"that the restaurant is visited by many tourists is understandable. go somewhere else away from the harbour if they want to be between more locals. the service was ok. friendly and reasonable efficient. not quite, but sufficient. the friendliness turned on the...wrong mistakes. there were four of us, three moule fries and one plate du jour. the cuddles were not warm enough, very small and especially the cream was not nice, unpleasant even. it was more a bechamel sauce. they should not eat mushes that are still closed after cooking. each of us had at least that still closed or almost closed. they should not have been served. the plat du jour was inspiring, very simple. the ice dessert was however generous and tasty. the dessert of the plat du jour was easy. worth money? Not really. there are several restaurants, closer to the actual harbour, which are significantly better."

Lovely lunch seated on the terrace. Moules with chorizo and salmon en croute. Very busy on a mid week lunchtime even at Not the cheapest but it was very enjoyable.

had lunch here on a wet, rainy day and the ghosts lifted up. the menu had a lot of choice, eating as much or little as they want, no pressure. eating was good, although unexcepted, the staff courteous and efficient. I'm sure you're worth a visit.

We had a good meal. The service was good. Really nice clean restaurant so can't understand why the management allow a big hairy dog to sit near to people enjoying their meal. Personally I don't think dogs should be allowed. There are tables outside or...near the door. It spoilt our visit to be honest.

we were looking for the food and started ordering drinks to order three coca cola did not go well. we have two, though we are counting. when the cola arrived, you were warm and not an ice cream. we ordered moule fries and salat. it had a “fish”...taste and the salad leaves were old. compares this at the price, expensive.

Whilst in Granville we decided to have lunch in the square at Le Pirate cafe brassiere. We took a table outside and were quickly attended too. We ordered drinks and our meals. In a good timely manner our drinks and then food followed. I...enjoyed my bowl of cider. The meal was good too, my burger was very tasty. Recommended.

Popped in for an afternoon drink after a hot drive from Le Mans. Very pleasant. Right in town square. Good service. Friendly staff. Some English spoken if you attempt French. Just what you want on any trip to France Booked a table for evening meal...but probably didn’t need to as plenty of tables available. Good meal. Canard was great Recommend if staying in Granville

We nipped in for a quick bite while visiting Granville. It was a late lunch, so the restaurant wasn't hugely busy. Service was very quick and the food came out quickly. The food was good quality (ham omelette and Americain' sandwich). The order didn't go...perfectly as a couple of bits were ordered that didn't arrive, but that was quickly resolved with no fuss. Nice place for a quick bite and to refuel.

I love the tiramisu! I would certainly recommend this resto whether for drinks or a family dinner. the place is very clean and kept clean. the toilets are impeccable. dinner for drinks dessert included

"It was 6pm on a Saturday in Granville and we hadn't booked a dinner table. Before we arrived in town we hadn't appreciated that it was boat show weekend in Granville and the place was rammed with visitors from all over France. Having seen this place's great Tripadvisor reviews, I wandered in off the street at 6.15pm to find they were fully booked. But they nevertheless offered us an early table at 7.15pm, to be finished by 9pm, which suited us fine and was very much appreciated by a hungry family of four. The location is unpromising - behind a large public parking area opposite the industrial fish shed on the port - and the restaurant looks small and not particularly special. The interior is fairly dark and subdued, but has been stylishly refurbished. We found the the welcome, the service and the food well beyond expectations. The set menu consisted of about five choices for each course. We all opted to take all three courses for €32. Most of the courses are seafood-based, as you'd hope and expect. Our starters were excellent - two crab and two smoked bass - and the main courses equally good. We both had grilled turbot, perfectly cooked, while our kids (10 and 12) had steaks which were of very high quality. We shared four different superb desserts. The wine list was quite small but with a decent range. We had the chef's recommended St Romain at €34 which worked really well with the fish dishes. The service was attentive and friendly throughout, and our kids felt very welcome. One point to note - an earlier review mentions a kid's menu. In fact the only menu available to us was the standard set menu. This worked fine for us, but if your kids are still building their sense of culinary adventure, it might not be the ideal place for you! We really enjoyed this place and we'll definitely be back."
