Allie's American Grille At London Heathrow Marriott

The atmosphere was fantastic, and the service was top-notch. We started with the calamari and mussels, then had the burger and pork loin for our main course, accompanied by a side of creamed spinach.

I had a wonderful meal at Allie's in Marriott Heathrow. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the Yorkshire pudding and horseradish sauce as an alternative to bread. It was a very nice and flavorful meal!

So when we order the server says sorry we have no USDA beef so we order Wagyu. After some time the server comes to our table and says our champagne is covered by a special offer going to be 20 pounds for two. After five minutes the server comes back to say sorry we don't have Moët so why did you tell us about the special offer? Overall, my experience was disappointing. We had planned what was supposed to be a lovely birthday dinner by checking the menu on their website, only to find that a different menu was being offered when we arrived. There was no reasonable explanation for the change; we were simply informed that the website hadn’t been updated. I checked their site again recently, and it still shows the old menu. The service was slow, even though the restaurant wasn’t full. When I asked the waiter if he could ask the chef to prepare a small side dish from the original menu, I was only informed half an hour later by another waitress that this wasn’t possible.

a bad and disappointing experience overall. it should be a beautiful birthday meal that we had planned by checking their menu on their website only to find out when we gave it in the night another menu. we were not given a reasonable explanation for why the menu was different, only that the website was not updated. I have recently reviewed their website and it still shows the same old menu. the service was slow, although the restaurant was not full, and when I asked the waiter whether he could ask the cook to prepare a small next order from the original menu, I was not told by another waitress until half an hour later that he could not do that. The food was decent but felt overpriced, and we cannot recommend this restaurant due to its optional 12.5% service charge. As customers, you are faced with two options: either pay the extra charge on an already expensive meal or awkwardly request to have it removed, which can be uncomfortable. In our experience, a staff member reacted defensively about this charge, leaving us certain that we won’t be back. It makes us wonder if the additional revenue from this service charge offsets the loss of customers who choose not to return because of it. For the record, the service was acceptable, and we would have tipped had we not found ourselves in this predicament.

The restaurant has a nice ambiance and is well-organized, but we found it to be overpriced. We were surprised to discover a discretionary 12.5% service fee added to our bill. As customers, we felt we had two choices: either pay this additional charge on top of an already steep meal or embarrass ourselves by asking the server to remove it. In our experience, the server was defensive about our concerns, leading us to decide that we would not return to this restaurant. We can't help but wonder if the extra income from this fee compensates for the customers they lose due to this policy. The service itself was acceptable, and had we not been put in this situation, we would have left a tip.
