Tea and cake with the ladies who lunch. This place hasn't changed since I was here over ten years ago. Loverly cakes. Friendly staff but helps if you can speak at least a little German.

I sat down in what felt like my grand mothers lounge anticipating something special based on the reviews... Stale croissant, weak cappuccino, and butcher muesli with rotten fruit salad... Highly disappointing! Oh, and expensive.

The food was delicious! It was a lovely salad and vegetarian quiche. Many varieties of cakes. It was superb! I could complain about the dogs inside. I really didn't appreciate it. So I don't recommed for who doesn"t like to eat with animals nearby.

We stumbled across this cafe while wandering towards the Christmas markets. It had a very olde-worlde feel about it and was a very cosy place to sit and rest for a while and enjoy the cakes! Very friendly and helpful service and the cakes were...delicious.

The refined pastries and cakes are the real draw here, together with an old-world café interior. Service is a bit patchy, but all that is forgotten once you dig into one of those multi layered delicious cakes, accompanied by classic filter coffee. This is NOT...a trendy barista bar.

Café Jansen is rather hidden in a paralell road to Hohen Straße. It is particularly popular with some older ladies because it obviously meets their taste with a lot of plush and rather baroque ambience. In addition, the cake itself and also the variety of pastries are excellent, even the homemade chocolates are recommended only.

The cakes are not just a eye-catcher that really tastes good. I recommend the delicious breakfast that keeps what it promises, even if scrambled eggs and croissants do not necessarily fit together, but sweet after hearty or vice versa tastes good. Super friendly service, I think that was also the owner. Unfortunately, I'm not so often in Cologne, but I'm going back!

Café Jansen is also one of my favorite cafés in Cologne's city centre. Particularly worth mentioning is the complex that recalls the former café home tradition. Very cozy here, due to the spatial arrangement. On certain days also very well visited, usually very friendly staff. Very tasty cakes that would like to buy in the city are best served before or after, for an extensive breakfast or a café. Very recommended. If you drive to the city by car, you can park in the Parkaus in the Brückenstr. A few meters away.

Looking for a light refreshment, (Iced coffee) we found this little shop on a street corner with beautiful cakes for sale and an appealing seating area for food. Asking if they served Iced Coffee over the lunch time, the staff were so friendly and accommodating...with a positive reply. The coffee came with all the requirements filled with Coffee, Ice Cream, Chocolate and Cream Super! The Cafe has a historic and Gentile past, the building has to be kept as near as it was when first built and is very picturesque. We wanted to visit the following day unfortunately the Cafe would be closed due to a TV Company filming a popular TV show. So no Grand Marnia Crepes, and Iced Coffes on that day. This...
