"Hagen rabbit. This suburb of Hagen is not exactly a culinary hot spot, in fact, food smart is a little depressing. We have some good pizza salons like Il Fabbro if you want to dine in a cozy atmosphere or Pizzeria Sicilia if you...for a friendly, family run take away that also offers seating. If you're a fancy pizza, there is of course the possibility of diners or roast chicken. The local Asian restaurant went out of business a few years ago and the culinary landscape is extremely limited in terms of restaurants and snack bars, or snack bars as they are called in Germany. In fact, Hagen Haspe (like Hagen in general) has been missing for many years in small restaurants that offer traditional German cuisine. Until now... Florian Bürger completed his professional training in a hotel restaurant in a nearby city and attended the local vocational school. He stints in local restaurants, including Habbels in Sprockhövel, which is worth a visit if you are looking for first-class contemporary cuisine. Instead of continuing to work in a hotel kitchen or restaurant, Florian took over the rental contract of a small restaurant (Snack Bar sounds so deriving) and made the room and kitchen itself. The location is small: If you enter it, see a long counter in an L-shape where you can see some of the dishes you can choose. Behind a half-partition you will find four seats at tables. The wooden tables are dark brown, while the white walls are decorated with a handful of old photos that showed hare when it was still a flowering suburb. The simple table decorations help to soften the view of the restaurant. What makes this little restaurant so special? Florian citizen enjoys cooking for his guests! You don't feel he's doing this because he could find a job somewhere else. He's a qualified cook and really WANTS to be here. The kitchen is on earth German style cooking, which lets you please and dare I say it happy?! Although a lunch with stuffed paprika and some boiled potatoes with a small side salad can sound boring. But it's not. The dish tastes home made and the salad contains seasonal vegetables, e.g. cubes of pickled pumpkin. The daily lunch offers that are very popular with locals are good value for money and make a change from the usual Döner Kebab and Pizza in the neighborhood. In the evening you can choose dishes from the pleasantly short menu such as burger with organic beef, carving, fish with potato and mustard sauce, pork or pork that has been smoked for 16 hours. I also like the fact that if you order carving, you will hear how to order it flattened in the kitchen and then fried. You will not get here, find pre-baked carving! There are many free parking spaces at the nearby Heubing station. Conclusion: German cooking with a new twist So if you want to enjoy German style kitchen in a cozy restaurant while you cooked in hearty house food with the locals this is the place! Florian always has time for a friendly chat with his guests while they order and are happy to offer recommendations. Enjoy!"
