Biergarten am Aachener Weiher

In beautiful weather a dream, but always full to the roof... For anyone who visits Cologne a must;

It was the summer carnival at the Aachener Weiher. Great atmosphere in the beer garden. From now on my number one in Cologne.

This biergarten is ideally located in Nagaskai-Hiroshima park, located near to ubahn stops in the north east corner of the park. Excellent when sunny, decent friendly service, and ok snack food to go with the beers.

This is a nice spot during summer season. You are close to the water, it is all open and a fresh breeze catches your nose where ever you sit, menu is a aiable, but we just had a couple of drinks, staff is very friendly, toilets very clean. For all ages and groups recomendable.

The location is really nice,and is ideal for a nice evening in the summer time.Unfortunately some people working here is very unpleasant,especially with those not speaking german. I'm often here,but only for the park and the lake,as happened serveal times to be treated very bad.

Situated next to a park and a lake it’s a great place to grab a beer especially in hot weather,Weissbeer was good at £4,20 Euro a pint and they also do food.At weekends in summer and when cologne are at home for the footie the park and this place gets mega busy with people mingling!!!

All the seating is outside and unprotected from the wind/rain.They have an amazing view of the Aachener Weiher but don't maximise their location to its full potential. The food is average, and the staff are a mix of very happy + polite, and rude + dismissive. I recommend bringing your own alcohol and drinking on the grass with the 1000's of others... It is really fun :)

To make the terrace more profitable (Geld Gier? the beer garden owners have illegally fallen a nice healthy tree, under which in summer many Colognes enjoyed the evening mood with a view of the water. The tree did not belong to beer garden owners, but stood on public soil, the green belt. This is financed with the (taxes of the owners, the Cologne population). The tree can now neither give shade nor convert CO2 into oxygen. Several young trees would have to be replanted there to correct climate change.

Only being in Cologne for 2 nights, this was one of only two beer gardens we had a chance to visit and I'm surprised by a lot of the negative reviews here. To be fair, we didn't eat food, and that appears to be the subject of the more negative ones. The location is great and we got a table overlooking the lake. The drinks were fairly priced compared to other restaurants we visited and had a decent choice. The service was really good too, so overall it was a nice experience. If you're only looking for a drink and a place to chill out, definitely go here! If you want food, maybe pay attention to the other reviews and find somewhere else.
