sauce. Literally i payed for dough with lettuce. It was cold and just plain and simple nasty. A disgrace for the little village and a bigger disgrace for the name of döner kebab."

"Nach unserer Wanderung wollten wir gerne etwas kleines Essen. Im Dorf war zu dieser Zeit viel los, haben hier in der hintersten Ecke im Garten doch noch einen Platz gefunden. Sehr freundlicher Service, fröhlich und gibt zu allem Auskunft was wir fragen (Dorffest, Herkunft der Wurstware etc. . Die Walliser Platte die wir bestellt haben (ohne vorher einen Preis anzufragen war genial. Sehr gut bestückt mit edlem Fleisch und Käse. Einfach köstlich. Der Preis war dann überraschend tief (für unsere Züri Verhältnisse . Das haben wir sehr gerne bezahlt. Vielen Dank für den sehr netten Service. Und die Ehringer Wurst haben wir am nächsten Tag in der angegebenen Metzgerei gekauft :"

"the restaurant whymperstube has been known for its cheese specialities for decades. but not only: also meat lovers are coming to taste. various types of cheese and meat fondue, delicious raclette, and various other dishes are tasty and well prepared: over the past few years, the different pächters have the traditional, very popular at every season, in which almost exclusively old larch wood is built, and which (especially in the hourly) is guided by the family history of the family for years and years. the new pächter (barbara and ueli) put some new accents, whether in decoration or in offer. versatile wine map, of course with walliser specialties. although the restaurant was booked at our two visits, we were very attentive and friendly served. the ordered came amazingly fast on the table, and the various dishes tasted best on all sides. the noise level is rather high due to the high occupancy, but not unpleasant. the tables (especially in the area of the rear hourly) are somewhat close to each other. but this is simply part of it and is not inappropriate. not least, it allows the conversation from table to table, and this in all languages!"

"We have eaten fancy lunches every day while skiing Zermatt for a week, our absolute favorite was Enzian. The staff was so welcoming, the custom drinks were yummy, and the food could not have been better! We feel we found a “hidden gem” on the mountain that would recommend to anyone! Highly recommend the chicken “burger” the quiche! Additionally, they were the only restaurant on the mountain who compared our IDs to our Covid cards and we felt very “Covid-safe” there. Definitely on our return list!"

"Der Empfang Die Rezeption besteht aus einer unscheinbaren, bar-ähnlichen Ecke. Hinter einem laufen permanent Leute durch die ins Restaurant oder auf die Toilette wollen. In Ruhe ankommen ist in diesem Hotel definitiv nicht möglich. Einer der ersten Eindrücke des Hotels war ausserdem, dass einer der beiden Aufzüge kaputt war. Während der ganzen Dauer des Aufenthalts hat sich das auch nicht mehr geändert. Zeitweise waren sogar beide Aufzüge ausser Betrieb und man musste somit mehrheitlich die Treppe nehmen. Viel Spass im Ski-Anzug. Das Zimmer Hat einen netten und gepflegten Eindruck gemacht. Umso ärgerlicher war es, dass wir zwei 90cm Betten, die einfach zusammengeschoben waren bekommen haben. In der Mitte war somit ein Spalt und ich muss hier kaum erklären, dass das als Paar wenig Spass macht. Für den Preis erwarte ich ein King-Size Bett und nichts anderes. Das nächste und noch viel ärgerliche Problem war, dass die Türen im Hotel kaum isoliert sind und zudem einen extremen Lärm verursachen. Es war uns kaum möglich vor 24h einzuschlafen, da man alles mitbekommen hat was sich im Gang abspielte. Jedes Mal, wenn ein anderes Zimmer seine Tür geschlossen hat, vibrierte das ganze Stockwerk und ein riesen Knall ging durch den Flur. Der SPA-Bereich Viel Platz an Ungemütlichkeit. Man könnte so viel draus machen aber der ganze Bereich ist absolut lieblos gestaltet und man fühlt sich dort nie richtig wohl. Direkt neben dem Ruheraum befinden sich zwei Whirlpools die man permanent sprudeln hört. Auch die Personen (Kinder) die sich darin unterhalten. Warum man zum Ruheraum nicht einfach eine isolierte Tür macht, um den ganzen Lärm draussen zu lassen ist mir ein Rätsel. Der SPA Bereich wird als «Nacktbereich bzw. Textilfrei» angegeben und dass man sich daran halten soll. Trotzdem waren 50% der Personen in Badehosen anzutreffen. Kinder unter 16 Jahren hätten kein Zutritt haben dürfen, dennoch waren permanent Kinder anzutreffen die entsprechend auch keine/wenig Etikette hatten Abendessen Wir hatten für jeden Abend in einem der hoteleigenen Restaurants gebucht. The Kitchen, La Muna und in der Cheese Factory. Vorneweg darf man sagen, dass vor allem die Köche im The Kitchen wie auch im La Muna ihr Handwerk verstehen. Das Essen war extrem gut und wir haben uns sattgegessen. Preise natürlich an der oberen Grenze der Nahrungskette. Frühstück Angesichts des guten Essens das wir jeweils am Abend serviert bekommen haben, war das Frühstück eine herbe Enttäuschung. Die Auswahl am Buffet war für ein Hotel in der Preisklasse extrem dürftig. Warme Produkte wie Rührei, Speck oder Wurst waren fad oder abgestanden oder haben zumindest so geschmeckt. Nach Kaffee mussten wir immer proaktiv fragen. Das Servicepersonal musste schier abfangen da kein Blickkontakt hergestellt wurde. Warum man nicht direkt bei der Platzzuweisung nach dem Kaffee-Wunsch etc. fragt kann ich nicht ganz nachvollziehen. Am dritten Tag haben wir dann auch herausgefunden, dass man frisch zubereitete Eier bestellen kann. Aktiv danach gefragt wird man leider nicht. Service Das Service-Person war zwar sehr nett, aber absolut überfordert und unorganisiert. Nach der Wein- und Dessertkarte mussten wir jedes Mal proaktiv fragen. Ausserdem dauert es immer 40+ Minuten bis wir den ersten Gang auf dem Tisch hatten. Nicht weil die Köche langsam wären sondern weil die Bestellung so spät aufgenommen wurde. Ich dachte zuerst, dass hier Covid bedingt zu wenig Personal verfügbar ist. Wahrscheinlich wird dem auch so sein, aber nach genauem beobachten ist uns aufgefallen, dass das Personal ziemlich unorganisiert war. Beim Auschecken wurden wir zwar gefragt ob alles zu unserer Zufriedenheit war, allerdings wurde auf meine Kritikpunkte nicht wirklich eingegangen und wird wurden mit einem leidlichen «tut uns leid das nicht alles gepasst hat» verabschiedet. Wir vergeben 2.5 Sterne und werden das Hotel nicht weiterempfehlen. Buchung 563565072."

"and another grill in disguise! but here they experience something special (can be called a new German event gastronomy) which is difficult to grasp in a variety. so only a few words to eat and to the local. that is inconspicuous and you have to look for something. it is not exactly in the most lively part of distorted. the dining room is very atmospheric and the interieur and the decoration is presumably organically grown over years. it is very cozy and you feel comfortable and welcome. the menu with four varied courses that you can set up yourself, the main course should be the mixed grill of the lamb, who likes. the lamb and in the second service the lamb fillet were very good and also the supplements were good. great kartoffelgratin! as a speciality we experienced the beer offer with special Italian flaring. fits well with the unconventional overall concept. and really unconventional it will be in the show insert with daniels after 22 clock!"

"Make a reservation online and the staff was nice to give us the best seat with a great view. Prior to that, as their website did not indicate the direction to get there, I’ve drop them a msg via Instagram. They saw my msg but decide not to reply me. Not cool at all. End up I have to find my way there and it was not easy locating the restaurant especially with piles of snows covering the route. However I have to give credit to the waitress, her service was really good and very friendly. Her recommendation of food was on point. Will be better, if they can provide the direction on their website, if not it’s rather tough finding the place."

"elegant restaurant with cooking prepare some of the dishes in the middle of the dining room. there is the possibility to have a look at the meat selection before they order and observe how the cook prepares it on the open fire, as they are comfortable at. her table. this time the cook got my steak right and I have nothing else to criticize about eating. the service on the other side left something to be desired. most of the employees were friendly and professional, but these young lady, who mainly served our table, seemed distracted and uninterested in their job or the well-being of their customers. she just dropped the drinks/drinks before us and left. Maybe she had a bad day, but I wish that the customer in a nice restaurant would not have to suffer. all in all we had a good dinner and I can recommend this place for steak lovers."

"We came here for lunch two days ago (June 27) while doing the 5 Lake hike. It's a bit of a detour but nothing too much and totally worth it. I think all the reviews say this, but it's just so amazing and special. The ambience is so unique like fancy high alpine design meets hiking casual. It's fur throws, feathers and picnic tables. The food is beyond. We got the meat and cheese boards and the burgers . . . I highly suggest splitting the burgers even the small is giant. We missed out on dessert because we ate too much of the food, ha ha. Beware if you drink alcohol and plan to hike back up to the lifts it's just a bit harder!!! But all part of the challenge. Don't miss this!"

"We had reservations for 4 people. A waiter seats us at a table then a waitress takes over and takes care of our table. We place the order. So far so good. Then another waiter comes to see us and attacks us. That we can 't sit at a table like that, that the table is reserved, that we have to leave. He doesn 't believe us when we tell him that we have reservations and that we have been placed here. He caused such a scandal in the restaurant that everyone was looking at us and he never apologized for his attitude or his mistake. I 've never seen someone speak so badly to me in a restaurant, and for no reason at all. In short, it completely ruined our meal and it is unacceptable to be treated like this."

"Ich durfte schon zum zweiten mal im Cervo gastieren. Die Erweiterung mit dem neuen Spa Bereich, Restaurant's und dem absolut genialen Service sind himmlisch und animiert gleich länger zu bleiben. Mit viel Liebe zum Detail in Architektur , Dekoration und Einrichtung ist es wohl mehr als ein 5 Sterne Rating wert. Wer sich was gutes tun möchte sollte sich die Atmosphäre gönnen"

"I had a very different experience than the previous reviewer. I went apparently only a few days later and talked to I think the owner. He had absolutely no idea what gluten was (at one point he asked me if cheese was GF and at another point, I’m fairly certain he was checking a barbecue sauce ingredients list for “gluten” , or what on the menu could be made gluten-free. Further, yes, they do have “gluten-free burger patties” (though I’m still confused as to how and why a beef patty would contain gluten but they didn’t have GF buns when I went — my burger came on GF bread, like a sandwich. Ultimately, I ended up not getting glutened, I think mostly thanks to a diligent chef in the kitchen, but this was by far the most stressful dining experience I’ve had on this trip. If you go, know that the owner and staff are willing to accommodate food allergies, but you may need to ask a lot of questions and provide some direction."

"We had just arrived in Zermatt quite late at night and we were very hungry, so we thought it best to go to the restaurant in our hotel. However, that was a big mistake... we ordered a special Rib roast of meet (to Share) which came with a vegetable and a choice of fries or potatoes. Our waiter told us that our meal would take about an hour, so we ordered a ravioli appetiser to fill in the time. A long hour later our appetisers arrived. They were a huge disappointment especially after the long wait. The pasta was very under cooked and the appetisers were cold. Nobody came to see if the meal so far was good or if we needed more drinks. We then complained to our waiter and he apologised for the inconvenience and told us that the main curse would blow us away. We then waited another hour! After asking our waiter what was holding up our main course he told us quite rudely that he had already told us our meal would take an hour. We then reminded him that the appetisers were supposed to fill in the gap. Our waiter's reply was oh. When our meals finally arrived, they were below average. We then complained to the manager who wasn’t particularly helpful in the situation! To conclude the hotel national restaurant was not worth the visit or the bill! Although we did not return for dinner in fairness to the manager he did go out of his way to make it up to us the following two days at breakfast time."

"We went as a family for dinner and had a reservation. Right when we arrived, we were told that we would have our table for 90 minutes. It's okay to have a limit on time spent eating, but generally it is at least around 120 minutes. Our waiter was extremely rude and did not seem like he was interested in his work at all. He brought us the wrong entree, and when I pointed it out, he got very agitated to the point of snatching the menu from my hands and hitting it against the chandelier above us. He did not apologize or come back to check up on us during our meal. If I was not with family and children, I would have left right then. Overall an extremely underwhelming and disappointing experience. My recommendation would be to avoid this place. The pizzas are fine, but the pasta was not cooked well and was on the dry side with not enough sauce."
