"We stayed for one night at the hotel and decided to eat in the restaurant Sopra della Mura. A smile and a welcome from the waiter and waitress, a complimentary glass of prosecco and a small dish of pear and cheese got us off to a good start. We selected a Morellino di Scansano a Tuscan red perhaps less well known by many that the Chianti or indeed the Brunello, but every bit as fruity, rich and satisfying. To start the tagliere with a good mix of meats and a very moorish sweet pepper chutney, so we were cheeky and asked for some more. For our mains we both had the fillet of beef with a Chianti and sweet and sour onions, with a side of sautéed spinach. The meat was very tasty and tender; the sauce was tangy and rich. No room for dessert so we polished off the wine and went for a short stroll around the town. Lovely evening."
