"We booked birthday drinks for 3 me, my husband and adult daughter . The website said men must wear long trousers but being a warm evening we called 1.5 hours before, asking if shorts could be worn but we were told no, long trousers only for men. We arrived about 10 minutes late due to traffic issues, but this was not a problem for the venue. Unfortunately we instantly spotted lots of men wearing shorts. We asked the hostess greeting us and they said smart shorts are OK. There are lots of places to sit. We were shown to a balcony table next to the window but we noticed the tables on the outer edge had unspoilt views of the city, so we asked if we could have one of those. The hostesses were reluctant to move us as we 'd not specifically booked it, but said if one became available then we could move. We ordered drinks from a male orential waiter who was abrupt and maybe a bit rude? My husband ordered a gin tonic and 2 glasses of champagne, to which he said is that for them with a flick of his head in our direction. I was surprised and felt a little disrespected. The drinks came, were very nice and they arrived with 3 appetisers each, along with olives and crisps a pleasant surprise. Two edge tables became free and we asked the hostesses if one was for us. Reluctantly they agreed. I say reluctantly because we were made to feel it was a bit of an effort and we were inconveniencing them. Ordering more drinks from the oriental waiter was a bind. After pointing on the menu to the one I wanted, he brought a different one. Maybe my finger slipped ? but it was an enormous effort to change my drink. All in all the bar is lovely, wonderful views and the DJ was good. I would recommend going for drinks but... make sure you book in advance and also ask specifically for an edgeside table to maximise your experience with the view. It 's a shame on our visit that one or two things weren 't perfect, but we did enjoy the venue, drinks and food."
