"I have been here a couple of times and despite having numerous changes in ownership, the quality of food remains consistent on a good level. It is slightly more expensive than comparable tapas bars in Hamburg, which is why I did not give it one...rating more. The other rating is lost due to the staff. Very often it occurred that the staff was just trying to sell and failed to make one feel welcome. This included rigorously wanting to take orders and also automatically bringing the bill to the table. The interior of the restaurant is nicely done. Subtile decoration, clean toilets and a well stocked bar. Also a small seating outside is available, however this is closed by 10 pm due to the noise level."

Here it is possible to find really a good quality of tapas, well cooked and well presented. The service is nice and the prices fair.

The service was unfortunately very inattentive and slow. For the time in which all tables were occupied, completely fine, but it did not improve in the course of the evening. The food was excellent Visualizza piatti

The food is good. Certain tapas very good Octopus grilled e.g. And others just bad eggplant after ... Art. In total, I found it rather high priced for the quality. I lacked the wowfor at Euro per person

Have visited Barcelona tapas bar quite a few times in the last years. The tapas are made in high and surprisingly consistent quality. A very wide selection and a fast serving. Even if its recommended to book in advance its normally possible to get some...kind of seating after 20. Prices are quite high in conparison to other tapas restaurant

this place is very similar to a Spanish tapas square. the people who work here speak Spanish, they are very friendly and helpful and eating is the actual offer a selection of tapas that taste like they in Spain, a sangria that. Perhaps even better than at some places in Spain and the Latin music makes our night pleasant enough to even go dancing some salsa it is not expensive (we paid 63 Euro/3 people) and it is worth it. This restaurant in close to the Altona Rathaus and Altonaer Theater, so if you plan to go to the theater, this is a nice place to start the evening. We were a party of four, and the service was very attentive. My Spanish friend even...knew most of the wines, which i take as a good sign. We ordered round about 8 dishes for all of us, which was all we needed. and a bottle of red wine accpmpanied by a bottle of water. Check was about 76€ incl everything from food and beverages. I can recommend to go back, definitely as i cannot say anything bad. but i guess, personally, if i dont have plans to go to this area anyway, i would go to another tapas bar.

Despite of the sherry /olives welcoming and bestirred service this experience has been absolutely disappointing. Barcelona Tapas has been declining since the change of owner several years ago. Now it appeared to have reached rock bottom. Except for the name and skyline picture of the...ciudad condal, all traces of Cataluñan or even Spanish gastronomic culture have disappeared. Lousy pulpo leftovers, tasteless gambas al ajillo, bellow average Serrano instead of the ordered Ibérico, pa amb tomàquet with an ineffable tomato paste with… garlic! Could go on and on. I’m not naive and don’t expect Iberian tapas quality in Hamburg; but if you want to experience to some extend similar; avoid this one...

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
