"We've been in Cafe Velo twice and both times have had a warm welcome and very nice food. This time I had the club sandwich which was huge and had egg in it, which I've not had before in a club sandwich but which was great. Helen had the toasted tuna cheese melt and Oscar had ham and cheese toastie. You can tell the ingredients are high quality and it's all put together well. The owner seems to talk to a lot of the customers and cares that people have had a good experience. Price is reasonable. Little more than a greasy spoon but well worth it."

Plenty of space to park the bike inside combined with interesting memorabilia, bike themes and superb coffee and delicious cake. Perfect for cyclists and appreciated by the non cycling locals too.

Visited on Wednesday and was very impressed. A great setting and very cyclist friendly. A good menu, friendly and helpful staff, dog friendly, and amazing bacon and sausage sandwiches. Would highly recommend.

Excellent coffee stop. Fantastic selection of cakes, brunch and lunch. Indoor parking for your bike, superb memorabilia on display with photos and frames, tshirts and more. If you are stopping in Beverley you must visit here. The fried egg buttie is a winner. See you on the road!

the best caffe we found in 400 miles from devon to yorkshire. we were made to really feel welcome, the coffee was good and strong, the breakfast was amazing and the cake portions were very generous. the owner was very chatting and helpful with recommendations for the local area. I wish we were here to come back!

friendly bicycle café. nice staff, very attentive. bicycle suspensions can be challenging when on a heavy winter model, but at least there are off road parking. simple hebesystem possible? chose ei mayo on brown. brot was a bit dry today and turquoise. I don't hope the believer is yesterday. friends had quiches that looked delicious.

My husband and I found this gem of a cafe whilst wondering round Beverley town centre. It is a cycling themed cafe with pictures of cycling events on the walls. They have bike hooks on the wall so you don't have to leave your bike outside. The owner uses locally sourced produce, they have a varied menu at reasonable prices, the coffee which is also locally sourced is one of the best cups of coffee I've ever had.

Organise regular weekly rides for a group of enthusiastic cyclists and always book our stops in advance. Imagine my embarrassment when took group of 12 there yesterday only to find it all locked up and dark. Eventually told there was a family emergency and that they had tried to call but no call was registered on my phone. Really poor and does not deserve to be supported with this kind of attitude to customers. Shame.

"Visited today with my wife and month old daughter whilst we are on holiday in the area. We didn’t have a booking but this wasn’t a problem, the staff were friendly throughout and accommodating about lack of booking. We asked for a children’s menu...(website says they have one) but we were advised it’s was the basket meals menu which they advertise as selling to guests sat outside, they did also mention they could make a smaller portion of something from the adult menu. The basket meals menu is mainly fried food and chips, the kind you might share with friends over drinks, I wouldn’t call it a children’s menu. To me a children’s meal should at least come with some option of veg/salad/beans and ideally not be fried, plus the chips that arrived with her chicken bites were salted, not great for little ones. We didn’t make a fuss as for one meal as a treat we weren’t unduly worried but it would put me off going back with children. They also charged the full basket meal price so no reduction for children. Our meals, fried garlic mushrooms, salt and pepper chicken goujons to start then a beef burger and chicken burger as mains, arrived promptly and were generous portions. The food was fine, nothing spectacular just average pub food. The main issue on our visit and the thing that made the whole meal much more stressful and unenjoyable was the flies, we were sat in what they called the restaurant area and our whole meal start to finish was disrupted by or flies continuously buzzing round us, trying to land on our food and land on us, not fun. I accept that or flies can be around when doors or windows are open and it’s hard to stop them coming when food is around but or round us and more to be seen in the room seems too many to me, it really put us off especially when they were landing on our daughter. At the point of eating the meal we didn’t raise the issue as we couldn’t see that anything could be done about it and I’m sure the staff are not a fan of the flies either. I did raise the issue whilst paying and was told they knew about the problem and were doing their best to solve it, sadly for us it would stop me wanting to go again. All in all not a great experience and the food whilst nice enough wasn’t good enough to overcome the issue of the flies and the lack of a proper children’s menu."
