"Absolutely disgraceful, the food was tastless and barely cooked, paid nearly £12 for 2 sausage chips and cheesy chips and garlic???? How??? Even worse it took 30 minutes to actually make this order even though everything was actually ready while I was stood there!!! To say the least the staff were incapable of the simplest of tasks let alone anything else! I will never ever order from here again, and I would advise anyone to reconsider! I could have went home cooked both meals and made my girlfriend her chicken tikka wrap(that she got from derwentside pizza and was beautiful while my food that was there was getting apparently sort) and went back up and they still wouldn't have got it sorted! If I could give them no stars I would!!! HORRENDOUS"

The prices were reasonable, but unfortunately, it took an hour and a half for the food to arrive, and when it did, it wasn't very appealing and was quite greasy.

The dining experience and service are generally good, but like any other takeaway, there can be one or two mistakes, especially during peak times. Their delivery times are usually reliable, but when they are really busy, there can be delays.

I ordered food and waited for two hours, only to receive a flimsy excuse about Uber being delayed. The food still hasn't been delivered. They called me at 1:04 AM to confirm my address, and then mentioned that my order came through at 1:06 AM. This level of service is unacceptable. From my experience, restaurants are required to confirm orders, so their excuses are simply not credible.

Ordered pizza and a tray of kebab meat.. pizza came but no tray of kebab meat.. I paid in full and appreciated that these things happen.. they apologised and said they would be straight down with it. 45 minutes I waited and by the time it arrived I'd lost my appetite for it. Usually if takeaways make mistakes or mess up delivery, theyd send out a free bottle of pop or somthing but unfortunately this didnt happen. I ordered fish and chips, along with a portion of fish bites and chips with curry sauce, for a total of £17. The fish and chips were decent, but the fish bites were a different story! They were so small that I’ve seen bigger goldfish at a fair! For £4.50, I received just four tiny fish bites, each about the size of my pinky finger. When I went back to confirm if this was correct, I was told that it was, and I was informed that cod is expensive. Trust me, I’m well aware! I won’t be coming back. I took a photo of the portion, but I can’t upload it here. I recommend sticking to Delves Lane Chippy instead. I wish I had read the other reviews before deciding to visit!

"This place is a hidden gem! The setting is absolutely beautiful. I had afternoon tea, and everything was amazing. The cheese scones were the best I've ever had. I also tried the smoked salmon sandwich, which had a wonderful blend of flavors in the filling. They offer bottomless tea, and the staff, especially Stubborn and Eddy, were incredibly accommodating. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them."

"In the past, It may have received awards and accolades for its cakes and pastries, but of late it wouldn't merit any for its customer services or lack of it, most certainly as one female member of staff is concerned. What can only be seen as utter disrespect and total rudeness, with regards to the manner in which she has treated both my wife and I, over the past weeks. For some unknown, to us, but blatantly obvious reason to her, by her actions, has on four separate occasions over four weeks,.purposefully taken to not honour a reserved table booking request, which on this last occasion , the reservation was taken by her. On a previous occasion she said she thought the couple she let use the table would have left, that was after two hours? Last week after again she let the reserved table go, we were offered another table as long as we didn't stay too long? Not two hours then? On this last occasion, we walked in to see this member of staff serving at the table we reserved, looking up blankly at us, we just walked out, never to return. In old parlance we are regulars, loyal customers who have been going there for years. Even after Lockdown we made a concerted effort to support them, seeing other businesses fold, through lack of customers. In the past, we never reserved a table but was told it was much easier for them if we did, so we did. It appears others can reserve tables as is but for this member of staff we obviously, for some reason or other, don't qualify? Needless to say, we will find an alternative eatery to make our weekly visits to, one without a rude and disrespectful member of staff. In closing and in balance all the other staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Lorraine and Paul amongst others. There's always one?! Good luck to the New owners, with her attitude you are certainly going to need it."

"The restaurant offers excellent food in a relaxed atmosphere. The service is good and they have a nice selection of light meals or snacks. The prices are fair. The steak sandwich and the lemon tart were both outstanding. The coffee is good as well. There is also a great shop connected to the restaurant that has high-quality local meat, baked goods, and produce. This is definitely one of our favorite spots."

"Plucked this pub from Tripadvisor. Met some friends for lunch. First question, can I bring the dog in? YES. Excellent answer. Traditional pub atmosphere. Mega pleasant staff. Traditional English pub food with a couple of curries for choice. We ordered hot lamb sandwiches with chips...and salad and a burger with cheese, staff happily changed the salad for peas. Cleared the plate, it was really delicious. They also serve cask ale. The staff were brilliant and helpful throughout. Only thing I would say is the car park is on a slope but that might be more about my parking ability :"

"with a friend, the new sambuca consett, we had the lunch special at £4,95 ever, I choose the potato skins with a garlic and chili mayo dive really well presented and my friend had the minestrone suppe and it looked delicious my potato skins were perfect with a beautiful crispy skin, nothing soggy about them and absolutely beautiful. we both chose pizza from the menu without going on and on them were absolutely beautiful in the I did forget to make a picture lol, we were given a free nice pizza lot brot to welcome us that we thought was really nice not to finish as were totally full lol, ready with tee and coffee, could have had ice cream, maybe another day I went back to eat"
