"Local located in Viale del Verano, San Lorenzo district. Considering that we are not exactly among the most elegant neighborhoods in Rome, the owners' work in embellishing the place is particularly appreciated, with beautiful bamboo plants that act as a screen and a retractable roof that make the restaurant beautiful. Compliments. The food is of an excellent standard, fresh fish and treated very well by the chef. The desserts are also very good. So what's missing to get to 5 stars? In my opinion there are some necessary improvements (for a place of this level) in the service which is very friendly and fast, but with some incomprehensible distractions. Still, a place worth trying. Prices obviously not low but certainly in line with the quality."

"Mi reco spesso qui per le cene di gruppo. In generale lo consiglio, ma ci sono diversi aspetti da migliorare. Innanzitutto, la qualità del cibo, per essere un fast food, é davvero di primo livello. Inoltre il menù é vastissimo, con tante scelte che accontentano praticamente tutti. Apprezzo specialmente il fatto che vi siano anche varie opzioni per vegani e vegetariani, e tutte davvero deliziose! L'atmosfera é frizzante e l'ambiente é piuttosto colorato. É il luogo ideale per chi é amante della cultura americana, dato che vi sono poster di film ovunque. Il personale é gentile e disponibile. I prezzi sono giusti, rapportati alla qualità. Un punto critico però é l'organizzazione generale: anche se si ha prenotato, si rischia di aspettare fuori quando si creano lunghe file i sabato sera... Le pietanze e i refill di Coca Cola possono impiegarci tanto ad arrivare e al momento del conto, varie volte si sono sbagliati coi calcoli. Infine penso che il locale sia piccolo per la clientela di cui gode... c'è a disposizione la sala accanto, ma il locale chiude prima di America Graffiti. Penso che sia un locale con molto potenziale però, mi sento comunque di raccomandarlo per serate forse più tranquille."

"Ero con mia sorella nei paraggi di Tivoli, un sabato, verso ora di pranzo. Dopo una rapida ricerca ho scelto questo ristorante come luogo per saziare il nostro appetito. Una delle più belle sorprese mai avute. A partire dalla premura mostrata nel momento in cui siamo arrivati, quando ci è stato consigliato di stare all'interno causa rischio pioggia. Premura che poi è proseguita per tutto il resto dell'esperienza. Come per esempio quando abbiamo chiesto di poter mangiare il primo e solo in seguito gli antipasti. O quando veniva chiesto con estrema gentilezza se tutto stesse andando per il meglio. Ma passo un attimo a parlare del cibo. I nostri primi erano crepes di zucchine e limone, e una carbonara. Entrambe promosse a pieni voti. Soprattutto un riuscitissimo accostamento di sapori, confermato dal successivo antipasto: la caponatina di verdure, stracciatella di bufala e crostini. Davvero ottima. Abbiamo apprezzato anche il vino rosso della casa. Tuttavia, ciò che mi obbliga a mettere 5 stelle a questa recensione, è stato il momento dei dolci. Caramelle e crostatine con marmellata. Ovviamente preparate interamente in loco. La signora che me le ha portate mostrava una certa sicurezza riguardo il fatto che mi avrebbero trafitto, e ha avuto totalmente ragione. Credo di non essere mai stato così soddisfatto dopo aver mangiato un dolce in un ristorante. Nota di merito anche per il pane, per il bagno pulito e per i prezzi assolutamente in linea con quanto ci si aspetterebbe. Complimenti e speriamo di poter tornare presto!"

"The restaurant is trying to trap customers with a 12% service fee on top of the expenses. We left before ordering anything, as we saw the statement in small fonts at the bottom of the menu. Outside on their window, the statement was partially blacked out. I know that some Italian restaurants charge coperto and that's totally fine if they're transparant with their customers from the get-go. It doesn't sit well with me when they're trying to hide it. "Io e la mia ragazza abbiamo appena mangiato il cibo migliore in Italia! Come antipasto abbiamo condiviso il piatto misto di pesce che era eccezionale! Pesce con aceto balsamico e fragole fresche, insalata di tonno con pinoli, gamberi con salsa di zenzero e limone, frutti di mare misti con frutta e salsa all'arancia. Molto buono! La cameriera molto amichevole (servizio perfetto) ci ha consigliato i ravioli al cioccolato fatti in casa con ripieno di mozzarella e salsa di zenzero, erbe e limone. OMG! DELIZIOSO! All'inizio ero scettico sull'ordinare questo piatto. Ma nel momento in cui ho provato i ravioli non ho avuto più dubbi. La mia ragazza ha preso la pasta con verdure che era anche deliziosa. In seguito abbiamo condiviso due dessert: cheesecake alle pistacchi e crepes al matcha. Entrambi eccezionali. Consiglio la cheesecake ai pistacchi (vedi foto). Il menu è tutto italiano e la cameriera parla inglese quindi ci ha tradotto tutto. Sempre con un sorriso sul viso! Lo chef è uscito dalla cucina e ha spiegato tutto sui piatti in italiano. È stata una dolce sorpresa perché non parliamo la lingua, ma in qualche modo siamo riusciti a capire tutto! Non capisco le recensioni negative. Devono essere odiatori o qualcosa del genere. Perché questo posto senza dubbio serve cibo fatto con passione e amore! Ci siamo divertiti tantissimo lì e sicuramente torneremo a trovarli!"

"The service was impeccable, very friendly, the place quite elegant. However, all the food seemed pre-cooked, from a jar. They gave us bread without oil, without plates. The pasta was a disappointment, it tasted like the one I make with fried tomato at home, I didn't even eat the meatballs, they taste like the ones they put in the army, without exaggeration. The fries were frozen. When we ordered a 15 euro plate of potatoes with truffle and cheese and they brought us the photo that I attach below, we literally went to take a photo for the family and I hid the plate under the table because I was afraid that they would see it because I didn't hit with the site. Anyway, very friendly but the food was a bit of a fiasco.... and EXPENSIVE like everything in Milan. I appreciate the work of the service because they were very helpful, but if reviews are useful for anything, it is to improve things, and the food should improve to be up to par with the place."

"We spent our days in Rome doing intensive touring, so in the evening we wanted a special restaurant to relax and enjoy. The Doney restaurant is located in the prestigious and historic Westin Excelsior, and is a very striking, attractive, and modern restaurant. The restaurant has both an outside cafe area and an inside area which we preferred, due to the heat and traffic noise. Please note this is a fine dining experience with high quality service, and the prices reflect that standard. Our dishes were prepared to a very high level with great flavor and creative ingredients set in lovely displays, and the portions were quite ample. I enjoyed a great pasta dish, and my husband raved about his seafood main course. There is a wonderful selection of wines and other beverages to accompany the meal. We closed the delicious dinner with the delectable chocolate mousse and cherries, and were also pleased to receive some pretty and yummy petit fours with the bill. We would certainly recommend and return to this elegant Rome restaurant."
