Cafe La Marine - Piatti

Located by the marina, food are good size portions and tasted good, we managed to over order by mistake. Not too expensive either, nothing special, but we would go back.

We stumbled across this place that looks from the outside like a normal pizzeria. It is situated in the center of the port area and therefore usually quite busy. They have a quite long menu (from seafood to sushi and pizzas). Quite a lot of foods contain nuts (not indicated at all), and even after asking for the nut...content of the cheesecake (they said just the decoration) and asking for a nut-free one they still put the nut decoration on. We went for salmon steaks which were OK, but nothing special.

We had some sushi and salad with cocktails. The cocktails were nice. My tempura sushi with foie gras was good. His salad tasted like it was with mayonnaise saus so a bit overwhelming. I saw on TripAdvisor that this place was recommended for it sushi...so went to try. Quite expensive compared to my own town but it was nice to try! The waitress couldn't speak English, was totally not friendly but guess service in Europe is in general like that.

Good food, great service, cool interior. The marine pizza with Buffalo mozzarella was a nice surprise, but perhaps it should not have been given the Italian influence on island culture. All of our sushi was good as well, and my wife liked her calamari bowl....The place also does a big takeout business, with people picking up huge plates of sushi to take to their boats in the marina or wherever else. We had a lovely meal at this restaurant. We both had pizzas which were really nice and it was great to have some choices as a vegetarian. We had the nem pistache and the filled chocolate ball for dessert which were both delicious. Only spoilt...by being surrounded by smokers dueing our meal, it felt like we are the only non-smokers in Corsica, literally people round a table smoking, I find it quite outputting. Our French is limited but perhaps we will try and ask to be seated away from the smoke next time.

My husband and I visited this restaurant twice during our night stay at porto vecchio as we found everything perfect! The food, all delicious with lovely detail and presentation. Cocktails were really good. The waiting staff were really friendly, funny and helpful with menu...choices. We also sat in the best spot, right next to a window to where the chefs are cooking and you can watch the meals being prepared, the friendly chef saw my mouth watering at the food and passed us some steak out of the window to try! We loved it so much we had to go back and weren't disappointed. Definiteley visit if you are in the area. Thank you!

I had the beef spicy noodles. In my mind I thought- this place concentrates on Japanese food, surely it would be fresh and yummy I WAS WRONG. My dish consisted of frozen mushy peas, pot noodles, gravy, fatty beef and was swimming in onion. Absolutely...disgusting. The prawn tempura was gloopy and over battered. The chicken tempura was basically chicken nuggets stuck on a plate with sticky rice. DO NOT HAVE THE COCKTAILS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. I tried a strawberry daiquiri. It was sour, tart and had no ice, it was all liquid. I thought oh well, maybe it was a one off and I'll try a mojito instead I was wrong, once again. The mojito had lemons in. Who has a lemon mojito?
