"Nice vegan restaurant with many options. We had multiple dishes and the majority were good. The service can be improved since the staff were asking each time who ordered what rather than knowing how tables are arranged, although the ordering process was fully automated. So, better training here. Also ventilation was not good. On a rainy and cold day, inside and the top floor was super warm, and at the end we all smelled like oil!"

"We went for the day's special which was braised beef and cheese, it was supposed to include a drink and a cookie. After paying 18 Francs, we were told to move on! I explained in German that it comes with a drink and a cookie, the cashier woman said no. I said yes it does it comes with a drink and a cookie, so I picked up a beverage cup and I said I want a white chocolate cookie too. Which she handed over. My friend and I wear unhappy about the encounter."

"Delicious and well-priced food in a surprising setting. We had two different poke bowls, both very well balanced in flavours and very different, ~25 francs each. The burgers and sushi also looked great. You sit at the table and can choose from 5 different niche kitchen styles (sushi, burgers, poke bowls, gyozas and fried chicken). Great service too, and the place is super well decorated, with its own style. Quite a bit of work has definitely gone into it. The terrace is wonderful too, very calm. Plus, we were served within a timeframe of 10 minutes after ordering. So far my favourite restaurant in Zürich. If I could give it 6 stars (in comparison with everything else), I would"

"Offers a variety of burgers, hot dogs and a salad. This place is good. It seemed popular with locals. I tried the bratwurst which was an exceptionally good convincing replacement. "I don't say anything more about the fact that the food was almost cold despite the express delivery. Maybe UberEats is to blame; maybe not. But: the lamb was fatty, the dal was watery, the chicken was far dry and the rice wasn't what I ordered. Samosa was still the best, but only just. Perhaps the whole thing was seasoned in the cook's dream; no taste has been lost until the dish. With so much good Indian food on offer in the city, this one is completely unnecessary. Addendum: whoever wrote the restaurant's response would have to consider looking for a job outside of the hospitality industry. “Then next time, look for another restaurant.” Good advice, I will definitely follow it."

"I came here to my birthday dinner and was excited until I read some reviews that it was overpriced Asian fusion food. The restaurant is a bit hidden and there are only street parking available (good luck finding something... . The interior of the restaurant is black thematic tables, curtains, etc. The music is more striking like hip hop, so not as relaxing, but still good. The menu changes and there were 9 options (including 1 Dessert option). We chose the surprise menu, thought it would be different than the 9 options on the menu (it was not . Make a favor and DONT order the surprise menu and order the things you actually want. 4 of the 6 surprising menu plates were vegetarian. We also saved 4 CHF for the surprise menu. The table next to us saved 1 CHF. A good thing about the menu is that they put all food allergies or make the dish vegan / vegetarian if you wish. But I find it somewhat steep to charge the 75 CHF per person for a vegetarian meal against a meal with meat... The portions were smaller (I left hunger and I am a petite woman and shared half of the dishes with a man. The first court was the carrot bark, which was surprisingly good. The 2nd dish was the baked Beetroot salad, which consisted of Chinese cabbage, plucked radishes, baked beet, with a Ponzu sauce (but it tasted more than it was made with Calamansi instead of lemons or limes. The third dish was not potatoes from radishes that were good, but not sure if it was worth this price. The 4th court for us was the wrong salmon (our neighbours had the drawn oxtail as I preferred it no Mayo). This was also good, but would have preferred the salmon to be medium rarer or medium, as it then had more texture. The miso marinade is very easy so you don't taste it much. The story was good. The 5th court was the pho style beef. I think this was the most disappointing court. First it was sieve meat, which is the cheapest of beef cuts. The Wasabi they threw up was much too exaggerated. The broth concentrate underneath it was there to call it “pho style”. There was an emptying up (har go wrapper with bone marrow (not so much inside). Before we got the last dish, the waitress was literally wiped off the table with a wet rage. Not sure why this was necessary because you could smell the cleaner product directly before you get Dessert. The last dish was the only dessert option that was a pandan cream with chocolate crunch and cans pears on the ground. Do not waste your time or money on the wines and stay at the cocktails. All in all, it was a ok experience. As the others said, it was overpriced. I'm hungry too. Not sure I'd come back."

"Das Ambiente ist ganz schön aber ich wurde vom Essen und Service sehr enttäuscht: Bestellt habe ich einen "Gemüsesalat mit Pak-Choi und gerissenen Lachsstücken - als Hauptspeise für 28 CHF.Das klang vielversprechend. Was aber kam war eine durchaus kleine Portion. Wo war das Gemüse und waren 4 Ministückchen Lachs wirklich ernst gemeint? Anbei ein Foto, nachdem ich den Salat etwas auseinandergeschoben hatte.Bei meiner Nachfrage, ob das die Vorspeisen-Portion wäre und wo das Gemüse sei wurde mit Unverständnis reagiert. Der Kellner ging mit dem Teller in die Küche und danach hatte ich 2 halbierte Cocktailtomaten mehr darauf.Diesen Lunch habe ich bis heute nicht verkraftet. Ich lobe mir den Gemüsesalat mit Avocado und Schafskäse, den ich wenig später im Maison Blunt (auch Kreis 5) probiert habe: Ein grosser Teller mit Salat und buntem, gebratenen Gemüse, Avocado, Schafskäse und Sesamdekoration für soziale 17.50 CHF. Meine Geschäftskollegen haben einen Couscous-Salat bestellt, der auch ein lieblos angerichtetes Häufchen für (wenn ich mich recht erinnere) 22 CHF war.Vor zwei Jahren war ich schonmal im Neni. Da war ich mit dem Lunch noch zufreiden - vielliecht hat seither Management oder Koch gewechselt. Auf jeden fall eine schwache Leistung! Für mich stimmt hier das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ganz und gar nicht."

"I went here before getting a connection to the airport from Zurich Central. Immediately upon entering, a very friendly employee noticed we spoke English and quickly directed us to the English menu. She told us to take a seat and we could order at the counter when ready and was extremely helpful. I got the Big Cheese burger and was able to use my American student card to get a discount for the meal that comes with fries and a drink. The burger itself has a sort of smoky taste and the meat is very different from what you'd find in the US but still tasty. It might not have been the best burger I've ever had but the fries were absolutely delicious. They were thick and crispy on the outside and the potato on the inside was creamy and they were salted perfectly. One of the best fries I've had, which was a pleasant surprise. My only recommendation is if you don't have a big appetite two people could probably split one meal as the burger and fries are both extremely filling. The prices here are also good for Zurich although a $20USD burger meal would be a lot in the US at a fast food-like restaurant."

"Das Serviceteam scheint noch nicht so gut aufeinander angestimmt zu sein und hatte jedenfalls bei unserem Besuch vor allem mit Deutsch seine Herausforderungen. Wir hatten reserviert und einen Platz für 2 Personen am Fenster bekommen. Das ist an sich schön, nur waren die Nachbartische so nahe, dass man gegenseitig jedes Gespräch hören musste. Beim Abräumen der Vorspeise wurde das Besteck mitgenommen und dann nicht mehr ersetzt. Was bei Pizza machbar war, aber sonst eher unaufmerksam ist. Ingesamt haben für uns vor allem das Ambiente Service nicht zu den Preisen gepasst."

"Had a fantastic experience at El Alebrije tonight and am actually somewhat surprised by some of the reviews I read as I went to post this. As a Californian who has been in Europe for a month, I was craving some comfort food and really was satisfied by the Mexican cuisine at El Alebrije. The jalapeno margarita was on point, the flautas were on par with what I would expect from a local food truck at home (a good thing! and the pescado was well seasoned (and the owner Miguel was incredibly kind and brought me homemade blue corn tortillas to make the plate my own . I also really appreciated the trio of salsas reminded me of my fave taqueria in SF and each salsa had a truly different flavor profile and level of spice. They also all paired nicely with the dishes, which isn 't always the case with a salsa bar. For what it 's worth, I had the opposite experience of many of the other commenters and felt that service was more than adequate my order was taken immediately, menu choices were described clearly even with a language barrier, I was checked on multiple times, and I didn 't have to wait at all for a second drink order or to get the bill. Maybe it 's because I 've been in some more relaxed parts of Europe for the past month, but this was by far the most attentive service I 've had in weeks. The vibe is good, ambiance trendy and it felt like a less explored neighborhood of Zurich would absolutely recommend. For any Americans out there, it isn 't going to be your classic huge menu Tex Mex fajitas a la Chuy 's or Cozymel 's (nor is it purporting to be! , but it is going to be similar to what you 'd get at an authentic Oaxacan place in NYC or LA."

"Piu chose an interesting approach: For vegans, they create completely different vegetable based dishes, not vegan variations of existing ones. I tried the cauliflower on quinoa and found it quite interesting but not hugely impressive. Certainly a nice change, though. And there is a large outside seating area in good weather, though somewhat noisy. Update: Improved the rating for wide selection now. "This was a lovely change of pace in between all of the heavy Swiss food. The rice noodle soup with fish balls was delightful. The fish balls were fried and cut into slices to make it easier to eat and seasoned beautifully. I loved the flavor of the broth and it had a lovely light dill flavor. My partner had the Pho and loved his food! We also got an order of summer rolls with shrimp, they were light and a perfect appetizer. We were able to order in English and the staff was friendly and helpful. We came in an hour before closing and were so thankful we were able to dine in and eat or food. Thank you for the lovely experience!"

"I was comptemplating to write this review or not. As it might affect a restaurant reputation and affect a business. Finally I decided to write because I am writing to caution other visitors. 2 Nov 2022 Long Wai restaurant. Many reviews gave 4-5 stars. In my opinion no star for service. Food wise unable to review. Let me relate my experience. We were there for lunch because of the many positive reviews. We entered the restaurant, a young chinese lady usher us to sit down and distribute the menu. All done without eye contact nor conversation with her. We sat down and after 5 mins, the same lady approached us to have our order. The previous review mentioned the owner was from Hong Kong and able to converse in Cantonese. So I decided to order in Cantonese. The young lady totally ignore my Cantonese order and replied to me in swiss and I had to switch to English to complete my order. Again no eye contact from her during the whole ordering process. She was staring into space. We ordered 1 drink, 1 appetizer and 1 main. She refused my order and said, Lunch time each person must order a full meal (that consists of 1 appetizer, 1 main 1 drink). You cannot order 1 full meal to share with another person. I told her, we cannot finish the food, as it is too much for us and hence we share. She replied rudely with a no and took back the menu immediately. My wife was upset by her unruly behaviour, bad attitude and decided to leave the restaurant. I too got up and left with my wife. I can accept the fact she don’t speak cantonese. However her attitude, her no eye contact, her rudeness and the restaurant unusual lunch time rule to me is totally unacceptable. Owner of the restaurant, a pity I never have the chance to meet you. The experience might reverse if you are there. We both can converse in Cantonese and I am sure you definitely understood ‘hospitality’ better than that young lady. Note: Google does not allow zero star posting. As such I have to select 1 star."
