"We have been coming to this restaurant for quite a while, several times a year and it has always been consistent in quality of food, taste and staff..... Something has changed...No longer are you greeted with a smile by the wonderful owner(?) waiter who spoke English and French, and I supsect a couple of other languages, instead you are greeted by someone who does not appear to understand French or English. Whilst my French could not be called fluent, I have never had trouble in being understood. It took three goes just to get a beer!The Popadoms were not cooked all over, soggy and not crisp, we had to send them back. The now owner (?) told us he re cooked them in another pan, he did not, he put them in the microwave, I heard it ding! What is more worrying that those waiting by the bar were also removed at the same time, so I guess they knew they were all the same.The waitress, a miserable girl, seemed to have no clue and treated us more like she were doing us a favour being there. It took several goes to place our order.The plates were freezing cold, so we decided to eat straight from the seving dish, which although it was not what you could call hot, was warmer than the plates.The main course that arrived was not what we ordered, we ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, what we got was closer to Chicken Curry. It was tasty, but not what we wanted. We had an appointment to go to, so by this time we gave up and ate what was put in front of us.The tables are small in this restaurant, which is fine, providing the wait staff keep clearing the used items away, they did not, so I gave up and just stacked things on the table next door. Finally they seemd to get the message.....At the end of the meal we asked the waitress what had changed, she said nothing. We told her that we had been coming here and it was nothing like it used to be, she shrugged and said the owner and the chef were the same people, although she did amdmit there had been a change in the wait staff. Our complaint was given to the original waiter who could not get the drinks order straight, he questioned us, and then the "owner"? was told and he came to question us...... More like the third degree and conducted entirely in French which was fine, and goes back to my point of there being a problem with taking the order seem even more strange.We told them we probably would not come back here again, which is a great shame because we really had enjoyed our little find and looked forward to our visits there. He did comp a small jug of wine, but we did not compalin to get something free, we wanted to know waht had changed, because it really needs to change back again.....Sad!"

Very pleasant setting, especially in summer on the square, in the shade of the lime tree. The servers are smiling and available. As for the dishes, all the Indian flavors are there. Address to be made known.

Had no intention of eating Indian! Saw the sign though!! Lovely lunch, 15e 3 course. Moist and tasty chicken tikka followed by Mutton curry. Delicious, not too hot but very tasty. Very friendly service. Highly recommended.

A pleasant lunch in friendly company. Got the impression of a change in ownership as not as friendly and warm as usual and change in front of house. Food was good, service efficient and quick. Will revisit to see how it progresses

Great spot for a quiet lunch, tucked away in the oldest part of perigueux. Food is what you would expect from an Indian restaurant in the UK, lots of choice, and all the regulars make an appearance (vindaloo, korma, etc etc). Everything we eat has been spice appropriate for the French clientele, but thats not necessarily a bad thing, and I'm sure you could ask them to spice it up a bit :-)

Sunday lunch. The restaurant was relatively quiet, the service discrete, precise and extremely polite. I was advised that the dish I ordered was not as hot (spicey) as I might have expected in England. I asked if it could be made a little hotter and it was excellent, spicey and full of subtle flavours too. We were asked at each course if we were happy with our meal and finally offered a liqueur with coffee (cadeau) unfortunately as we had to drive home we had to decline! Visualizza piatti

A trip to Perigueux found me with time to enjoy lunch. As a fan of Indian/Pakistani food I'm always on the lookout for a place for a nice curry, and since I live in an area without a curry restaurant, I decided to check out Cafe Manija, which I happened upon during a walk in the medieval quarter.I wasn't disappointed. I chose two dishes; palak paneer (creamy spinach with paneer cheese) and mutton with dal. Absolutely spot-on and very tasty.Service was excellent and both the waiter and maitre d' spoke English (however, in a restaurant French is not a problem for me - most of the time). Not having high expectations of curry in France we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of our meal. Quantity was a different matter. I have never had three courses and left a restaurant hungry. Had we known how small the portions were we would have had extra main course dishes (no side dishes available as such) and dispensed with the deserts, which were average and tiny. No chapattis available and very small naan bread are expensive at 4€ each. Eating the main course from the serving dish rather than transferring it to the very cold plates is recommended.
