Boys - Piatti

Seven of us sat down for dinner here on a Saturday. We had delicious starters (crispy duck! and wonderful food. Too stuffed for sweets afterwards. Remember your number and meal name, there was confusion when the entrees were delivered.

Not very flavorsome considering Thai food is normally full of zest and flavors. Atmosphere and service were good, contrary to some of the reviews below, however with so many other Thai places on Chiswick High Street would be wise to try a few of the...other first.

My expectations were not high, I wanted simple cheap Thai food just in our neighbourhood. It isn't that cheap as service is not inc in the prices, we were greated without a smile, service was slow and unfriendly. Food quality was below a microwave Sainsbury...meal. I had a soup which was litteraly a spoonful of curry paste in boiling water and 1 mushroom cut in half in it... Not very pleased !

I've eaten three times in the last few years, every time it was good. this time we were one of only two couples on a Monday night. service was timely and polite, without being excessively warm or friendly. the menu. well plundered, we chose the Boys plate to share as start and another main dish. I was offered a warmed but shaving plate that was exchanged for an unchipped. eating was nice and reasonable. cash payment came only as surprise.

we visited this restaurant for dinner. the waiter was incredibly rude for us when we arrived and gave us broken menus. we were disturbed by an order machine that the waiter said he couldn't turn off and we would have to do all the time. during the meal that we disturbed by the delivery men through the door, blow the cold air into the restaurant. they were dirty. eating was very mediocre. the prawns were in trouble that were not crispy. we were very disappointed and will not return. This was perhaps the worst meal out I have ever had. The place was soulless, decor shabby and unloved, with VERY lacklustre, uninterested service. The fish cakes were rubbery and greasy and the vegetable curry was absolutely awful, a few raw vegetables in a thin...sauce, served with a block of solid hard undercooked rice. (Maybe you have to be a meat-eater to get anything worth eating).The whole place seemed to be lacking in any sort of welcome or effort to please. Will definitely go elsewhere next time.

I looked at the local reviews which were very mixed but my daughter likes their foof so I thought I'd give it a go. Collected myself so no complaints at deliveroo! The soup was bland and mushrooms not fresh, the pork skewers were unimpressive, even...the vegetarian spring rolls did not taste nice, were they freezer burnt? The duck tamarind was overcooked, i'll stop there except to warn you that in the restaurant they maintain they take cash only, scammers. Chiswick has a myriad of Thai Vietnamese places to eat including quite good genuine pubs so that you don't need to bother with this place.

Went for a 10th Anniversary meal with my husband, 1/2 way through starter he became very unwell and had to leave and go home. Asked to take the main courses home as a take away, instead of a sit down meal. Immediately told I would...then have to pay in full, but since the card machine was not working, I was directed to a nearby cash machine. Returned with cash as requested, in the mean time, the table had been cleared, the beardy untouched had starter had gone. But I was assured, since I hadn't had a chance to eat it, it would be replaced.
