"I popped in here yesterday, just to grab a take out coffee to go sit in the park. I got a medium cappucino with chocolate sprinkles. The coffee itself was nice. Shame really, Everything else about my visit was off. I was only in there for minutes, less than 5 minutes but the venue staff definitely made a lasting impression! Today was my first visit will be my last visit to Brown Bag Wokingham. I walked in quite honestly, I probably should have turned around gone elsewhere. As soon as I stepped inside I was hit with an aroma which you don't expect to find in a cafe. It smelt like a charity shop upon walking in. It put me off looking for anything other than just coffee. I went to the counter to be served. I had to wait a minute or so as the two staff were talking to each other. I gave the lady my order. She said a few things back to me but I couldn't hear her. It wasn't noisy in there but she was speaking very quietly with her face directed to the counter so it was difficult to pick up what she was saying or asking. After asking her to please say that again a few times we got there. I ordered medium cappuccino to take away. She did smile a little, more at the counter than at me, but, it was something at least. She passed my order to the guy, who then instantly, didn't appear to know my order. I had to wait a minute or so we He was on his mobile phone. He pulled a cup saucer out. He said something but, same as with the lady, I couldn't hear him. I said I wanted a take out cappucino, medium. Maybe I just don't know how it works in there? I thought it I ordered once that I wouldn't need to ask for the order again. Anyway..I digress. He asked me a few questions, all of which I could not hear so had to ask him to repeat them. Upon asking both servers to repeat what they had said of asked neither one spoke more clearly. I found myself just getting by on picking up the gist of what they were saying. I wish to say, I don't have any hearing issues. I spoke to several people yesterday had no problems at all with hearing people, not any other communication issues. I did enjoy the coffee hut as I said, I won't be going back. Even for a brief exchange I believe it is possible to make a customer feel welcome but I didn't feel that here. And, that aroma. I don't know why it smelled of charity shop but it made me feel the place wasn't very clean."

Always very busy and popular with Wokingham residents. Lots of seating outside and new undercover area. A good place to people watch and enjoy a coffee and cake.

Lots of competition for coffee shops in this town but this shop is often very busy and finding a table can be a challenge. Worth the wait however; good coffee, friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere.

It's a lovely place to socialise. Very quaint. staff always remember our preferences. It's as clean as it can be considering how busy it is. The staff are nice and the drinks lovely; they accommodate to your requirements. Visualizza piatti

I am a regular at this coffee shop. On this occasion accidentally spilled my coffees on my way to the table and very disappointed that not only did we have to do most of the cleaning up ourselves but also had to pay for two new coffees!

Plenty of coffee shop options in town, but these guys have it nailed. Great coffee, their food is excellent but they really stand out with their customer service. Friendly staff, who work hard but always have time for a chat. Keep up the great work team.

Visited the Brown Bag for a cream tea. We popped in just after the lunch time rush, so finding a place to sit was easy. A good size hot scone with cream and jam and a pot of tea. Well worth the money and the scone was so tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful too. Visualizza piatti

They do some nice items, good selection of sandwiches and salads. However, it often takes way to long to get served. They don't seem to have enough staff at peak times. Also, whoevers job it is to order enough items, needs a talking to. 08.35 on the morning, and already sold out of the days ceaser salads.

I often stop by this restaurant for coffee and a panini during the week, and sometimes to meet up with family on weekends. The place is always bustling from mid-morning through lunchtime, with a diverse range of customers across different age groups. I recently noticed that they have added a new toilet facility, which was a much-needed improvement. One downside is that the milkshakes are quite popular with families, so there are often long lines.

"After many years, on recommendation of others, went to this restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Whilst the food was excellent, the service was atrocious and totally ruined what should have a lovely night out on a very special occasion. Booked for and seated...promptly. Orders for aperitifs taken and drinks brought promptly. Order for wine taken, bottle brought and opened. Then it all went downhill. Waited for over minutes for our meal order to be taken and that only happened because I signalled to the girl behind the bar that I was getting unhappy. First course then took about minutes to arrive. However our main course took until to arrive. I have never ever waited minutes for a main course to arrive. It would not have been so bad if the staff had shown any interest or we had been able to grab hold of one to ask what was going on, they just seemed to totally ignore us! As mentioned earlier, the food, when it did arrive, was very good, it would have been even better if the side order of vegetables my wife had ordered had also arrived. We did ask what had happened to them but when we were told they had been overlooked, decided to just make do and share mine. To add insult to injury, while we were waiting we noticed that other couples were eating dishes that were not on the menu we had been given. I later found out that we were supposed to have been given a specials menu but this had also been overlooked. At the end, the manager was very apologetic and gave a cursory discount however this was not the point. It was a special occasion at a not inexpensive restaurant I would have preferred to pay the full price and not had a ruined evening. Needless to say, we will not be returning."

"After reviewing the menu, we decided to go for a 'running buffet' and shared a variety of dishes, reordering every ten minutes or so. I asked everyone to rate each dish on a scale of 1 to 5, and every main dish received a perfect score of 5, except for the Szechuan Prawns, which got a 5.5, and the sizzling spicy chicken, which scored a 6! The rice and noodles were all delicious—fluffy, tasty, and well-seasoned—but we gave them all a rating of 4 simply because the mains were exceptional. The standout dishes were the Char Siew (honey pork), which we ended up ordering three times, and the sizzling hot spicy chicken, which we ordered twice. It had a delightful kick of heat, was tender and moist, and had a wonderful sauce—even though I tried to manage the scores, they rated it a 6! The Szechuan prawns were plump, firm, and cooked to perfection, and they scored a very hard-fought 5.5, with just the right amount of heat. One of the boys was a bit picky, but we requested a serving of Singaporean noodles without vegetables for him without any hassle. This isn’t just average food; it’s really good, and it comes out quickly, looks appealing, and tastes fantastic—reflecting its price. We also tried the 'wine by the glass' options. The white Chilean Sauvignon Blanc paired well with the food, while I enjoyed an Australian Shiraz that complemented the beef, pork, and spicy dishes nicely. The Italian 'Blush' rosé was also a hit. We're already planning to return on Monday with another group of six to explore more of the menu, and I’m genuinely looking forward to it. If you truly appreciate good food, I highly recommend trying Chef Peking!"
