"If it were not a 36 hour flight, including layovers, I would visit Thailand often, and just to eat. Once full, I'd shop (and I do not like shopping).The food is so fresh that it's often still alive just moments before it hits a hot, olive-oiled wok; Add fresh vegetables, and maybe rice, and sitting before you, steam floating atop, is one the world's great, homegrown gifts. Be it shrimp, octopi, mussels, crisp greens, shallots, a bed of rice, and/or your choice of another dozen fresh selections, there is nothing within a thousand miles of the US south that comes close (except fresh, Appalachicola oysters) to tasting so good.Afterward, stroll the bazaars, card tables loaded with hammered silver dinnerware or jewelry, then stop in a tailor's. If you're prepared to look better than anyone would ever expect, there is a good chance the tailor will have you perfectly measured for a fine, English, lightweight wool suit. You pick the cloth, the lapels, the lining, the pockets, the cuffs (or not), the lengths of the jacket, the jacket's arms, the trousers, and even how the trousers sit upon (or below) your waste. Once finished, all will be shipped to your home, including the free, silk tie you picked out at the tailor's invitation. Best of all? This exercise and its perfect results did not cost $2,000; not even $1,000. Odds are you just spent $250 tops for a hand-measured and stitched suit made of fine, gorgeous lightweight British wool and silk-lined pockets, jacket, and trousers.No one will believe you. If they don't, I'll show them the one hanging in my closet. It's perfect."

Stayed at the Boss suites sukumvit soi 4, reasonable price, clean rooms and friendly staff and great breakfast. First time stayed here but would recommend this hotel.

We bumped into this restaurant while walking in Paris and didn't regret to have dinner at this place. Small, lovely restaurant that served authentic, spicy Thai food.

Bangkok gives you a feeling of home. People are warm and friendly and I should say we had so much more to do but had not much time. Me and my family had so much fun, sightseeing, shopping and eating. Luxurious getaway doesn't have to be expensive:)

The food was great. A friend from Paris took my family and I there. The waitress did not speak English but my friend translated. The Thai shrimp was delicious. The place is small and filled with reservations, but really good! Very snug and cozy inside. I recommend.

Went on a tour for 11 days to Thailand which includedBangkok, Koh Samui n Phuket. First of all, I live in San Diego had to fly out of LAX we decided to arrive the night before just in case we got stuck in LA traffic. We stayed at the Hilton hotel left our car there for length we would be gone. The hotel provided a free shuttle the next morning to the airport. The flight to Beijing was 17hrs yikes direct/non stop! Then we had a layover from China to Bangkok 6 hrs. The flight with Air China was nice they fed us all way to our arrival!

Maha Naga is hard to find and needs a taxi to get there. Taxi should never be more than B100 or about $3 from just about anywhere in the city.It is a beautiful restaurant and instantly calming on entering.The food is delicious Thai with French touches. The appetizer of 6 small plates was devine each one a taste different from the other. Main course I had duck with a lychee/curry sauce, it was delicious. Deserts are always simple and delicious. Ice cream in Thailand is on a par with Italy.The hostess at Maha Naga was more than gracious and the service was impeccable. 5 stars.

Bangkok is very welcoming. It is a city of contrasts with action at every turn; marvel at the gleaming temples, catch a tuk tuk ride or take a boat through floating markets. Thai food is Bangkok's highlight, from local dishes served at every street stalls to prime cuisine at various rooftop restaurants.Remember dress code applies, many rules such as always show respect to the royal family, never touch a monk, no beach attire even if it is 150 degrees, no whistling at night. Travelers should be aware of those, some people got in trouble on our trip.Scorching hot weather and extremely busy city.

I kicked and screamed when my daughter wanted her 40th birthday gift to be a vacation to Thailand. This turned out to be better than any USA, European oo other trip I've ever taken. Everything was 5 star, hotels extremely clean full of art serenity and beaufy; Did I mention the food was great... People wete very kind and humble. very cheap, Mind blowing shopping! Experiencing the culture was awesome; elephant and Ox rides through lakes and parks. monestary visits, shopping on water in canoes in the oldest city Chang Mang. Fling to Bankot, than Chang Mang. Last ending the stay at the Full moon party beach and back to spend our last two days in Bankot. We wete there to experience their new yea...
