"We had dinner here at the recommendation of the concierge because we wanted seafood, but it was a bit of a disappointment. I think we started off on the wrong foot when the waiter rushed us to order. The best part of the meal was the wine, which was a nicer Vermentino. We ordered the potato appetizer, which came with a really good mushroom sauce. We also had the beef tartar, which was good when I added lemon, olive oil and pepper, but way too big of a portion. For entrees, we had the squid ink pasta with shrimp tartar and macaroni with mushroom. They were both just ok. For dessert, we tried the deconstructed tiramisu which was also ok. The limoncello at the end of the meal was warm. That was a huge bummer. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but this one just didn’t do it for me."

"Siamo andati là il 15/8/2018 quindi c'era un menù fisso €35 a persona. Pensavamo che fosse solo per il cibo. Abbiamo ordinato un vino rosato e abbiamo ricevuto una bottiglia di quello. Poi abbiamo avuto un po' di problemi con l'ordinazione perché quasi nessuno parlava inglese ma lavoro in un ristorante italiano a Londra quindi con Google Translate è stato più facile. Sulla lavagna fuori c'era un menù ma pensavamo di avere una scelta. Cerco di mangiare vegetariano mentre mia moglie adora il pesce. Abbiamo avuto un pasto fisso a tre portate ed è stato uno dei migliori di sempre! Per antipasto c'erano 4 diverse piccole bruschette o insalate con cui abbiamo ricevuto un bel sacco di cozze grandi e piccole. Poi per il primo ho preso gnocchi con gamberi e zucchine e mia moglie ha preso spaghetti ai frutti di mare, che abbiamo cercato di non finire, le porzioni erano enormi e molto buone. Per il secondo abbiamo preso una dorada con patate croccanti a fettine e insalata di pomodoro verde. Il servizio era molto lento tra i piatti ma pensiamo che sia fantastico perché si tratta del tempo in famiglia. È stato assolutamente fantastico! C'era una coda di 10-15 persone in attesa per un tavolo ma nemmeno si affrettavano a far uscire le persone, non come Londra dove si tratta solo di soldi dimenticando l'atmosfera familiare. Così incantevole! A proposito, abbiamo preso due bottiglie di quel rosato e il conto è stato solo di €70 quindi il vino era incluso nel prezzo del menù!"

"Had dinner at this place a few years after the last time. Fantastic location, right in the historic center of Lucca, classic tavern decor. Quality remained unchanged if not increased: The dishes were good, plentiful (especially the second courses) and perfectly in line with the Lucca tradition. We tasted the tortelli with ragù and the malfatti with fifth quarter white ragù, both special. Then we continued with the roast rabbit with cannellini beans and stewed wild boar with polenta formenton, abundant and delicious, especially the wild boar. Total bill, with a bottle of wine (gobbo black, €20), two side dishes and a coffee, €97; in my honest opinion, we left full and satisfied. Note of merit to the menu, which includes traditional dishes cooked with local products (which are rightly underlined) and to the very extensive wine list (from Lucca wines to more distant ones). If you pass through Lucca and want to taste typical cuisine, it is absolutely worth the stop, keep going!"

"Un buon posto specializzato in pasta fresca col pesce. La cottura della pasta era giusta ma l 'impressione é che fosse stata cotta nel cuocipasta e solo dopo assemblata col pesce, di conseguenza la pasta non prende il sapore del pesce. Inoltre la quantità di pesce presente in due piatti diversi fa pensare che 'stiano indietro ' per poter tenere il prezzo di tutti i piatti uguale. Servizio efficiente e rapido, forse il proprietario é stato un po ' troppo insistente nel voler proporre ulteriori consumazioni senza fermarsi al primo rifiuto. Nel complesso, data la posizione e il concept se si ha voglia di un classico 'du spaghi con le vongole ' senza spendere troppo é il posto giusto."
