"This review is for the restaurant! Terrible service, disrespectful attitude towards the client! This place totally sucks, not because of the location( with is the only good thing about that trap) but because of the rude, ignorant and arrogant staff. My husband and I had a anniversary and wanted to spend it at a place that will pamper us, make us feel like as we should for our occasion.Well we did a huge mistake. 1- I requested a table with a view, when we got there the”gentleman” not so kindly told me that I am not a gust of the hotel and I cannot be sitting in that area (just to mention that there were 3-4 tables available at that sooo guarded area. Those tables after not even an one hour were filled up with people that were NOT guests also!?!? Interesting! 2-The “waiter didn’t not explain to me that if you choose one different dish from lets say the next menu (even if it is the same price for the package) this will cost you an extra 80€ total scam. And when I told the manager that no one explained to us that, he just said this is the bill you have to pay and turn his back on us!Fraud!!! 3-The staff was treating us just like we are only the next stupid people who were out of luck to be at that machine for money and not a place to be happy with. 4-As I have mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary, and you will think that there will be something special prepared, well think again! Not only that we were scammed, disrespectfully treated but also ignored DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY"

"Take a look at the positive reviews of the Hotel Gritti Palace, and you will notice that not a single visible minority has rated it highly. Having just returned from a stay there for 5 nights, I can explain why. On our stay, I often was in the entrance foyer waiting for my wife. She 's slow to get ready she literally will take 30 minutes to freshen up. Instead of sitting in the room watching TV, I waited for her downstairs and got to people watch. What I saw was disgusting. Venice is hot during the summer, so sometimes tourists come into the lobby to cool off in the AC. I realized that whenever a White family came in to cool off, the security/concierge staff let them be. However, if a Black family, or an Asian family, or a Latino family came in, they immediately asked them for their room key. By the 3rd day of our trip, I wanted to test out whether this was true. My wife (who is Black) walked in ahead of us when we got back to the hotel one night, and stood by the front door. Within 30 seconds, hotel staff came to ask her to show her a room key. A few minutes later, I walked in and stood at the door. Despite being Latino, I 'm White enough looking that I can easily pass. I stood there for 5 minutes, and no one gave me a second look. I asked the manager on duty about their policy and in his broken Italian/English, essentially confirmed that it was up to the staff 's discretion to determine who was likely to be a guest and who was not. Racism is prevalent in Italy, and was a massive problem at this supposedly classy hotel."

"We live about 40 minutes from this restaurant, run by a Sri Lankan couple, and prior to today had lunched there three times. Each of our previous experiences were good. On each of those occasions we were the only ones eating in the restaurant, so there was no stress on the kitchen. On one occasion we struck up a conversation with the owner who was very nice, told us some things about his past and showed us some pictures. We felt we were developing a bit of a relationship. Returning from a trip to San Marino, we stopped in for lunch today (4 February 2024 . I ordered chicken biryani and a side of dal (lentils with spinach. I also ordered naan (bread to go with my food. I asked for a Kingfisher beer but he told me he didn 't carry any Indian beers. I thought this strange as outside the restaurant is prominently featured in large all-cap letters SOUTH INDIAN FOOD . If that 's what you 're promoting, surely you might carry just one brand of Indian beer. When we entered there was one other table, occupied by two men. While waiting for our food (over a half hour two other parties entered, one of four people and another of two. I thought, Great! Business is picking up for him. When my biryani finally arrived, there was no steam coming off the food, and it was rather cold inside the restaurant. (I wore my down jacket the entire time I was there. I touched the sides of the bowl and it was cold. I tasted a spoon of the biryani and it was not at all hot. I 'm not sure how to describe it. It was not warm, but also was not cold . I guess I 'd call it lukewarm. And no bread arrived. My wife complained to him that my food was not hot. He then lifted my bowl and put his hand underneath the bottom and pronounced, It 's OK , then walked away. Well, I didn 't like that, and if I had known how the rest of the meal would have turned out, we would have just gotten up and left, which I now wish we had done. He had not tasted the food. Both my wife and myself had, almost immediately when it was brought to the table. Well, I finally finished the biryani but my naan never came. As he walked by I told him I was still waiting for my naan. He said it was almost ready. I then started in on my dal and spinach. It was also not hot. When I got to my last spoonful and the naan had still not arrived, as he walked by, I told him I did not want it. Our bill came to 53 euros. I wanted to check it, but he does not provide an itemized receipt, as most restaurants do. He told me he did not charge me for the naan. But not having an itemized bill to compare with a menu, I had to take his word for it. I never got an apology for the less than hot food or the failure to deliver the naan. I believe I should have gotten a discount on the bill along with an apology. At that point I just decided we would never return there again. Bottom line: When I tell a server the food is not delivered hot, having tasted it myself, and the server, not having tasted it, tells me it 's OK and walks away, that 's not acceptable. My father ran a restaurant for many years in Washington, D.C. and I know this is not the way to treat a customer, especially a returning customer."
