"We traveled to Vienna this week and did a little research here before hand. So glad we did, as one of the top choices for vegetarian options in Vienna happened to be a block away from our apartment - An-Do Restaurant. The atmosphere is casual, and the clientele was diverse - some local, some travelers, some college-aged from the nearby campus, families, and older couples alike. We ended up eating two dinners there of the three nights we stayed. The Food: Whatever you choose, start with a bowl of the red lentil soup - it is smooth and delicious. Squeeze the lemon wedge into it first - you'll be glad you did. We had a few versions of the falafel - sandwich, salad, and as part of the Falafel Teller (just try it). My wife declared this among the best falafel she has eaten in a restaurant ever. For a really special treat, try the Zucchini-Schafskase-Laibchen mit Blattsalat und Joghurt Minz sauce. I can't say just what was happening with all the seasoning in there, but what I ate was an amazing (fresh!) salad with two large-ish patties of creamy, rich, delicious flavor - decadently so. This is a part of town that a lot of folks will not see - take the time to ride the #44 Tram to the Yppenplatz stop (about 10 minutes from downtown), then the 5 minute walk to An-Do. If you go there on Saturday morning, you will find yourself in a wonderful open-air market with hundreds of vegetable, fruit, baked things, and other stuff dealers. (Note: Café An-Do is English-friendly)"
